as an American tax payer i feel all 14 politician,s who ran away to avoid doing what they are getting paid to do and all teachers who are faking sickness as an excuse not to do there jobs should all be fired.
Democrats are angry that union ppl won't have jobs or get over-compensated anymore...so they stop going to work as the teachers stop teaching? Liberals...they are lazy little crybabies.
This isn't about increasing the amount of money going to pensions or healthcare. This isn't even about the budget. It's about Republicans trying to get unions out of their way, because union workers know how to organize the people, and almost always vote for Democrats. That's it. Unions and union workers are collateral damage in the greater political struggle - and that's just not right.
@365ral It seems you don't understand the strategy that is being implemented with the Democrats leaving the state. Considering that the strategy has worked it has the exact opposite effect in that they are very smart people. Why is it that when the Republicans play games like this you cheer them on, but if the Democrats beat you at your own game you cry foul?
@DocRocz The Republicans are passive in just about all of Obama's ideas, but they at least show up for work. Sad truth is SOMETHING's gonna have to be cut. WI is billions of dollars in debt. WI is limited to options like raising taxes or having the people decide what happens to the unions. Dems don't like those kinds of choices, but they know that's what the people and Republican majorities will try to go for. It's like they're saying "I'm not gonna show up until you gimmie what I want!"
@365ral What you fail to see is that the representatives have shown up for work. They are using the WI state laws to block the vote, in Washington the Republicans used the filibuster, in WI the state law says that there have to be 20 members present for a vote to take place.
So although you may not agree with their strategy they are doing what the people want, as can be noted by the number of protesters.
@DocRocz That's the point. Republicans HAVE been showing up at the offices; the Democrats have fled to other states, and said they could be gone for days or weeks. They're no more honest than the teachers who lied about calling in sick so they could protest! The Republicans want a vote on the bill, but if the Dems don't show up, they look like cowards, hiding to avoid losing their political power.
@365ral You miss the point the failure on their part is a political strategy which keeps the vote that they will loose from happening. If they aren't there the vote can't take place. No vote no bill passage.
Lets face it if this was strictly about the money for the additional amount of money they are asking the teachers to pay it would be a done deal, the real issue here is that the Governor is trying to break the union and I feel he may have gotten more than he bargained for.
@DocRocz The governor never said he was against unions or teachers. He's trying to find ways to cut spending to get WI out of its already huge debt. Raising taxes is very unpopular, but since unions end up costing a lot of money as well, it would save money if union dues were more affordable. The Dems have taken another chance to make Reps look like they hate the middle class so they can try to get back into power.
@365ral The governor doesn't have to say anything, it's the old adage action speaks louder than words. If you look at the action to take away the works bargaining power that has nothing to do with the budget. What it does do is open up the door to have WI wind up as a right to work state like Arizona. Which happens to have some of the lowest wages in the whole US.
The Dems don't have to try to make the Reps look like they are taking advantage of the middle class they do fine on their own.
@DocRocz You need facts that the governor is against unions. You can't just look at his actions and assume his idea behind because it just "looks" like it is. That's no more legitimate than saying you're anti-Hispanic if you're against illegal immigration, or you hate black people if you didn't vote for Obama. Plus, if WI DOES have some of the lowest wages in US, that's all the more reason to cut spending! We the People are broke!
@365ral Here's your fact, part of the bill the Governor is pushing for is to remove the bargaining power of the workers(the union) which is what the whole debate is about.
As I stated before if that portion of the bill is removed there wouldn't be any debate.
What you didn't understand was that Arizona has some of the lowest wages NOT WI.
Arizona has a higher cost of living and lower wages than WI.
@DocRocz But again, that alone doesn't confirm the accusation that the governor is against unions as a whole. Has this guy had a history of demeaning unions? Is he a part of anti-union groups or cults? Has he blatantly said anything that showed he hated unions? We need more evidence, not just assume it's so because it "looks" like it.
@365ral I feel you digress as the discussion isn't about how the Governor feels about unions. The issue is that there are measures in the bill that have put these people on the defensive as to their bargaining power.
If you took the time to watch the video I suggested you would have heard one of the protesters own words that they don't have an issue with paying more for their benefits, which is what I have stated.
The Governor has yet to explain how limited bargaining power would help the state
@365ral Here's a youtube video where one of the protesters speaks about the very thing you don't seem to understand about the part of the bill that is trying to break the union. That part that lets you know that the governor is against the unions. They are interviewing one of the protesters at 00:50.
The governor hasn't done anything to make it clear why reducing the workers bargaining power would help the budget.
Just search youtube for: Wisconsin unions rally for rights

