@Acrimonator why did you have to stop here. There are plenty of other videos you could have watched and know nothing about. Ever read a book on either topics??
Atheists claim that the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. If I believe that God exists, then I'm obliged to proof God? But why don't Atheists back up their claims? I mean, if they have such a beef with what Theists say and do, then they're making a claim that the Theists had a choice in the matter. They're claiming that Freewill exists. Shouldn't they first prove the Freewill exists before holding anyone accountable for their actions? Blame the Big Bang and Evolution instead.
Wayman29 it is very cool you could watch a RRV and not freak out yell into the camera ect. Civil discourse is good for society. It's also good to read or watch things you don't agree with. So important.
Now..Now.. no yelling. So it's think like me to get verbally abused. I got that from religion. Sorry friend. Some sheep are more free to roam then others.
Nice to see someone mentioning Joseph Campbell. I guess you got the right point of his work. If we don't use it just as a metaphor, we kill it. That's exactly the problem of major religions today. They turned a spiritual system of myths and metaphors into literate claims, thus being competitive, arrogant and divisive.
If anything this video supports the notion of you having a disorder.
"people be like water, if I think like a Buddhist I'm a Christian... 5 colors makes me blind" [bobs head back and forth, breathes heavily into microphone].
Not only do I have a disorder but now a low self esteem.....I'll be over to watch some of your videos to see how it's done and to get some pointers. I need help in ego building PHD in Biology.. And I need some good insults Possibly it will somehow help me out....
It works twice as good with those who get it. I was waiting for you to use the term "Straw man" at some point. See some of my other videos. We might agree.
I had a glimmer of hope that you may be able to research and have the ability to think freely about the metaphor, abstract expressionism and anthropology. I guess fundamentalism produces carbon copies of sheep on both ends of the spectrum. You would make a great evangelical.
It's god to know you can come to all those conclusions about me after only watching one video. I be over to check out your videos and see just how normal you are compared to the rest of us here on YouTube. I reserved my opinion until I have seen a few videos you have done, even though I have suspicions your just as crazy as the rest of us. I'm holding my breath waiting to find out just how superior you really are. Rushing to your page right now!
The word atheism ignores the whole point of not believing in a God. It implies some sort of choice, and forces others to reason that you are ignoring as opposed to completely dismissing the idea of a deist power. I completely understand the point a person is trying to convey with they introduce themselves as an atheist, but why not use "Hi. I am a nihilist." It avoids the "game" entirely, and reserves no seat at the table for religious talk.
ThomasZD-You have misunderstood the abstract expressionism , metaphore, and the transformation of the myth. The fact that I am possibly one of the few to come forward in such a way shows possibly I am the only one at the table and other refuse to sit with me. But being alone isn't all that bad because I end up being free from the blanket of false presumptions that come with labels.
Truth is a reliable description of reality, past or present. This is a much debated definition in philosophy, but I think we can all agree with that basic point.
Belief is the psychological state in which an individual is convinced of the truth or validity of a proposition or premise without the ability to adequately prove their main contention for other people who may disagree.
Faith is a form of belief usually with specific reference to a God or Gods.
Since being convinced of the truth of something is belief, I figure that the best thing to be convinced about the truth of is truth itself :) so my thinking stems from the existance of an unknown ultimate truth, and looking for the best method to find that truth.
Atheism is an empty cup, not a full one. That's its very definition! It is not the belief that there is no God, that would be unscientific (ironically). It is the lack of belief in God, a specific God, usually Yahweh. Atheism is about opening the mind, or is supposed to be. It is a mis-used term, and for some reason to most people denotes a closed-minded view of the world.
Actually Atheism is not open minded you are confusing agnosticism with atheism and they are diferent. Kashi1987 find out about these things before you spout ignorance. Agnostics believe in nothing but the possibility of god is alright. Atheist by definition denies the existance of one and is exactly the opposite of what you said.
the YOU would describe me as an agnostic, using your personal definitions of the terms. I know that my definition of atheism is right... no question... y'know, the whole dictionary thing :)
atheism - "I don't believe in God" (NOT "I believe that there is no God")
What a perfect way to put it. I am an agnostic-atheist personally, and I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. Kudos my friend, you have gained a sub with your insights and wisdom. Keep up the good work.
The term Evangelical atheist isn't yours, nor is it a new one. Having said that there's nothing wrong with being passionate about what you believe. It's healthy though to always consider the option that you may be wrong. ;)
I always do consider being wrong...I just goggled the term after I posted the video...you are correct about the term not being new...It sounds good to use anyways...Thanks for the comment.
LOL. A good response to the ignorant. Dawkins like propasals of the rational ideal come from The Enlightenment and not scientific community par-se. Please never be put down by the ignorant or the losers in life that have eyes but do not see, ears but do not hear. Your wide approach is refreshing and can fire debate internally but the unwise will never understand it. Be of good cheer and KBO. :)
What a load of crap... How could you link buddhism to christianity ? That's non sense... They couldn't be more different..

What is the definition of "Truth", "belief" and "Faith"?
Can a "belief" become your "Faith"?
Can a "belief" or "Faith" become true?
How can "belief" influence "Faith"?
Please compare and contrast there terms here. It would be interesting to see you a step farther.
