I think that may have been the point, and nicely done I might add. Sahara began her piece with Faruk's version and danse orientale moves; then ended with the remix of that song and the more tribal fusion moves. You can that many of the roots of tribal are firmly planted in cabaret.
...sorry...but here there is no tribal technique..this practically pure belly dance!!! Only at the end i saw locks...points...and some special figures!
okay...so just to clarify...12 acts were chosen for the competition and 10 of them were classical belly dancers...Because Tribal Style is so new here in Israel I tried to tone the choreography down to something the audience and judges could relate too...Despite this-none of the judges knew how to rate us and so during they're delberations for a winner they created a whole new category!!! (Believe me-if i would have known that beforehand, the dance would have looked very different!!!) :-)
I see so many cabaret/oriental dance steps in this choreography, but you are right is fused with some sprinkles of tribal here, and there, making it look a little fusioney.
Beautiful dancing!
