the number of following ballast carriers should not be the way of measuring. The Terex AC500 is a nice crane, and probably the largest that stays down under. The number of ballast carriers is determined by the maximum axle weight in australia.

thats not the biggest here in aus; they use those pups in shell refinery here in geelong; biggest ive seen was also a flat bed trailer, attached to it was a turbine, and used 3 semis to pull, and two to push.. reason why the cargo was still attached, as it was still cheaper and quicker to move the crane by truck, then to build a whole new crane i guess.

I saw this crane in action many times when i was working on eastlink.

Infact this video is taken at bridge 77 and 78 over dandenong creek.

I was working on this bridge just before snow white lifted the beams in.

i could tell the surroundings when you swung the camera around and showed the horse paddocks with all of the sheds on them.

They sold this crane for $2 million just after it finished lifting the last of 1,639beams

The AC 700 is currently the biggest TELESCOPIC crane of terex (demag)
