@Kay2be2M That's not totally true! My hair has to be washed everyday and my stylist told me the main concern is just split ends. But I deep condition once a week and I've never been told my hair is brittle or dull. Actually the last 2 stylists I went to told me my hair felt like silk and wanted to know my secret. You just have to know your hair type.

@bre199cam what did u not understand? how washing everyday can dry up u'r hair and make it brittle and dull? well it's true. Even the top hairstylists will tell u that. Only people with naturally sleek straight hair can do that, but it's still not recommended. I used to wash everyday and my hair got dry and nappy. People with straight hair worry about the oilyness but FYI the scalp produces more oil if u wash everyday cause it feels it needs to replenish the oil that you took away by washing.

@hotmustache101 Ok,If you have naturally straight healthy hair washing it everyday won't make much of a difference. But those with curly or wavy hair shouldn't. I had a mixture of both and I have a lot of hair but each individual strand is very thin which means it'll dry up quickly and puff up to twice it's size if I shampoo everyday. If u feel u must wash everyday try switching to a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner like Loreal. It's helped me a lot.

@hotmustache101 yeah the damage isn't as serious as using heat products but in time it does strip the hair of moisture, makes it dry and brittle and more prone to split ends. Many people say "I have to wash everyday cause it get's really oily" but what they don't realize is that the scalp feels the need to over produce oil because it's being taken away everyday. The less u wash, the less oil your scalp will eventually learn to produce. You are literally training your scalp.
