wow, the early version of the velociraptor, doesn´t fit in many external hdd docking stations because the interface is on the drive itself... nowadays you connect the velos not to the drive itself, the 3,5" version has an extra board for the interface...
too bad that its dead... i really would like to hear the seek pattern of those
I have 2 Maxtors running at up to 40.000+ hours now. Bought a Velociraptor 600gb for the speed, not for the reliability. I wonder how long it will last. Samsung and Maxtor are the two most reliable drives i ever had
@christiancapella1 i dont know but i have over 3 other maxtor drives and they dont fail. One of them is 80gb and i had it for 3 years still working great as a backup drive.
anything to fix it? and why does this happen?! i just bought mine and i tried transfering a file onto it and it crashed and then when it started up that happend

30GB: Quite uncommon for a Maxtor hard drive. How many GB's was it? Cause the older Maxtors were better then new Maxtors.
