  • We need a Memnoch the Devil movie.

  • @rosesNightengales: I know very wel what a "real" vampire is like. Thank you. That we like a beautiful love story doesn't means that we know "real vampires" as you like to put it, die in the sun, get more powerfull with the age, don't go to highshool. I've read Anne Rice. It's like saying that every book about magic that isn't Harry Potter is bad.

  • to the pimp that followed...

  • Lestat: Louis take my hand

    Louis: Okay ene

    Lestat: *Flys away* ADVENTURE!

  • "The day I was born to the world of darkness"

  • Lestat sucks blood, Edward sucks cock.

  • Remake!?!? Fuck that!

  • This movie wasn't about vampires. It was actually about us humans, for the leading character,Louis',constant struggle between his new dark nature and humanity all through the movie.

  • Do you have the main theme

  • So frikkin' love this movie!!! Great books too. My favourite Vamp movies??? Bram Stokers Dracula, Interview with the Vampire and The Lost Boy's. Oh, and True Blood is AWESOME!!!

  • I freaking hated Claudia in the book AND in the movie. Hate her. Jealous little bitch.

  • @DarklyEverafter She's even worse in Merrick..

  • Is it weird that my favorite part of the book is when they describe the old castle scenery and the old vampires of the old world who had basically lost their minds? I just loved it and i was really hoping it'd be in the movie.

  • it could be nice if somebody remake the this picture and do al the vimpire chronicles of anne rice in movies because the books are just great!!

  • omg, this flipping film changed my life, i can't get enough of it or vampires now. queen of the damned was ok, but this just beats all. this is my top vampire movie. hands down

  • I'm in love with this film,I think I've seen it at least 5 times...

    Beautiful music

  • --->sensitivity during daylight.. lets say like humans when we just wake up and someone opens the shades suddenly before out sight is used to the light, something like that but in a long term. i loved the fact that they couldnt get harmed by the sunlight, very innovating. I loved their skin sparkled under direct sunlight, because imagine a farmer seeing a Vampire sparkle under the sun 500 years ago..he would probably say to the people in the village "It was on fire "-->

  • I DON'T CARE IF AN ANGRY MOB COMES CHASING ME, REAL VAMPIRES DON'T SPEND ETERNITY IN HIGH SCHOOL NOR DO THEY SPARKLE!!! THE CULLEN'S ARE SPARKLE-TARDS.

THE GUY WHO EVEN PLAYED EDWARDS SAYS THAT HIS CHARACTER IS A WANKER. HMMM, TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!

i absolutely love the vampire lestat, in my opinion that one is the best!

  • @TheOReport1994 You know what else real vampires don't do? exist. It's okay to have different versions in different books.

  • @PsychoBatcave

I never admitted that vampires do or do not exist, i was merely commenting on the character development between the two and which character has more personality.

  • @TheOReport1994 You never said anything about character development, just two superficial aspects (sparkling, and going to highschool)

  • @PsychoBatcave It's not O.K. if your inventing your own stupid species and calling them vampires. Fuck that shit, Twilight was fucking stupid.

  • @SurfaceCollison Really? is there a law that says authors can't alter fictional creatures to their liking?

  • @PsychoBatcave No, but there is a mandate of ethics that vampires should suck blood rather than cock.

  • @SurfaceCollison it's funny you say that, because Anne Rice vampires are the ones who choose men as mate where as there was zero homosexuality in all of Twilight.

  • @PsychoBatcave Well at least Lestat is out of the closet.

  • @SurfaceCollison Oh, so what you REALLY have an issue with is that Edward doesn't admit to his alleged homosexual tenancies? Dully noted. I'm glad you feel so passionately about people being open with their sexuality.

  • @TheOReport1994 Why do you even compare edward with lestat? They are so different. And btw, there's a reason why Edward goes to school and why lestat doesn't do such a thing.

  • Does this music give anyone else chills???

  • dude i love this movie, and the soundtrack so much.... like this song and several others from the movie would fit perfectly to an rpg game like Baldur's Gate.

  • who the hell was the one person who disliked this.

