Well you have to understand that he recorded all these songs when he was 16 or 17. His voice has changed since then partly because of growing up and also because he smokes. It still does sound like him though...

I'm pretty sure he was 18, because he recorded all of his old songs on the piano that Ellen gave him after he appeared on her show. So all the back vocals in his other songs, are him that he recorded himself, and then mixed together to produce the final product. he has improved substantially as a singer since we first heard him on idol, and his piano is just as crisp as before.

I read an article about how American Idol (or rather the record company behind the music) threatened to sue Josiah Leming because everyone had to sign a contract. I think it's sad because he wanted to get it out to share with his ill mother

Wow, that piano playing is so mature and solid. Josiah has a real flair for melody and impacting songwriting. His fervent, aching pleas are simply mesmerizing.
