YAY! closest that I have heard so far and the kit sounded just right. Is he the original guy? No offence to drummers out there but this man stands out in a crowd for me because it seems that he is the real deal, you know? Funky shit! Not just another bloke who can double bass at the speed of lighting and do fuck all else and get called great.
I must have watched this a 100 times in the last couple of months and it is still as good as I've seen anywhere. I would like to see what he could do with a slightly bigger kit and a decent video recorder. Is the rest of the band as talented? Thanks for the post and his name.
No one said Kurt was the original drummer for IB!. I am the guitar player in the video who begged Kurt to play the InAGadda solo, as he was the only one out of the many musicians in this "Summer of Love" celebration who was really there and lived it.. Coronapack: if it dragged a bit it's because the bassist and I l left him hanging for a bit like he said IB had sometimes done to him (joke). He kicks ass on drums & also holds his own on lead/rhythm guitar & standup bass....I hate him....LOL.
Sorry but I have to disagree...this guy is not Ron Bushy the original drummer for Iron Butterfly. Although this guy is quite good he was never the Iron Butterfly drummer..there has only been one and this isn't him. Ron Bushy and Lee Dormann (both original members) are still touring the european circuit as Iron Butterfly.
Kurt Markham, Kurt played in Iron Butterfly with Doug Ingle, Lee Dorman, Mike Pinera and Larry Reinhardt in the winter of 1978/1979 for a short tour of the East Coast. He is eternally grateful to them for teaching him so much about playing music and also for the experience of a lifetime
20-somethin'... he was there a short time after the previous drummer left the band...this is footage from a party at a local park in Long beach, CA...
Absolutely awesome

Too bad we didn't get this guy who the video up, he surely did a better vid job, thans Joe's brother.

i like how he is using the bass drum to keep a beat and not to just show how fast he can hit it.

Sorry, but this gentleman was an actual drummer for the band Iron Butterfly.

Coolest thing about this is that he doesn't really have much of a kit. Far from the power kits that metal guys surround themselves with.
