Yes, Kingston is the masters of memory. I used to prefer San disk Pen drives and now my first choice is Kingston. I've always had outstanding performance from the first boot and on with Kingston. Another really good brand is A data merely based on all the positive reviews of many of their memory modules. why are these rams NOISY? do you think i have a defective ram? i ran memtest on it whole evening found nothing. but its noisy! should i RMA it and get corsair instead?
@niels2029 i never heard any ram making noise. it might be a defective capacitor on the power suply or video card instead. if you changed the voltage tahst might be the issue
its how fast you ram is running bigger number slower ram, BUT!!!! you need to slow it down to make your processor work most of the time when you get to higher speeds or your PC crashes and reboots.
I also have 2 of this RAM. I gain overclock until 1780Mhz for both but for one RAM only i got 1760Mhz. Both without increase the voltage. Im using Gigabyte P55-USB3L. Emm.. WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF PRIME95 ???? PLEASE ANSWER
why overclocking the hardware its done to run at normal temperature why trying of making overheat your hardware to get a 400-500 mhz of more me i don't understand its not like in the time when there was only a Pentium 2 ruining at 350mhz with 128kb of cache and you overclock it to get 150-200 mhz of more so you was sure of getting enough of frequency but now you get easy a processor of 4x3ghz with 8-12 mb cache if its not enough fast i don't understand .....
I'm getting 8 gigs of this stuff for my high-performance computer I am currently building. If your "2 gigs of this=4 gigs of normal RAM" rule still applies, I will have the equivilant of 16 fricking gigs of RAM!
The site i buy from got me worried when they listed the Kingston HyperX 8GB kit as cheaper than 6gb and even 4gb kits from Corsair and Mushkin. Thanks to you im assured that Kingston delivers cheaper, better and more :D
all i will use is 1066 or 1333, anything higher is an absolute waste of time and money, just get 8 gigs memory , more than enough for any normal gaming system.
1600 and up is for power users and bench markers or complete idiots that think they are benefiting from it. really your eye would never notice the difference between 800Mhz - 1333Mhz
Hey, Im thinking of getting the Kingston HyperX KHX1600C8D3T1K2/4GX (2x2GB) (with the awesome heatsink lol) and an AMD Phenom II 955 x4 Black Edition. Will I be able to run that RAM at 1600MHz or higher (if I overclock) or will it run at lower speeds?
I have 4x 2gb 1600mhz but it runs at 1333mhz. how can i raise it to 1600mhz if i can. Cause i go to Bios settings and then theres no option to run it at 1600mhz
Please help... Gotta build 8Gb system on ASUS M4A87TD-EVO, but due to poor supply, can build it just with 2Gb modules, or dual channel kits (2x2Gb). Could you be so kind and recommend something? How about KINGSTON 2GB 1600MHz DDR3 KHX1600C9D3/2G times 4? It is not going to be a OC machine... Thank you!
So, please, 1. with CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 Quad-Core will this works at 1600mhz or 1333 mhz... and MY motherboard support 1600OC mhz Ram... 2. 6GB DDR3 1333mhz vs. 4GB DDR3 1600mhz - For gaming... Thanks and sorry to my english.
I got these same modules from Kingston, I checked the product number and i'm running these on an AM3 motherboard with Athlon II 3Ghz *3.
Now the auto settings of my MSI BIOS puts these Babies to 667 MHZ and they now run on 1333 MHZ DDR. My question is why is that, must I manually put the DRAM bus-frequency to 800MHz instead of 667 which it defaulted on, And is that safe?
I bought 2x1gb of theese and a Gigabyte ep45t-udlr3 mobo but the clock on memory is 1333mhz.Why doesn't it run at 1600?The mobo is supposed to run 2200+.
I am hoping buy 4 x 2GB DDR3 Hyper at 1600MHz for a x58 4 way SLI classified, can we fix the hyper x cooling fan if i get 4x2gb DDR3 or are there any specific sets to buy if i am fixing the fan? and hw will the cost be in US$ tks
@smileforeverever yes, i ordered the 4 GB kit for my phenom 2 X4 965 build and it is a non XMP kit, XMP stands for Intel extreme memory profiles, XMP is meant for high end intel processors like their Core 2 extreme and X58 chips, this ram will do fine for you
You can't compare a 2g kit vs. 4gb kits. That isn't a fair comparison at all. The more ram you have, the more delay there will be for all the sticks to work together. Such minor differences also won't be noticed at all in real life applications or games. You will get far more benefit from the extra ram (4gb) than you will from anything else.
I have this RAM for my Crosshair III Formula mobo and I want to oc it to it's 1600 clock speed but I don't know how? When I manually pick 1600, my system wont start. haha. PCwiz please help me.
@mymom1234, that is why this kit I reviewed is not for the i7, and was tested on a AMD Phenom system. I said in the video that there is a triple channel core i7 kit which is different.
@PCWizKid Rally? Because I already have 2 at 1333mhz (4gb total) and I wanted to replace them with 2 of these, my motherboard says that it supports DDR3 1666+ (gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P) and I am using a Phenom II X4 965 at 3.4ghz. If I have to lower them at 1333mhz then it looks like I don't need them at all, or will my motherboard and CPU suport the 1600mhz? Thanks
@madzane94 It will run higher than 1600Mjz, but you then give up the latency speeds by doing that. So pick which is more important to you Latency or the Mhz
@PCWizKid So is kingston lying when they say that it is a 1600Mhz memory with 9-9-9-24 latency? because I tested these modules and the latency is 11-11-11-27 if set at 1600Mhz, they keep the 9-9-9-24 latency if set at 1333Mhz.
And what would be better for performance, higher frequency or lower latency?
@PCWizKid For the record, the numbers I wrote down before were for the 4GB kit, when I said that I tested these modules I meant the hyper x, not the exact kit shown in the video, sorry for the inconvenience. Anyone answering my previous comment will of course be welcome :)
@PCWizKid hi my useing a MSI , amd mainboard 770 c45 , and i read on the net it support up to 1333mhz and 1600 mhz OC, so will i be able to use this 1600mhz ram??
@supadupamadafaka Actually, it needs to be overclocked to 1600MHz in your BIOS if you have an AMD-based chipset. Max in an AMD chipset is 1333MHz without manual overclocking. Afaik, Intel mobos support much higher RAM clock rates without OC'ing.
@MrAleckazee I wouldn't recommend OC'ing RAM if you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing. RAM OC'ing results in such minimal perf increases that I don't think it's necessary unless you're building a rig specifically to benchmark (pointless). I'd go with 4 / 8 gb of some high quality 1333MHz memory, if I were you.
@ PCWizKid You say that I have to lower it to 1333, how to go to 800 MHz per channel, which has two. 1600 MHz total. I say that I saw the CPU-Z result in your video. Need to overclock your RAM?
I have a pair of OCZ Gold Edition 2 x 2 GB of 1600 on an AMD Phenom X4 965 and I can not get more than 1333 MHz Do you think it worthwhile to change some OCZ Gold for some Kingston HyperX?

