  • nice hank III with a misfits shirt on!

  • I want to download this song but I cant. Where can I get this version ?

  • @vonbraff it's on an album called willie nelson and friends stars and guitars

  • brilliant song rock or country, have you heard Frankie Millers version?

  • great

  • LOVE Keith Richards.. I DONT get his outfit here... STTTTTTRANGE

  • Hey....there's a beverage here.....man......

  • @rubbersole79 another Caucasian Gary

  • why would you want dead flowers. i guess it is like a metaphor or something

  • In a sense, it's kinda like passing the torch to the next generation. just my opinion though.

  • Keith; I just cannot resuist replaying .Your hoarse voice to me is the sexiest one alive.

  • This is AWESOME!

  • Should have been a #1. With all due respect to Mr. impala...you are terribly wrong sir! This version is great!!! Deal with it!

  • just looking at this again HANK III holds this song together, who the F**ck is Ryan Adams and what has he done to appear with LEGENDS?? ? Legs

  • @moorie2

Ryan Adam is is pretty fucking talented. You should do some research and listening be for you completely discredit him.

  • @moorie2 you're right I dont know how he got on this stage. I dont care how incredibly talented he is, Hell I'm talented but I would have no business on stage with these 3 GODS! Hank III comes from the Family business but the stuff hes done on his own totally relieves him of anyone trying to say hes living off his name. He's one of the best musicians out there right now.An all around (Country,Punk,Metal,Rock n Roll) Genius and a really nice guy!

  • Is that Glenn Worf on bass from Mark Knopfler"s band?

  • This proves Adams is and will always be nothing but a legend. Talk shit when you've played on letterman with Willy. Talk shit when you've done this^.

  • ommmmiooodddio :D

  • that is how you fuc up and great townes van zandt song iam the biggest hank3 fan ever but this song blows. it just was'nt saposta big a up beat song.

  • @94impala1982

townes did a great rendition of this song... but it was mick and keith who wrote it.

  • richards destroyer...

  • This is the coolest thing that ever happened. No arguments, it is just a fact.

  • There is hope!!

This is fucking bad ass!! Made my day

  • Great Stones song that TVZ took over and made great and then these guys just nail this. In no way is this bad.

  • Great collaboration! Fantastic and memorable, WoooHoo!!!

  • I just searched Hank Williams iii and he looks so different haha, He's all tattooed etc, not what I expected at all. I love this cover x

  • this shit rocks

  • LONG LIVE GOD (aka Keith Richards!)

  • This is great!

  • Doesn't the Pauli exclusion principle state that Kieth & Willie can't be on the same stage together without causing a tear in the fabric of Time-Space?

  • Hank III and Keith Richards should do an album together. No joke.

  • It doesn't freeze on my computer, Stina. Keith takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!

  • Not into this version. Nothing beats Gram Parson doing this song. Also, I am a massive Ryan Adams fan and think it sucks how it freezes every time it hits him. LOL

  • @stina20a

    Gram never did this song

  • @luthierjustin1 Yes he did. Perhaps not officially but I do have him doing this song.

  • @luthierjustin1

    yes he did

  • @luthierjustin1

yes he did. it's archived. he often recorded his songs but they never got published as his performance due to contract issues.

  • @luthierjustin1 Yes he did. Just not officially. I picked the song up somewhere in my travels. Just not sure where.

  • Must be awhile back, Hank 3 has no tattoos.

  • yep thats right its 2001 i think

  • What show is this from??

  • I will never get tired of this - the world needs more genuine music like this - just a straight forward good time!

  • I agree that it's great, but genuine? It's a cover of a Stones tune. I know Keith is in the Stones but if these cats got together and did an original album (think Traveling Wilburys) that would be genuine.... Again, not to take anything away from the terrific spectical here... I'll never get tired of it either. I wish there where more tunes....

  • that would be cool man!!!

  • I love you! Great idea!

  • ill be in my basement room ....

  • With a needle...

  • Are you out of your mind?

    KEITH RICHARDS &

    Ryan Adams

  • Hank III and Willie Nelson on the same stage. Wow. Great vid. Not sure who the other two guys are, though.

  • Ryan Adams kind of looks like an early 70s Keith Richards

  • Why every video of music I step in here in youtube turns into a World War III comment camp?

I mean, fine if you don't like this or whatever, but please, leave all the negativity out of the music, and just enjoy it. If you don't like it, then don't watch it.

  • "Why every video of music I step in here in youtube turns into a World War III comment camp?" You just got it like that. I know the feeling. Let 'em fight it out and we just appreciate what there is....

  • One of the best Stones songs ever!

  • Buon colpo...!

  • Now that's some good music! Love it!

  • This is The Best, it doesnt get better anytime day or night, I would go to see this show! I travel for festivals and I am ready! Lets Party!

  • jesus christ. this is amazing. Keith Richards and Ryan Adams (huge Stones fan and huge Ryan Adams fan..) This is Gold. It should have been recorded on "Gold". Haha.

