However great the technical musicianship is, this music seems empty of soul, like it was made for a computer game! I know its great skill, but is this great music? Who would put this on their stereo and say 'wow that really MOVED me'?

I like the way almost all the band have headphones for their click tracks, keeping the tempo rock solid for the smooth soulless muso stuff on top.

I would rather hear one note modulated with meaning!

If you've never heard of the" Budda" you must not be much of a musician, he's only been around for decades wowing audiences world wide. Guess you've probably never heard of Victor, Stanley, John Patitucci, or Brian Bromberg either huh? They are all probably only a a handful of the best bass players this planet has to offer. WAKE UP! I didn't know who he was and I go way back. Paul chambers way back. Bought a 7 string a few years back and some dude was like Buddha. Lot of great players out there N.H.O.P<one of the greatest upright players ever...Alex Blake, Abraham Laboriel, Sr. To many for one person to know of all of them. These cats are just as Bad as Bill Dickens, Stanley, bla bla bla in there own right. Oh and of course yours truly, Because I'm a legend in my own MIND! lol

Good news! He's got an awesome book + CD and a DVD out. Bill "The Buddha" Dickens: Funk Bass and Beyond. So you can learn so-to-say directly from him. I'm just reviewing it all and teaching it to a student. Most amazing stuff!