@AnotherWob NEWSFLASH Wisconsin teachers are a bunch of overpaid lazy union scum with a horrible record of educating our children . They need all be fired so they can suck on Trumka's dick full time and leave our children alone
News flash, they need to pay more. Fuck the UNIONS and Fuck all those greedy public employees that are out striking with fake sick notes. Lay them all off, plenty of people looking for jobs that would be happy to get work.
If this goes through, we are going to see a shit-storm like we haven't seen here since '68. And I will be right on the front line. On Wisconsin. Got my gas mask ready...
FUCK THE UNIONS ! ! ! I'M WORKING MY ASS-OFF IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR GETTING LESS INCOME & BENEFIT THAN THOSE DEEP-SHITS GOVERNMENT WORKERS WHO ONLY DO THE JOB FOR JUST 9 MONTHS A YEAR, WHY DO I HAVE TO SACRIFICE MY MONEY TO PAY FOR THEIR PREMIUM BENEFITS ! ! !
bust the public employee unions ! you steal my money for your greedy pensions and perks and i am lucky to have 30,000 ! i refuse to pay taxes until all public emplyee unions in my state and the federal gov are BUSTED !
I only support 3 of the teachers in my school (that i know), there was a scheduled walkout that i missed. The school threatened with an amazing unexcused absence for people who left, any sports players will not be able to do sports anymore, so the sports players sat in a big circle in the hall and refused to go to class, eventually leaving due to the school's threats.
I don't even really know what this bill is for, all i know is people are going to get less money if it gets passed.
@hifatpeople you can't pay people with money you don't have. You shouldn't pay people in the public sector one their results are so terrible. (this is why private schools are in such high demand now more than ever) The public sector, which is paid by Taxpayers mind you, is up to voters to decide where they want their hard earned money to be allocated, removing bidding power from unions allows law makers and tax payers to quickly impliment their ideals without stupid strikes.
Teachers work part-time hours for only part of the year yet are paid for the entire year are protesting that they should not be expected to give up anything. Teachers and their unions have taken everything they could for decades and could not possibly care less what happens to the kids in these schools or the taxpayers. Teachers are worried about themselves, only themselves and nothing else. As usual.
gov employees: Get a real job. Everybody know that gov emp are the worse and lazy people. UNPRODUCTIVE. Everywhere you go thas is handled by gov is a mess. worse service. They great money at other expenses.
@gtilapias Are we supposed to be able to comprehend this. This is perhaps the best example of an incoherent mess that I have ever seen. I know if I was the governor of Wisconsin, the first thing I would do is make it a law that all republicans take an English class.
Wish I could afford to fly to Wisconsin to support the people and march with them!! Of course it is always the teachers, firemen, policemen, who are expected to get the boot while the top 2% of billionaires and millionaires get a free ride. Way to go Wisconsin senators for standing up for the people of your state.
@redline1189 Yeah right.....just because you say it does not make it true. This from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
◦By Kathleen Hickey
◦Nov 01, 2010 A new government study shows that federal workers make an average of 24 percent less than their counterparts in the private sector, with some areas of the country showing much larger gaps, reports the Washington Post. The gap is an average of 2.1 percent wider than it was last year, according to the Post's Federal Eye column.
@TheMslaura811 if that was true, do nothing receive nothing. quit the opposite government employees think they work, when they don't know what work is.CIVIL SERVANTS
@redline1189 And you expect me to have a serious conversation with someone who says things like: "quit the opposite government employees think they work,". Is that actually supposed to make sense???? I think that what you are maybe trying to say is that all government workers do nothing on their job and have no idea what real work is. If that is indeed the point you are trying to make, then you have just proven yourself to be a bigger idiot than your unintelligible rambling would suggest.
These people should be executed as traitors. Our laws are very clear, treason is punished by death. God is a republican and He hates scum!! When Sarah Palin is elected President all democraps will be executed! Our Country is 51% too large. We can sell their property to pay off the debt. GOD BLESS REPUBLICANS- ONLY!!!
Time for the union leeches to start paying their fair share. I am tired of paying for my health care/retirement AND theirs as well. No more free ride, welcome to the real world my lazy union friends.
@MartinLuthertheKing your world would be a hell of a lot worse if it unions were not allowed to organize. Wait and see what happens to America when Unions are busted. How ignorant people are surprises me.
I saw someone post a few lines of the Wisconsin Constitution and it seems the CBA could be squashed if it is voted on as a single issue.... with no Democrats present.
They can take away the teachers right to bargain, but all they have to do is get sick at the same time so the schools close and not get well til concessions are made.
@MaryWaterton yea lets get them unions out then all corporations can cut pay, cut overtime, and cut all medical plans large corporations need help to make more money their ceo's need to buy bigger houses and more cars
@MrJeepin420style - Corporations don't have to cut pay and benefits here ... they can move the jobs to China or India or Mexico and the Federal Government will help them do it! That's the world I have to live in. What makes you government union goons so special??? You want job security, high pay, and a lavish retirement plan subsidized by the taxpayers. Go jump in the lake.
@MaryWaterton i dont work for the govrnment any more. i got out of the military about fifteen yrs ago. my problem with your statement is after all public unions are gone then all other unions are gone. union jobs push everyones pay up no just union members. remember why should a company hire you when theres a great "undocumented worker" that will do the job for even less. i got out of that lake a long time ago and started to pay attention you should too
@micdagreat1 you mean with our future generation's great test scores and graduation rates flying through the roof? Oh yeah, they definitely deserve more money. Oh wait... sorry I misspoke. Plz replace "Great" with "Poor" and "flying" to "falling" and "roof" to "floor".
@theaznfishy Thats cute and all but you know and I know that the educators are the source of the problem. There has been a paradigm shift of focus away from emphasis on education and social reform. If we invested more resources into education and provided better incentives, the best and the brightest would be attracted to that field.I just think that u do a disservice when you demonize ANY public servant(teachers, firemen, police officers, municipal workers)who forgo higher pay in the private sector

