What the hell was that guy bad01 on when he said something like that. Calling you English and saying something like pip wot go drink some tea! Does he think all British people are English, if so hes just a hick American who should learn his history. I hate seeing how naive those people can be.
You say fuck the Irish when you live in Ireland????? So fuck yourself????? hmmmmmmmmmm...... Northern Ireland is Ireland.....It's in the Irish Constitution that Ireland is the ENTIRE Island. Sorry for you. Don't bother to reply. I'm correct and you are unintelligent. Bye unintelligent human.
Irish kilt: SAFFRON(sometimes another colour).Historically SAFFRON.Also what Scots wore before tartan. The Scots dressed for cold. The Irish retained the ancient saffron kilt. The Irish kilt: volumous shirt dyed in saffron,PLEATED,& drawn up above the knees by a belt .UNDERNEATH the Scottish still wore the Irish shirt also pleated for warmth .England banned Irish dress (Scottish later on) & reinvented it as a short kilt for hot climates of Africa, Middle East in British army regmts.
We are talking age here. The Irish did wear the belted plaid. Like a sleeveless tunic to the knees with a belt.
You'll see a few bands wear a kilt with a saffron colour and that is the most original one, really. Cuz it is the hue of piss, which is what was used as a colour fastener.
Kilts is a slice o the bottom of the old. With the top shouldered part, the plaid, gone.
Don't be such an arse. The Scottish do not wear kilts as a standard form of dress, it is a ceremonial form of dress. I am from Ireland and all my life have seen Irish wearing kilts on St Patricks day as the parades are ceremonial. I put it to you that you are the ingnorant one here. As the Irish and Scotts are both descendants of the Celts is it not unbelievable that they may share common traits?
Putting the tartan question aside, they're playing "Scotland the Brave" on St. Patrick's Day. I know it's basically the only tune that Americans know, but still...
Not entirely true, most nations of the celtics wore some form of kilt, perhaps not tartan in Ireland or Wales but still kilts none-the-less. Wearing kilts with a more modern Welsh or Irish tartan is completely proper, and encouraged if you have that ancestry. The kilts pre-dated trousers, so don't be so quick to judge, what you truly don't know about.
