@moorie2 you're right I dont know how he got on this stage. I dont care how incredibly talented he is, Hell I'm talented but I would have no business on stage with these 3 GODS! Hank III comes from the Family business but the stuff hes done on his own totally relieves him of anyone trying to say hes living off his name. He's one of the best musicians out there right now.An all around (Country,Punk,Metal,Rock n Roll) Genius and a really nice guy!

Not into this version. Nothing beats Gram Parson doing this song. Also, I am a massive Ryan Adams fan and think it sucks how it freezes every time it hits him. LOL
I agree that it's great, but genuine? It's a cover of a Stones tune. Again, not to take anything away from the terrific spectical here... I'll never get tired of it either. I wish there where more tunes....

Pfft, Shooter Jennings? WTF? He's ok, but he'd have nothing to offer that wasn't already more than covered. Here, we have rock n' roll legend, a country music legend, a talented pop/rock artist of today, and the grandson of the late, great Hank Williams representing today's generation of country music! Sorry, but apparently, pop-country rockers weren't called to this jam session.
No, he's pop-country....Look,I didn't mean to seem harsh. It's just that when mserika73 mentioned all the artists here except for Hank3 when stating "it can't get much better," you followed up with "yah it could -- Shooter." A lot of people tend to compare Hank3 and Shooter, but there's no comparison if you ask me. If you weren't doggin' Hank3, my bad. If you were, you have a right to your opinion. I'm just not a big Shooter fan.
no way - Hank 3's a bit crazy, but he's great! I wish they got along and toured together... I think they should milk the country connections for all it's worth :-)
Hey dumbass, you are frickin' crazy if you think Shooter Jennings, one of todays new outlaws and a keeper of the country music faith, is pop country. You Haven't paid attention to any of his music, let alone listened to it. Don't you ever get on here again and say that.
Hey retard. If you even remotely compare the uncommercialized artistic greatness of Shooter Jennings to that crass sellout Toby Keith and think they are alike, then you are a dumbass.
Oh yeah. Nothing alike. It isn't like they toured together or anything like that. It isn't like Shooter has been in a handful of CMT programs cashing in on the blood and sweat of his father and other great musicians. And I'm sure he has far too much artistic integrity to play a part in an abortion of a film bastardizing the life and times of a legend like Johnny Cash. Shooter is too much of an artist who takes pride in what he does to do anything like that...oops.
Umm, he took that role to honor his dad, just like John Carter Cash made that movie to honor his dad, even though Johnny Cash had a hand in production of that film before he died. But I guess you're too much of a moron to have known that. Oops.
John Carter Cash was an executive producer. Do you have any clue what that title means? Didn't think so. But I'll clue you in, it doesn't mean he "made that movie". More of a title they stick on a person who wants their name to be a part of a movie.
As far as Shooter "taking that role to honor his dad". What a crock of shit. He did it to get his lame ass name and music out there.
But as long as you're dropping all of this mad knowledge. What do Shooter's nuts taste like?
Why? I haven't said a thing about III. Hes a decent musician. But there are a lot better out there. And despite how many times you beg ol' Shooter for a reach around he is definitely NOT one of those better musicians.
But hey. Feel free to listen to all the pop country you want. Just don't get your vagina cranked all full of sand every time people with good taste don't agree with you.
Umm, you have no taste in music at all, so don't even start. If your too big a dumbass to realize your wrong, then piss off. I bet you secretly hide in your bedroom listening to Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts records and are just a closeted hypocrite.
Yep. I'm probably not all excited over the impending release of the new Those Poor Bastards record. I probably haven't traveled the country and seen new guys playing the good old shit everywhere from Santa Fe Brewing Co in NM to The Rodeo Bar in NYC. I probably don't have a painfully extensive library on everything from early folk and old time to the better country rock of Gram Parsons and this little album Dead Flowers is on. Go get raped.
Dixie, you are one of the most astoundingly even-tempered commenters I've ever encountered on YouTube and other forums. It's nice to see some folks can still carry on a conversation of sorts with out getting out of sorts.
one of the best blues guitarists ever (keith), two of the best songwriters ever (ryan adams and willie) and the son and grandson of the two greatest country artists ever. shit would i love being there.
When icons like Willie and Richards share the stage with Hank III it validates his talent and respect by true country artists. Why are the shits in Nashville in such denial? Screw them Cash made it without them.
It's is about a guy singing to a woman. The guy is hanging out with low life people and using "a needle and a spoon" (=taking heroin). The woman is hanging out with high society people "making bets on Kentycky Derby day" and driving in "a long pink Cadillac" and "sitting back in a silk polstered chair".
Dead flowers is a symbol for the woman not loving the guy anymore. The guy don't care. She can go right ahead and send him dead flowers, and he "won't forget to put roses on her grave".
it's a break up song - Ha, I got dead flowers once , the fucked up part was i was 7 seriously and i was happy about it until I found out it was a joke from my older sister...anyway I love this song.