@PCWizKid Would this ram work in an Asrock N68-S3 UCC motherboard? Some say you can't, however on the website it states it can use ddr3 1600 memory as overclocked.
I have watched almost all your videos and they are amazing!
I am planning to build an i5 system with the Kingston HyperX 1600 Mhz ram you have reviewed:
Mobo - P55 GD65
CPU - i5 750
GPU - 5850
I intend to use the rig mainly for gaming. Since you have not benchmarked the ram for gaming, will this 2GB ram outperform the 4GB kit of other manufacturer when it comes to gaming?
I mean , these do use 1.7v-1.9v unlike the G.skill ones that are on 1.6v or 1.5v if im not wrong .....Lower voltage , Same frequency and lower latency , WHAT TO GET?
O_O , WOW! unbelievable results .... HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE?!?! hmm....seems too good to be true , Should i get 4 Gigs of these or a G.Skill Ripjaws CL7 1600Mhz (2x2GB) kit?
hi with the phenom cant use memory with 2000mhz and that mother is capable for running that speed memory at 1600mhz because i have a ecs a790gxm-ad3 and appears only works with memory of 1333mhz i ask because i buy this memory the mother reconize or not
@HKSTechVideos, DDR2 is Dual Channel, DDR3 is Dual channel by default also unless it says on it and its sold in kits of 6GB. 4GB DDR3 kits are always dual channel.
ive had a couple of 4 gig Kingston 1333mhz DDR3 kits for weeks now which are still in their packaging
now i have a question i need to ask, someone told me the other day they're set to 1066mhz by default and i need to set it to the values specified by Kingston
would it be better to set the voltage and timings in the BIOS or just use software to do it in the OS?
i cant do this until i have the rest of the parts for my rig, but some advice would be really appreciated, peace
@undeadshooter, Hi, yes set the DDR at 1333Mhz in the BIOS first, then leave everything else at default and test the PC see if it runs fine , and check with the CPU-Z the times , you can then later go back to the BIOs after to tweak further.

