Knowing how to use other programs doesn't make you a better editor. It's like saying if you know how to use 3 different music editing programs makes you a better DJ. Everything that can be created with MBL can be created with Sony Vegas, which is part of the reason why I created this parody. MBL makes it easier for everyone to achieve > reason why it is becoming overused.

F.ex. maybe best editor in the scene, st0ka, uses only AAE, what makes him pretty unique - vegas can't provide him enough tools to make colors&effects he wants. @wwwlgbdk I'm not a beast editor myself, nor am I trying to become that. Using MBL might not be a negative thing, but it is (no matter what you say) much more simple to create colors 'that look good' in people eyes' - you can basically create colors and give it with a document to another guy, and that guy doesn't have to anything himself. How is that learning? How can that in any way make you a better editor when you can practically do nothing and have "good looking" colors?

@DeeJayTimo Well, to be honest, you can do the exact same thing with default Vegas plugins. There is a feature where you can export presets and others can then import them. So MBL is not a problem there.
MBL is not simpler to use. It seems more simple to the untrained eye due to the simple interface, but it does require some knowledge about stuff, so simple it isn't. I really do not see the problem with using presets. People learn from them. As long as they try themselves, its no problem for me.

I just don't see how people can 'learn' by using presets. They haven't made it. Thats like saying you learn from not doing your homework. I doubt new editors really know much about editing when they first start, so I really doubt they're gonna learn from presets

@DeeJayTimo Taking a simpler approach and being simple are two different things. Vegas for example, takes a simpler approach to video editing than other programs do (say Adobe Premiere), but it still requires skill to utilize.
Tutorials and presets help a lot of people become better. Just like in school. You go to school to learn stuff that you wouldn't have found out yourself. Same principle with tutorials. Of cause people in the world are lazy, that's the reason we developed technology.
