I first saw them in 1974 in Chicago. We walked in a bit late and they were in the middle of "Demolition Man," I believe from one of the Preservation albums. There was a strobe light flashing and Dave was wearing a white and black striped jacket, plus tie and hat, as I recall.

I saw this tour in Germany at a very small venue. The best concert I have ever attended, and I have seen a lot of concerts. At the begining of the show the audience was sitting in their seats and kind of subdued. Ray Davies jumped off the stage and pulled some of the people in the front row up to their feet, including the girl sitting next to me, to get the place excited. It worked. The place was rockinafter that.

Great Song!

Saw it live 1989 Georgetown University standing on blue plastic in the old gymnasium. The plastic was the type used to cover a baseball field when it rains. They put that down, because 2 beer trucks were serving up 32 ounce Budweisers.

What a BLAST! It was the greatest concert I have ever attended. The entire crowd, went WILD! It seemed like they played forever. I remember being exhausted by the end.

3-5-2010: Just got home from the Ray Davies concert in PA, and the last song he did (with backing band "The 88") was this one "Low Budget". So timely again, and he did a magnificant job on it! His voice soared all night long, and I could not help but imagine what if the entire Kinks were backing him up tonight - surely his voice would have soared right with them!