Hello man,
I want to ask u if KINGSTON HyperX @ 4GB(2xDual Channel) @ 1333Mhz with 7ns latency is better then this
blade8889 2 years ago
Can you use 1600 MHz memory on AM3 system?
3t3rnalDamnation 2 years ago
@3t3rnalDamnation, yes you can, but you will need to lower it to 1333Mhz in the BIOS settings.
PCWizKid 2 years ago
TY for your reply, would you recommenc of buying 1333 MHz and overclocking it to 1600 MHz
or buying 1600 MHz and lowering it to 1333 MHz? :D
3t3rnalDamnation 2 years ago
@PCWizKid Rally? Because I already have 2 at 1333mhz (4gb total) and I wanted to replace them with 2 of these, my motherboard says that it supports DDR3 1666+ (gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P) and I am using a Phenom II X4 965 at 3.4ghz. If I have to lower them at 1333mhz then it looks like I don't need them at all, or will my motherboard and CPU suport the 1600mhz? Thanks
Aristowi 1 year ago
@PCWizKid hm? lower it?.. why? if it comes at 1600mhz why do you have to lower it :S my 790xt-a-ud4 says 1866 support
madzane94 1 year ago
@PCWizKid I don't get it.. didn't you just run yours on 1600? So why pay more for 1600 when it won't run =S
madzane94 1 year ago
@madzane94 It will run higher than 1600Mjz, but you then give up the latency speeds by doing that. So pick which is more important to you Latency or the Mhz
PCWizKid 1 year ago
@PCWizKid or you could up the voltage and do both :)
LFCforEver12341 1 year ago
@PCWizKid So is kingston lying when they say that it is a 1600Mhz memory with 9-9-9-24 latency? because I tested these modules and the latency is 11-11-11-27 if set at 1600Mhz, they keep the 9-9-9-24 latency if set at 1333Mhz.
And what would be better for performance, higher frequency or lower latency?
Thanks.
Aristowi 1 year ago
@PCWizKid For the record, the numbers I wrote down before were for the 4GB kit, when I said that I tested these modules I meant the hyper x, not the exact kit shown in the video, sorry for the inconvenience. Anyone answering my previous comment will of course be welcome :)

Hey, are Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600Mhz is compatible with AMD Athlon || x4 640 processor, and Asrock 790GX motherboard ?
manoragas 1 year ago
@PCWizKid aren't latency and mhz directly propotional
arun231990 1 year ago
@madzane94 It also depend on your motherboard. I use asus evo785 and run my ram at 1600Mhz with no problem.

@madzane94 I agree
TheMorbiousStone 1 year ago
@PCWizKid You shouldn't need that cause my motherboard takes up to 1800 mhz , i guess it's different on every motherboard.

@PCWizKid hi my useing a MSI , amd mainboard 770 c45 , and i read on the net it support up to 1333mhz and 1600 mhz OC, so will i be able to use this 1600mhz ram??
Markoton1 1 year ago
@PCWizKid Why it needs to be clocked down and what about mobos that supports for 1600 mhz ram? explain please =]
supadupamadafaka 1 year ago
@supadupamadafaka Actually, it needs to be overclocked to 1600MHz in your BIOS if you have an AMD-based chipset. Max in an AMD chipset is 1333MHz without manual overclocking. Afaik, Intel mobos support much higher RAM clock rates without OC'ing.
Cashcow55 1 year ago
@Cashcow55 So if I get this RAM togther with AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition, do I need to overclock it to 1600MHz? Can I go over that?
MrAleckazee 1 year ago
@MrAleckazee I wouldn't recommend OC'ing RAM if you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing. RAM OC'ing results in such minimal perf increases that I don't think it's necessary unless you're building a rig specifically to benchmark (pointless). I'd go with 4 / 8 gb of some high quality 1333MHz memory, if I were you.
Cashcow55 1 year ago
@Cashcow55 Ah ok. But the motherboard I'm getting gives you the choice of overclocking the RAM automatically if you want. Thanks anyway
MrAleckazee 1 year ago
@ PCWizKid You say that I have to lower it to 1333, how to go to 800 MHz per channel, which has two. 1600 MHz total. I say that I saw the CPU-Z result in your video. Need to overclock your RAM?
I have a pair of OCZ Gold Edition 2 x 2 GB of 1600 on an AMD Phenom X4 965 and I can not get more than 1333 MHz Do you think it worthwhile to change some OCZ Gold for some Kingston HyperX?
Thanks for the reply.

@PCWizKid Would this ram work in an Asrock N68-S3 UCC motherboard? Some say you can't, however on the website it states it can use ddr3 1600 memory as overclocked.

Hi PCWizKid!
Hoping for your reply!

Just one thing: CoreI5 doesn't use triple channel memory. But I understand as this video has been made before CoreI5 was out.

How to know if it is dual channel or single channel?
HKSTechVideos 2 years ago
@HKSTechVideos, DDR2 is Dual Channel, DDR3 is Dual channel by default also unless it says on it and its sold in kits of 6GB. 4GB DDR3 kits are always dual channel.

ive had a couple of 4 gig Kingston 1333mhz DDR3 kits for weeks now which are still in their packaging
now i have a question i need to ask, someone told me the other day they're set to 1066mhz by default and i need to set it to the values specified by Kingston
would it be better to set the voltage and timings in the BIOS or just use software to do it in the OS?
i cant do this until i have the rest of the parts for my rig, but some advice would be really appreciated, peace
undeadshooter 2 years ago
@undeadshooter, Hi, yes set the DDR at 1333Mhz in the BIOS first, then leave everything else at default and test the PC see if it runs fine , and check with the CPU-Z the times , you can then later go back to the BIOs after to tweak further.

Sir,
I was wonderng what is the difference between the kit you examined and this one : KHX1600C8D3K3 which is the 3x2GB Kingston HyperX Triple Channel .
do the kits differ by the latency or something ??

ypaul123 2 years ago
@ypaul123, The triple channel is for the Core i7, this kit I reviewed is the regular for AMD AM3 CPU's for example and is dual channel.
