  • @ValouR86 No, your PC has to 'switch user' for this to work...

  • if anybody can help me out i cant get this program working. i have an htc touch pro2 with windows mobile 6.5 and a windows 7 computer. iam think the problem might be the router. i have a dlink router. PLEASE HELP ME ive beenw anting to use this program since ever!!!

  • ok, I NEED HELP. When you're at 0:24 in the remote tab, mine doesn't have that second "remote Desktop" option. it just has the top one..the "remote assistence" WHY??

  • @CameronAC96 that depends on your PC's operating system, it's not supported on all operating systems.

  • @CameronAC96 Windows 7 Home Premium & lower do not have this option, but u can do Windows Anytime Upgrade to switch to Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate

  • you know the only thing that sucks is that it no one has been able to explain how to get it to work over normal cellphone data plan. Some people say they've got it to work some say it can't be done...

  • @Yoursoul101 To be honest, I'm not quite sure if this is possible, I'll look into it...

  • @highdiversBlog It's completely possible, you just need to have your router send through from internet to your private machine on the right port (I think its still 3389) you can actually route from a different external port so it's not too obvious. Win 7 has a bunch of security stuff in the way plus firewall software/hw will need to allow it. You probably should get a dynamic dns account of some sort as well.

  • @XzeviouS Thank you for the info :)

  • I cannot seem to get this working at all.

I even port forwarded the remote port to my PC. It still will not connect, gives me a connection error.

  • @irishllama try with some other network, just to locate the problem...

  • I have two questions, first, mine gets that error that says, "user name does not exist or a network error occured". any ideas, i have tried port forwarding but still nothing

and second, what program did you use to record your hd2 screen?

  • @knucklessg1 1. Double check your login information

    2. I was using River Past mobile recorder

  • i noticed you had nimbuzz on your phone. How d I get it? i cant find it in the market place.

  • @flipsideatchc Go to official site, directly from your phone, and download it.

  • @flipsideatchc i cant figure it out. I went to it and started an account and its asking me to download flash player but the phone wont load it.

  • Thanks for your sharing. Follow with it step by step, its works! but currently, when i connect the remote desktop, my pc screen will log off when the screen appears on my htc hd2. can i keep both appears so that i can use my htc as a remote controller? Another question, i try to play mp3 files on windows media player via remote desktop, but it wrote "a audio device was disconnected or reconfigured. verify that the audio device is connected, and then try to play the item again." what should i do?

  • @ylingchong Your PC has to log off, that's how remote desktop connection works. So, the answer to the first question is no. There are some other programs that will allow you to control your mouse via HD2.

I'm not familiar with the second problem, you can try some other audio player.

  • many thanks for the reply, unfortunately it is still disconecting as it did before. when i use the HD2 to remotely play tunes on WMP on the pc it drops a connection, seems its because there's no activity on the HD2 once i've left the pc playing tunes.. annoying as it would be cool to use the HD2 as a remote for the WMP!!

  • try this:

    1. To turn off the autodisconnect feature, open a command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER:

    net config server /autodisconnect:-1

    OR

    2. To change the default time-out period for the autodisconnect feature of the Server service, open a command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER

    net config server /autodisconnect:number

where number is the number of minutes that you want the server to wait before it disconnects a mapped network drive.

  • I want to use my HD2 to remote desktop my xp based pc, it keeps going to the log on screen when i dont use the HD2 for a few minutes really annoying when your trying to use the media player on xp machine.

any idea's how to fix this, a friend mentioned something about the conection becoming idle and changing registry in xp to fix it????

  • Thanks can you please make a tutorial on how to setup VNC.

  • @MiguelS1994 I'll see what I can do.

  • please help me!? what password i should use ???

  • @lkc222 you should use the password that you use to log in to your PC. If you don't have one, create it on your PC :)

  • U can't use the Remot Desktop in Landscape mode isn't it?

  • @ulqin2008 unfortunately, that is correct...

  • @highdiversBlog I hate to use it vertical..