  • @goldenstripewarrior A twilight fan perhaps. They don't know what a REAL vampire is. Lestat is much more than a real vampire. i freakingly adore him.

  • Louis: "My offer was open to anyone. But it was a vampire that accepted!"

Then Lestat bites him and asks:

Lestat: "U still want death? Or have u tasted enough?" with blood all over his mouth

    Louis: "Enough."

    Best part ever!!! xD

  • whaaaaaat ??? remake???? hell no! not without them!

  • love this piece!

  • don't remake it, but do a proper blu-ray-version. ><

  • j saw it 20 times! its the best film ever! O.o when they make a remake... j must kill them

  • This is by far the best vampire movie ever produced.

  • nice

  • they cannot make a remake!!!!!!!!

  • someone shoot the person who is going to remake this movie T^T

they should release the interveiw with the vampire in theaters again ^^ instead of remaking it. then lets see how many people attend the best classic vamp movie ever. then twlight will be down in the dumps! yay!!!

  • Someone needs to upload the movie itself...

    God I love this score.

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • They (Hollywood) remakes Interview with the Vampire, I just might as well boycott the thing! Why would they do that?! It's like remaking Gone with the Wind (not that the movie has anything to do with IWTV) but that is just sacreligious!

  • Like they say Lestat could kick Edwards shiny ass and Lupin would laugh at Jacob. I enjoyed IWTV better that QOTD just because of the actors.

  • What are you people talking about comparing Interview with the vampire with modern day Twilight Sorry but this is my opinion twilight sucks

and It would be interesting to see the re-make of this movie ! <3

  • I love the beginning of Born into Darkness, and I recognize the near end very well as the scene when Lestat comes to Louis and bites him before dropping him into the river. :3

  • love this movie and love all the characters lol brad pitt hot in this movie lol <3

  • louis or lestat??????? Louis ^_^ *drooooollllzzzzz*

  • Hey, now, let's not discuss that awful movie Twilight on a comment thread to Inteview With the Vampire (one of the best vampire movies and books EVER). This is a sacred place. xD

  • hollywood remakeing a movie that said everything it already could, not to add to it in any way but for profit and profit alone.

  • NOnononononono!!! Remaking this Movie !?!?!?!. Wtf are they doing !?.. You can't Remake the best!! Its PERFECT the way it is!

  • @raines111 Yes, I heard not only are they remaking Interview, but movies like Poltergeist, Frankenstein, Hellraiser, even heard the Lost Boys are planned to be remade somewhere in the year 2016. HollyWood needs to leave classics ALONE, either that or get some GOOD directors and Actors!

  • @raines111 dont scare me they wont do that for real!!!???

  • @raines111 Wait they're considering (or are) remaking this movie? How the hell can you remake it? I can't see it being done.

  • @raines111 they're remaking it?! ewwwww! this movie is perfect as is. The remake will suck!

  • @raines111 they can't do that! Tom and Brad were prefect for these roles.

  • @RosesNightengales Definitely tom cruise's best role ever.

  • @raines111 Anne Rice has confirmed they're not remaking Interview with the Vampire. They're currently working on adapting The Vampire Lestat and remaking Queen of the Damned--as it was the worst Vampire movie that mutilated Anne's work.

  • This is my opinion about RoboCop remake. Thank goodness MGM bankrupted.

  • @raines111 What?Where did you hear that from????

  • Looks like it's true. Robert Downer Junior seems to have found a niche turning classics into fodder for man-children.

  • :) Love this movie...a bit scared they are remaking it D:

  • best movie ever! and its not sh*t like twilight btw realy stupid....

  • this music is fantastic . i love their german voices especially Brads! i think the feelings you have when you're suddenly immmortal are more realistic in this film than in twilight...! armand says that many vampires aren't strong enough to live deathless because they have to live in a world which is changing while theyre changeless. but in twilight all vampires are fine! carlisle and his happy family live for eternity and love is everywhere in their beautiful life! isnt that a little bit kitchy?

  • @missjeanny111 Yes, it is.Twilight universe is not a place for strong willed creatures, which aren't ashamed of their dark, twisted nature. They exist but, they aren't acceptable and.. so is much worse.. aren't clever enough to get things in their own hands.

