@AniseTheBloody Castlevania Lament of Innocence was released in 2003. God of War (1) was released in 2005. If anything, it should be the other way around.
Personally I would've found it cooler fighting Medusa as a whole instead of her head alone, but it matters not: It's Medusa for pete's sake, the most awesome Gorgon in Greek mythology. (my bad if I'm wrong). One thing's for sure, mini Gorgon heads are still one of the most annoying enemies in Old school CV games. Kudos medusa for leaving quite an impression on me and having a cool boss fight music to boot.
The reason she was a giant head was because in the first Castlevania, that's what she was. Lord, is she hard to me in the originals, especially Castlevania Chronicles. By the time you reach the end of the stage, you have to carefully plan your moves because of her nasty attacks.
I have a hard enough time with the mini Medusa heads it all started in Stage 2 of the 1st CV game, they won't stop coming until you reach a certain point in the stage. I saw clips of the Medusa head boss in the old CV game, but I haven't reached that far yet. Maybe during Christmas vacation.
I don't have CV Chronicles yet, but I will get it that's for sure. In your opinion, knowing the SCV4 is the best remake IMO of the 3 CV1 games, how would you rate "Chronicles" remake of Castlevania 1?
This was probably the best Medusa fight ever. For a Castlevania game that had disappointingly little platforming (the N64 versions rocked all over it in that department) you sure you to jump around a lot.
you thought she was a pain? how about if your new to the game and she was the first one you went for (thats what i did XD) and you know what i did beat her XD
this game has a different feel from the new one...the new one if more relistic while thsi is almost kiddish~

@purpleblizzard: I thought it was appropriate fighting the giant head. Just like how she appeared as a boss in the original castlevania.
