@16yearoldwhiteboy I learn by listening to artists that I like. I take teir style one measure at a time until I have memorized the piece in the way I'd like to perform it. hope that helps.
@allendale1962 Yeah that's a nice idea thanks great job i hope I can one day play this fluidly! i love the glissandos too make me wanna dance. how long did this one take jw?
This song has been around forever. My late father-in-law had what was probably the first recording of this by the orginal dixie land jazz band on one of those old time 78's. I really appreciate hearing your redition. It is fantastic.
Oh sorry I have one other one that I think would be cool to see played in your style....16 Tons, by a lot of different artists but I remember it from Tennessee Ernie Ford
OK... but you are cut off from the request line for now. I have too many songs to do! Sorry. I am not getting paid to pay, so I have to do what I can and catch up as time allows me to. Sincerely, Allen Dale.
I guess I have a few to add to the list whenever you have time. The Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton would be an interesting one to try. Maybe The Man In Black by Johnny Cash
I'm kinda backed up for the moment. Might wanna wait a little bit. If you DO have suggestions, I'll write them down, but don't look for a speedy reply. Thanks.
"While compositional credit for the tune is fuzzy, it is generally credited to the members of the Original Dixieland Jass Band who first recorded and copyrighted it in 1917: Nick La Rocca, Eddie Edwards, Henry Ragas, Tony Sbarbaro, and Larry Shields with lyrics by Harry Da Costa. "

No problem. Take an afternoon off . . . if you really need it. Grab a nap. Have a quick sandwich from the deli..
We're patient.

SMOKIN' HOT!!!!
Everyone's better than the last one. You have a fabulous repertoire and have done all my favorites.
I tried REALLY hard to come up with some songs you HAVEN't done. Here's a short list that i think you could set a new standard:
McNamara's Band
Virginia Reel (I think there's a version on the Lord of the Dance CD)
We're In the Money (from Forty Second Street)
. . . and this may be obscure but it could be a lot of fun for you . . an Irish dance "Treble Reel".
TheRealDoofinator 2 years ago
I'll keep those suggestions in mind. Thanks