Twilight world is so safe, so predictable..and so boring.

Btw..Vampires in Twilight are fine cause they don't have deep thoughts or dilemma's;)

  • Anne Rice´s books are brilliant!!!

Now i understand why my friends told me that twilight´s vampires were not real vampires!!!

  • Lestat i love this vampire!!!!!!!!!!! and Anne Rice too...I rather the novel than the movie but is still good...sorry for my bad english...Love the classic vampire not the actual vampire...

  • i love the book and the film poor cladia

  • beautiful

  • holy shit!

right at 2:35 its batman theme!

u can tell this dude worte the music for that as well :-)

  • Er...Danny Elfman wrote the original score for Batman...

  • My bad. he did do one Batman film...but that score was never commercially released...

  • @Irene5851: I've read "The Vampire Chronicles" and "The Twilight Saga" and seen the films associated w/ both series and highly enjoy them both (although the film adaptation of Queen of the Damned kind of blows, notwithstanding the amazing soundtrack). Now, if you were to ask me who I would choose to spend the rest of eternity w/, Edward or Lestat, hands down, I would choose Lestat.

  • Omg, Lestat is a sexy god ._. He's my favorite :D Personally, Id like to throw Stephanie Meyer in a well full of angry twilight haters and then tear off all Edward's sparklies. I think that's another way to kill a twilight vampire. Real vampires don't fucking sparkle! but i try not to rant about how i hate twilight to twilight lovers, it's rude. But yeah, id choose Lestat aswell :D

  • @TreesAreYourFriend

hear ye hear ye, vampyrs + sunlight = X sparkly sparkly skin..

    Obnoxious!

  • @NawsChicky same for me the twilight saga is ok but the vampire chronicles is better but i prefer Louis than Lestat ^^

  • @NawsChicky Hey finally a not hater. I haven't read the vampire chronicles yet but I've read the twilight saga. I must say that if I had to choose the characteristics that define a "Vampire" it would be a mix of Meyer's and Rice's vampire. Through history people have written thousands of vampire story but Meyer's and Rice's vampire I believe have the best and more believable qualities, abilities, weaknesses.

  • @NevermindVzla If vampires were to exist of course :P

  • @NevermindVzla - I completely agree. Though if I had to choose which type of Vampire I'd choose to be, I would have to say Ann Rice's vampires. The reason is that as they grow older, they become stronger. Much stronger. The 3rd oldest at 6000, Khaman can read the minds of humans and vampires alike, and like Meyer's vampires, the older Rice's vampires get, the harder their skin becomes, till, like Khaman, it's like stone. Meyer's vampires, while very interesting, are stuck as they are.

  • @japanimefan02 That's a quite interesting point of view you have, nothing like a good exchange of ideas :D

I have a tendency to meyer's vampires, although rice made a work of art it self. The qualities Meyer gave to Vampires are closer to be a condition than powers from the Darkness, also she gave them characteristics that could have been as well misinterpreted and turned into myths through the centuries... which is something I like, 'cause it's something that has actually happened in --->

  • @japanimefan02 -->our world... and example of this is a genetic condition that made people grow hair all over their bodies, like animals. The lack of knowledge and understanding from people through the centuries made them believe they were "werewolf"... characteristics and conditions that were misinterpret and turned into a myth. This is what I like about Meyer's world... the characteristics she gave her Vampires could easily be easily be mistaken by people 200 hundred years ago if such -->

  • @japanimefan02 --> creatures existed. For example the way they are turned into Vampires. A venom that makes you go through an unmeasurable pain to then leave you paralyzed while you become one of them, a paralysis that can last days, even weeks. At some point of this paralysis you stop breathing and your heart stops beating (making you look like a dead person). So if we think about it, what is the greatest and oldest characteristic of a vampire ? being an undone, rising from the grave. --->

  • @japanimefan02 -->Now we've always heard the old story of someone being beaten by a vampire, then falling into a painful sickness and then dying, this person is buried and then a few days later people start seeing this "undead" walking amongst the living again in the village. So we have a bitten person, venom, pain, death, his family thinks this person is dead because well he has all the signs of a dead person, they bury him and days later when the transformation is over he escapes from the -->

