I was just cringing when I saw that you were going to pull the blade towards you in that little jump ring holder. And you were using your hand to brace the holder and just one tiny slip and there goes the blade to your thumb. OUCH! Cut away from you. You will need your thumbs for all those chainmaille bracelets. Otherwise, thank you for the video. I enjoyed it until that one part. =)

Thank you for your nice comment and feedback. The nice thing about the little steel plate is that the blade sinks down into it and the top plate stops the blade at the end...so as scary as it looks it actually is pretty safe. :)

Very good video. Great tips in there. But I have one piece of advice for you. When wrapping the coil wearing a glove can cause problems. The glove can easily get caught and pull you hand in potentially making any injury worse as it is crushed as opposed to cut. Better than a glove is to use a bare hand with a strip of leather pulled accross the coil to tension the wire but if it does get caught it will not drag you in. I have made around 10,000 rings with this technique and never had an injury.