  • Hank's grandfather is watching over him for sure

  • III's wearing a misfits shit-awesome

  • Anyone notice how eerily he looks like his grandfather?

  • Looks!? How about sounds!? Uncanny.

  • You should hear his misfits covers, they've got balls to spare!

  • Lol. It's called a dual solo. Not very common in country. In fact the Cardinals are the onlys I know who do it!

  • If you listen to Derek & The Dominoes or Allman Brothers Band. There's dual solos all over that.

  • what about the guitar playing don't you get, at no point did anybody "solo over" anybody, it was tasteful guitar playing that's all.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm sure it was supposed to be that way. it was great.

  • amazing tune....5/5

  • I don't know where you got that from. This song was written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, released originally on the Rolling STones album, Beggar's Banquet. It was covered by Townes Van Zandt, but it was written by Jagger and Richards. It was a Rolling Stones classic.

  • It was on Sticky Fingers not Beggar's Banquet

  • Thanks. I thought it was from Beggar's Banquet. But I knew it wasn't written by Townes Van Zandt.

  • You're not meek, however you are rude. I don't normally respond to posts such as yours.

  • Idiot, this is another Jagger/Richards classic, the legend of Townes only covered it.

  • It sure could get any better - if Gram would have been there.

  • two absolute legends, an incredible modern songwriter, and... Hank Williams III

  • willie had that guitar when i saw him in 78 and also 85, why change?

  • killer

  • oh my god! this is so fucking cool.

best version i've heard since townes van zandt's. ryan looks stoned out of his mind haha.

  • what r they all playing ? from what i can work out keiths doing lead hank williams is strumming the chords an ryan andams is kinda strumming them aswell as doing sum lead am i right ? but what is willie playing ?

can sum1 help as i wanna do a cover of this thanx

  • then again no one never really knows what willie is up to. needs a new guitar, though:)

  • This video is awesome. When u just hear the audio, it's not the best version, but when u see the performance, mercy day! There is nothing sexier than Keith in this vid! And III too (3-2-haha), and willie is a pretty close 2nd. (or IIIrd, damned I can't count) --Jan

  • Too damn cool. Thanks so much.

  • This is awesome, thanks for posting this. You've struck a gold mine.

  • Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about! I still think that Townes Van Zandt has the best version of this song, though.

  • III army

  • Check out Frankie Miller's (the Scot who recorded from about '72-'92) version of this song.

  • Yeeaah - Keith , Willie and Ryan, It can't get much better

  • yah it could -- Shooter

  • Pfft, Shooter Jennings? WTF? He's ok, but he'd have nothing to offer that wasn't already more than covered. Here, we have rock n' roll legend, a country music legend, a talented pop/rock artist of today, and the grandson of the late, great Hank Williams representing today's generation of country music! Sorry, but apparently, pop-country rockers weren't called to this jam session.

  • shooter's not pop

  • No, he's pop-country....Look,I didn't mean to seem harsh. It's just that when mserika73 mentioned all the artists here except for Hank3 when stating "it can't get much better," you followed up with "yah it could -- Shooter." A lot of people tend to compare Hank3 and Shooter, but there's no comparison if you ask me. If you weren't doggin' Hank3, my bad. If you were, you have a right to your opinion. I'm just not a big Shooter fan.

  • no way - Hank 3's a bit crazy, but he's great! I wish they got along and toured together... I think they should milk the country connections for all it's worth :-)

  • And that would be a sell out. BTW shooter is pop country. Example: "4th of July". If that song isn't pop country I'll burn my Hank 3 Shirts

  • Hey dumbass, you are frickin' crazy if you think Shooter Jennings, one of todays new outlaws and a keeper of the country music faith, is pop country. You Haven't paid attention to any of his music, let alone listened to it. Don't you ever get on here again and say that.

  • Just because Shooter is Waylon's kid doesn't make him any less pop. Hes like Toby Keith with a namesake to give him credibility. Fuck him.

  • Hey retard. If you even remotely compare the uncommercialized artistic greatness of Shooter Jennings to that crass sellout Toby Keith and think they are alike, then you are a dumbass.

  • Oh yeah. Nothing alike. It isn't like they toured together or anything like that. It isn't like Shooter has been in a handful of CMT programs cashing in on the blood and sweat of his father and other great musicians. And I'm sure he has far too much artistic integrity to play a part in an abortion of a film bastardizing the life and times of a legend like Johnny Cash. Shooter is too much of an artist who takes pride in what he does to do anything like that...oops.

  • Umm, he took that role to honor his dad, just like John Carter Cash made that movie to honor his dad, even though Johnny Cash had a hand in production of that film before he died. But I guess you're too much of a moron to have known that. Oops.

  • John Carter Cash was an executive producer. Do you have any clue what that title means? Didn't think so. But I'll clue you in, it doesn't mean he "made that movie". More of a title they stick on a person who wants their name to be a part of a movie.

As far as Shooter "taking that role to honor his dad". What a crock of shit. He did it to get his lame ass name and music out there.

But as long as you're dropping all of this mad knowledge. What do Shooter's nuts taste like?