  • @japanimefan02 --> grave. Assuming mythical creatures like vampires existed, I believe most of Meyer's qualities fit the resultant modern myths about Vampires. Rice gave them some unique qualities to her vampires too, which is why I stand for a mix of both, but if I had to choose I'd choose Meyer's first. The venom and transformation are not the only qualities I like, they're just a couple amongst many. Let's say Meyer's makes it sound more like a possible subject for science then occultism-->

  • @japanimefan02 -->Which is an idea I like a lot. Based on Rice's world, how would you explain the name "undead" if no one saw them die actually ? No one had a funeral or a cold body with no heartbeat to actually affirm they were dead ? to then bury them and after see them leave the grave (as the old European myths and legends say). In Rice's world the transformation takes very short time. I could literally go to the nest room, drink lestat's blood, come back to my room and be a vampire.--->

  • @NevermindVzla -If you actually read Anne Rice's Interview the the Vampire book, you would find out that the transformation takes days as well. The body has to completely die, and the vampirism has to spread, just like the vemon in Meyer's books. The movie version of Interview with the Vampire gives an annotated version: Yes there is the painful death, but then the body comes back, and it takes them at least 3 days to completely die. LIke the venom, the blood of the maker has to spread.

  • @japanimefan02 -> as accurately as we do now a days) so this people who seemed to be dead was buried alive to then wake up in the coffins(eh ? get it ? vampires rise from their coffins) and when they did they would try to desperately to get out of there by scratching the inner walls, most of them did not succeed. The people above the ground saw this marks (that were not there) later and thought the dead had "risen". See what I mean by Meyer's qualities fitting many of the facts of the real -->

  • @japanimefan02 --> world ? Of course this is only my point of view, and I completely respect yours, variety is good. Is good to find someone with an open mind.

I didn't know Rice's vampires took that long to transform,I guess we should then forget most of my explanation down there :P

  • @japanimefan02 Quite an interesting discovering for me :P We must then forget most of my explanation down there. But again, this is why I stand for a mix of both, Rice has as well given her vampires admirable qualities. I suppose we agree on that.

  • @NevermindVzla -I too have been reading Meyer's books, and like her vampires too. I take the view that her vampires are an addition to the already rich lore of one of the most fascinating mythical creatures. I would not mind being one of Meyer's vampires on one stipulation: I get to decide the era I'm made in, which is the 25th century BCE, or sometime between 2500 and 2400 BCE. That would make me, by the time of the twilight books, around 4500 years old. The same age I want in Rice's series.

  • @NevermindVzla -The reason is, is because she gives no exact date as to when her vampires came into existence, which give the readers some room to imagine. Unlike Rice's vampires, which have a definite date: No earlier than 4000 BCE, because their Queen became the first vampire at that time, and without her, they would either have never existed, or would cease to exist unless someone took her power by eating her brain and heart, which is where the spirit that made her resides.

  • @japanimefan02 now that you mention it indeed Meyer didn't mention their origins, I hadn't given much thought to it before. Well personally one of the things i like about meyer is that she brought her Vampires closer to science and farther from occultism, no crucifixs, no holy water, no running water, no ultra extraordinary magical powers, no burning with the sunlight. As i said before, more of a condition than "powers from the darkness" which i likw a lot

  • @japanimefan02 of course Meyer's world isnt totally perfect from my point of view. i would have added a couple things if i were her, maybe more noticeable fangs and of course some photo sensitivity that made long exposure to the sunlight not harmful, but uncomfortable. you to stay more tuned with the basic myth line. I loved the fact they coukd see and 8th color, that was awesome. I would have used that 8 color as the ability to see UV light which could have later on explained an extra-->

  • @japanimefan02 --> "whereever the sunlight touched its skin it bursted in flames". you know its not the first time people exagerate things in the past. And the list of this "histiry-like" qualities goes on, i simply love that :P

  • @NevermindVzla - You said that Meyer brought vampires out of the occult to a degree, and there is one thing a little inconsistent: I can understand why Meyer didn't give her vampires fangs: How would you explain the growth of said teeth? The only way I could think of is that new ones grew in and forced the human ones out. I can understand Rice's world with the supernatural, but not Meyer's. Her vampires having fangs is understandable: Their teeth are stronger than steel. -->

  • @japanimefan02 Actually that0s not such a bad idea.. I'd be ok if someone told me that during the long process of transformation bone started growing, bone that pushed some of the old teeth out... after all that happens to us when we're little... so it doesn't sound that crazy when you're talking about the undead.