  • @ulqin2008 I know, some firmware update will fix this (hopefully)...

  • So does this only work when connected to your wifi? I'm trying to find a way to access my computer from my phone while I'm on the road

  • @myjobsucksass technically, it should work when you're on the road, if you use VPN... otherwise, only through you WiFi connection...

  • When I set up my remote desktop, the following errors shows up on my phone

    1. Specified computer name or ip does not exist

    2. A network error occurred while establishing the connection

Got any advise that can help me.

  • @09chicano1 double check your PC's IP address, make sure it's IPv4...

  • I am using windows vista home premium, and i dont have the setting that allows me to allows computer for remote( 0:28 on video). i am using a htc hd2. how can I do to remotely connect to my pc. thanks

  • @torvektheo from official Microsoft site: You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, or Windows Vista Home Premium.

so, you'll need to upgrade your operating system...

  • cool so i learn all day,s with my HTC HD2

  • Can You Use Remote Desktop if you do not have a WIFI router at home to work with? How can I setup Windows XP and my Touch Pro 2 without a WIFI account or home network?

  • @Phar2Rekliss I don't think you can.

  • DOes your computer have to have a Passowrd?!?!?

  • @knucklessg1 I think so...

  • how can i know my ip address and password for window xp? i don have a password set for my desktop. help!

  • @ValouR86 As I recall, it goes like this: right click on the network connection icon in systray (next to the clock), and then click Details (or something similar). Your IP should be shown, among other things. I think that you need to have a password in order to work with remote desktop connection.

  • @highdiversBlog hi thanks for the reply. now i have this problem . it stat as connect but after 2 sec it became disconnected. i had also opened port for my 2wire .

  • @ValouR86 maybe you're losing WiFi reception on your phone?

  • @highdiversBlog nop. my wifi connection is always on as i tried to connection to skyfire etc, working fine.

  • how do i get thet ip if i have a vista?plz tell me

  • @punisher70000000 go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center, and then click "View Status" for your network, and then "Details", and you can see your PC's IP in the IPv4 IP address.

  • @highdiversBlog thx for a very fast reply but it still dosent work it says its computer name or ip address does not exist or a network error occured every time that i try i will get it tho by this month ;)

  • damnit windows 7 basic home premium cant be use for this

  • @walkerlegend yes, only Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate support remote desktop connections.

  • nevermind, iee figured it out. I wasn't connected to my wifi

  • I'm not sure I understand your question?

You need to have WiFi router in order to have wireless connection to your PC...

  • how do you have the wifi router? my hd2 doesn't have that. i needd it :[

  • ur connected via usb? the point of the remote is that its wireless

  • I'm connected via usb because I need to record my phone's screen on my PC.

  • okay, it didnt work for me.. maybe u can tell me what ive missed.

    1. allow remote devices connecting to my pc.

    2. restart pc

    3. turn on wifi on phone.

    4. type in my router ip adress on phone

    5. type in the name of my computer on phone

    6. type in the password to our wireless wifi on phone

    "network connection problem"

    anything ive missed?

  • you're making a mistake in step 4: you need to fill in the IP address of your PC, not your router!

  • i got 2 ip adresses, my router adress to my pc. and my internet ip, which i can find if i search myip on google.

u suggest i should use my internet ip?

  • no, you need to use your PC's internal IP address, no external, or internet, as you call it.

If you're using Windows 7, you can find your PC's internal IP address in network and sharing center->change adapter settings->click on your connection->Details-> IPv4 address

  • I'm having the same issue but i have windows xp & i found y IP address by going into My computer but i'm not certain about the password. Where can i find that?

  • @highdiversBlog How do u do that capture the screen I have a vista computer

  • @smashedcat08 I used Riverpast Windows Mobile Recorder...

  • You sound like the guy from the End of the World flash...

Zatim System, pa Remote jezicak, i tu oznacis "Allow users to remotely connect to this computer." To bi trebalo da ti pomogne...

  • forgot to mention multi-touch, which allows you to zoom in/out, and then the size of icons stops being the problem.
