  • What the fuck? A Waterworld game? No wonder why Ocean died.

But the movie made $176 million, which is TWICE as much as the US box office!

  • OCEAN presents Waterworld...How ironic.

  • @shenloken2 I think 'fitting' is the word you were looking for.

  • 3 people drowned while diving.

  • Heavenly stuff.

  • this is so beautiful :D

  • these hidden pieces are what drive me to get my degree in theory/comp and compose music for vidya games ;)

  • @skcoder Gems are always hidden under dirt.

  • This sounds like it could be a lost track from Donkey Kong Country or some other good game.

  • great song

  • Sounds like futuristic porn music...not a bad at all!

  • I wrote all of the music, Jonathan wrote part of the music driver. The unused track you have listed was one I wrote that was unused for another game, however Keith Tinman wrote most of The Flintstones music.

  • @MrBuscuit Thanks! I updated the videos' info and replaced his name with yours. I'll add another song from Waterworld soon and clarify it to my viewers.

  • @MrBuscuit Wow man - it's really rare to get response from actual artists of games old as this! I hope you're still on YouTube from time to time, because - seriously - I was just listening to music from this game, and it's so very unique and awesome. Would like to know more about your work! :D

  • @MrBuscuit So is it you who wrote the waterworld game soundtrack? I remember loving these themes when i was smaller and i used to play the game, in my opinion they are the best themes from a snes game. The music from the intro is especially beutifull and inspiring.

  • So nice to see some of these files on YouTube as I had lost them as they were written so long ago. And yes, they were definitely Floyd influenced. :) Its really good to hear you all like the music, thank you. (Dean Evans)

  • @MrBuscuit Ahh, now that's a great surprise! I really need a clarification, did you or Jonathan Dunn compose the music for this game? And what about the SNES Flintstones game? That one has an amazing unused song in it, also in my list. Thanks for the great music!

  • Respond to this video... @pm2981988 yeah! i noticed that! might the composer be a floyd fan and did an homage? the wholg song has a pink floyd feel!

  • I like the tenderness of the melodic part at 2.00

  • I haven't played this game, but this is a really really good track.

  • Ironic...Waterworld made by Ocean XD

  • @Scrod99 lol thats not irony lol

  • Kinda nice for a movie-->game game

  • what in sam's hell...perfect.

  • This is definitely one of the most enchanting soundtracks I've heard in a LONG time. I especially enjoy 1:00.

  • I heard this for the first time today, very nice soundtrack on this game. Almost sounds like something the Follins would do..

  • Why does such a lousy game have such a beautiful song?

  • It's really surprising honestly but how bad is the game exactly?

  • I can't help but to notice similarities between the intro to this track and Pink Floyd's "Signs of Life" from Momentary Lapse of Reason. Any thoughts?

  • @pm2981988 was just thinking the same thing. the first little riff, I was like " that has pink floyd written all over it."

  • this awesome song would have been better for a DKC stage

  • As I listen to this; I'm drinking a beer and I feel amazingly mellow and calm right now.

For a crappy game it has a kick ass soundtrack!!

  • This song alone is better than the game it's in and the movie the game is based on.

    That's saying a lot.

  • Wow, this music is amazing...

I guess even shit games can have good music xD

  • GOD am I glad I randomly downloaded the soundtrack to this game during my last visit to zophars. If there were a radio station that played music like this 24/7 I'd set all 5 buttons and never change it.

  • Yeah, a VGM radio station would be nice, but I think they would have legal issues.

  • and they would have more legal issues than a normal radio station, why?

  • Okay, that's a point but I think it's a bit diffrent because "normal" music is made to be streamed on the radio and other companys are behind VGM.

  • Well, some VGMs are released on CD soundtracks and iTunes and whatnot.

So I'm sure they could do it without to much an issue. I'm sure if they notify the composers and companies ahead of time it would be no problem.

But I don't know how radios work with/around "legal issues".

  • @silv4hs Check out Rainwave. It sounds like this is what you guys need.

  • Wow, thanks. I'm going to check it out later.

  • Rainwave is cool :) For even more retro check the site theoldcomputer and the streaming radio section for a list of radio stations such as kohina, slay, cgm uk, ocremix, demovibes etc. I also listen to game music stations on the Live365 radio network site such as ChudahFM, 1UP! and many more.

  • This, aquatic ambiance from Donkey Kong Country and Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 are imo the greatest underwater tracks of all time. Amazing song.

  • I think I saw a game at an arcadey place where you get on a jet ski and simulate actually using a jet ski, it looked like the cover of this i think.

  • I REPEAT, It dosen't sound jap and this is, in part, why it's sounds so good.

  • it is simply unbelievable music as for video game, very detailed and recklessly beautiful.. one of my fav =) thx bro ..

  • ooo thank you a lot to post this!!! That theme in game make me dream a lot, swimming like mariner in the sea. I never forget these passage of music! I tried to record it but with not very wonderful results.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Not bad at all!

  • The movie is pretty good... The game blows more chunks than a person with a high fever who drinks a gallon of milk surely will.

  • Eer... you like the movie, but it doesn't mean it's good fella... that's it.

  • hilarious comment man, I have to say

and so true -- the soundtrack is quite good but the game b.l.o.w.s.

  • I can't stop listenin the theme appear at 2,00

    Magnifique.

  • what the fuck?

    this blew my fucking mind!

  • It dosen't sound jap...

  • You sir, have found a diamond among the hidden gems.

    I love it!

  • indeed really peacefull.

  • Gems can be found in all places, including ancient crappy video games.

  • Hey, this one is pretty catchy

  • Man, you need to find another ones like this... After listening to it repeteadly I have to say it's one of the best you have posted... Thanks.

  • It's definitely one of my personal favorites as well. I'll try to think/find other ones similar to this. :)

  • I'm sure this game sucked as much as the movie. This does sound pretty good at least.

  • suckerworld?

  • Very nice!

  • awesome man. I love this kind of stuff. I never played this game so it is purely nostalgia of an era that has me groovin.

  • Love aquatic video game music.

  • Never played this, but this song................It brings tears of joy to my eyes at its pure epicness.......

  • About time you got to this. Now for the rest of the music from Waterworld.

  • Stop hating on the movie, it´s not so bad.

  • 40% on Rottentomatoes. I guess it's watchable if you know not to expect much.

  • nice song, crappy game ;)

  • Just imagine if DKC3 was renamed Diving, 260 would be Diving - Waterworld...err yeah :)

  • I was hoping we'd hear the Virtual Boy version. lol :D & ur right brego, it does have the feel of Stickerbrush.

  • Sounds like something from Skinemax.

  • Ocean always had some pretty good soundtracks. I haven't heard this one before. Thanks!

  • well this came out of nowhere. Never knew of this games existence or the movie for that matter. Somebody already mentioned that it sounds like something from Donkey Kong and I agree.

  • Horrible Movie, Bad Game, Good Song...

  • It has a similar feeling to the one of Stickerbrush Symphony... Relaxing melody, too bad it's used for a game based on a wasteful movie

  • Anyone else find it funny that Waterworld was developed and published by Ocean?

  • sweet

  • A relaxing ambient masterpiece on the SNES. Too bad it's wasted on such a bad game. It actually lasts a whole 5:42, there is no loop.

  • Wow. I was just gonna ask you if this was a good game (I know it's a game based on a bad movie, but the inclusion surprised me). Now I don't have to put myself through mindless suffering.