  • @NevermindVzla --> With unbreakable teeth, having fangs would be a little unnecessary. If you think about it though, many forms of vampire entertainment circumvent the photosensitivity: Drake from Blade III, Selene from Underworld Evolution, The Queen and Lestat from the QotD movie, and many others. Plus if you want them to be more in line with the basic myth, what about garlic, or silver or other weaknesses? What really would constitute the base myth in the end?

  • @japanimefan02 I know but what has been the basic line for vampires no matter whose world ? Blood, dead, some weakness towards the sun, fangs, strength.. The garlic , silver, "can I come in" things are just adds on. In fact as you know I'm not a fan of "oh no the sun ! bang ! burst in flames !" thing.. but I do vote for something that makes them become night walkers, whether a mild photo sensitivity or why not, mild sun burns after long exposure, but not bursting in flames !---->

  • @japanimefan02 -->As to Meyers world, her vampires could actually see an 8th color, which is cool, it actually could be another way to refer to what Louis said, " Seeing the world through vampire eyes is something no human can imagine". Meyer's vampires also had an enhanced vision, they could see way farther than we can, they also see almost complete dark as if it was dusk or something like that. In their own words "I could tell it was dark but still I could see every detail". --->

  • @japanimefan02 --> So from were I see it that 8th color might as well be UV light.. mix that with the fact that they can see perfectly on a dark night and you have a great formula to at least give an a reason to why vampires don't go out during the day very often. I'm not saying it should kill them, I'm saying it should be annoying to them... light is annoying even to us sometimes when our eyes aren't adapted to it, so vampires could be in that perpetual situation. Of course Meyer didn't do -->

  • @japanimefan02 --> didn't do it like that. It's just one of the possible explanations I'd give if I was creating such a novel. Certain forms of life can indeed see UV light... and well on earth the greatest source of UV light is... yes the sun. [ Copyright 2011 ].

As to the "sparkling" skin, in our previous talk I said it was a good detail, but in the movie they exaggerated a bit. I believe they should've made it look more like the skin of a person who's consume silver for too long --->

  • @japanimefan02 -->The point is .. in the movie they should have made their skin like that. Perhaps people wouldn't talk so much crap about twilight if they had.

Last but not least, the fangs, yes the Twilight vampires did not have "fangs", they didn't "need" them but it would've been cool if Meyer had put some, at least tiny ones just to make it look cool :P.

Now, if you read the "Midnight sun" chapters released by Meyer, Edward says while talking to a lady at school, that he had to be-->

  • @NevermindVzla I thought that, like the more original vampires, they had fangs that would protrude from their gums, located above two teeth opposite each other in both left and right sides of the mouth. Not that that explains what you've said xD But those are the types of fangs I believed they had.

  • @japanimefan02 --> he had to be careful while smiling to her and I quote; " I had to be careful not to show too many teeth, that might frighten her". He talked about how showing his teeth might give away the secret they kept, implying that even if they didn't have "Fangs" they did have pretty sharp teeth, teeth that might look a little unnatural if you could take a good look at them.

  • @japanimefan02 --> So I became a vampire during the 5 minutes I was in the room next door, what would people say ? "oh geez you look pale, and you drink blood " if we went to the 1600's in Europe they'd probably say "the devil had possessed me" instead of "He's an undead", 'cause no one actually saw me die. In fact many of the "vampirism cases" of the late 1800's were cause because they buried people who seemed to be dead (since BACK in those times they didn't know how to identify death--->

  • Comment removed

  • @NawsChicky - lol me too. Edward is teen material. Lestat is more than that.

  • @NawsChicky LESTAT edward sucks.