  • I was gonna ask you the same about Hank 3's

  • Why? I haven't said a thing about III. Hes a decent musician. But there are a lot better out there. And despite how many times you beg ol' Shooter for a reach around he is definitely NOT one of those better musicians.

But hey. Feel free to listen to all the pop country you want. Just don't get your vagina cranked all full of sand every time people with good taste don't agree with you.

  • Umm, you have no taste in music at all, so don't even start. If your too big a dumbass to realize your wrong, then piss off. I bet you secretly hide in your bedroom listening to Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts records and are just a closeted hypocrite.

  • Yep. I'm probably not all excited over the impending release of the new Those Poor Bastards record. I probably haven't traveled the country and seen new guys playing the good old shit everywhere from Santa Fe Brewing Co in NM to The Rodeo Bar in NYC. I probably don't have a painfully extensive library on everything from early folk and old time to the better country rock of Gram Parsons and this little album Dead Flowers is on. Go get raped.

  • I'll light the match for ya, deaf ear.

  • Ryan Adams is Alt-Country, not pop rock. You idiots have no idea who some of the artists really are and try and act cool and think you do.

  • Who's the idiot, Erk? People can say whatever they want on here! That's why your comments are still posted despite the inappropriate name-calling.

  • Dixie, you are one of the most astoundingly even-tempered commenters I've ever encountered on YouTube and other forums. It's nice to see some folks can still carry on a conversation of sorts with out getting out of sorts.

  • Dude, you have no taste in music. Ryan Adams is Alt Country and so is Shooter. They both reject pop ideologies. Sorry, but you are wrong.

  • Whoever talked shit about Ryan Adams is a bitch.

  • Time for another beer...

  • one of the best blues guitarists ever (keith), two of the best songwriters ever (ryan adams and willie) and the son and grandson of the two greatest country artists ever. shit would i love being there.

  • When icons like Willie and Richards share the stage with Hank III it validates his talent and respect by true country artists. Why are the shits in Nashville in such denial? Screw them Cash made it without them.

  • this is so inspirational

  • One of the greatest Rolling Stones songs ever !!!

One of the coolest lovesongs ever !!! Willie and Keith!!! Oh Yeah...give em great big kiss !

  • this is the shit!!!hank 3 rules and fuck kid rock and his daddy!!

  • this is my favorite love song!!

  • It doesn't get any better than this...........fuckin'- A

  • townes van zandt did a great version of this. this version is possibly the best.

  • This is one of the best Rolling Stones songs. It's on side two of the album, "Sticky Fingers" from 1971.

    A great version.

  • this is a rolling stones song

  • My dad told me about the Rolling Stones. Why is Keith Richards playing a Ryan Adams song with these guys.

  • I'm very familiar with the work of the other three gentlmen...but who the fuck is this Keith Richards guy????

  • Oh, you gotta be f*cking with us, right? Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones!

  • Yes, I am Fucking with you

  • can someone please tell me what this song is about

  • It's is about a guy singing to a woman. The guy is hanging out with low life people and using "a needle and a spoon" (=taking heroin). The woman is hanging out with high society people "making bets on Kentycky Derby day" and driving in "a long pink Cadillac" and "sitting back in a silk polstered chair".

Dead flowers is a symbol for the woman not loving the guy anymore. The guy don't care. She can go right ahead and send him dead flowers, and he "won't forget to put roses on her grave".

  • it's a break up song - Ha, I got dead flowers once , the fucked up part was i was 7 seriously and i was happy about it until I found out it was a joke from my older sister...anyway I love this song.

  • can someone please tell me what this song is about

  • Wow! When and where was this and how do we download it , Hank III , off to a good start. All did a great job. Good Going posting this classic!

  • When 2 greats, Richards & Nelson, include 2 younger musicians they have got to have some talent. I have yet to see anyone bomb playing alongside Willie Nelson and/or Keith Richards. I loved it!

  • I thought it was great, I'm unsure who Ryan Adams is but didn't notice anyone letting the side down.

  • Ryan Adams is one of the greatest artists of the modern day.

  • Ryan Adams is one of the greatest artist of the modern day. He sings Alt. country. The best kind of music!

  • hey back off... ryan adams is the shit, hes got some balls swappin licks with keith too... they all are great

  • ~III~

  • Great video, but I agree with others that Ryan Adams shoud be burned at the stake with no roses on his grave. What part of music is he supposed to be representing...sloth and ignorance??? The others are great though.

  • Keef still hasn't mastered the art of removing his undercrackers over his head. Apart from that - and the fact that Willie Nelson looks like Deputy Dawg's dad - a hip-clickin' finger-twitcher.

  • Superb, thank you for posting. Those licks by Keith at the end, you can just see him totally getting off on it. Timeless.

  • KEEEEEEEIIIIITTTTTHHHHHHH!!!! Man he's actually harmonizing during the chorus! Great guitar work as well. They look like they're having a good time.

  • AWESOME LINE-UP!!!

  • its from a special called "willie nelson & friends: stars and guitars" theres a c.d. release for it as well

  • What is this from?