If I were the gov of wisc I would put to really work all gov empl. BIG BENEFITS for non productive employees?
gtilapias 1 year ago
gov employees: Get a real job. Everybody know that gov emp are the worse and lazy people. UNPRODUCTIVE. Everywhere you go thas is handled by gov is a mess. worse service. They great money at other expenses.
gtilapias 1 year ago
@gtilapias Are we supposed to be able to comprehend this. This is perhaps the best example of an incoherent mess that I have ever seen. I know if I was the governor of Wisconsin, the first thing I would do is make it a law that all republicans take an English class.

fire 50% teachers firemen cops, probably would not even notice they were gone. have title but not a job=state employee!!!!!

TheMslaura811 1 year ago 2
@TheMslaura811 the people are all broke state workers making a fucking killing, but millionaires fault. wake the fuck up
redline1189 1 year ago
@redline1189 Yeah right.....just because you say it does not make it true. This from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
◦By Kathleen Hickey
◦Nov 01, 2010 A new government study shows that federal workers make an average of 24 percent less than their counterparts in the private sector, with some areas of the country showing much larger gaps, reports the Washington Post. The gap is an average of 2.1 percent wider than it was last year, according to the Post's Federal Eye column.
TheMslaura811 1 year ago
@TheMslaura811 if that was true, do nothing receive nothing. quit the opposite government employees think they work, when they don't know what work is.CIVIL SERVANTS
redline1189 1 year ago

Blood sucking unions. If I lived there I would counter protest.
We have the same problem with the state government unions here in California. They don't care about anyone but themselves.
MaryWaterton 1 year ago
@MaryWaterton yea lets get them unions out then all corporations can cut pay, cut overtime, and cut all medical plans large corporations need help to make more money their ceo's need to buy bigger houses and more cars
MrJeepin420style 1 year ago
@MrJeepin420style - Corporations don't have to cut pay and benefits here ... they can move the jobs to China or India or Mexico and the Federal Government will help them do it! That's the world I have to live in. What makes you government union goons so special??? You want job security, high pay, and a lavish retirement plan subsidized by the taxpayers. Go jump in the lake.
MaryWaterton 1 year ago
@MaryWaterton i dont work for the govrnment any more. i got out of the military about fifteen yrs ago. my problem with your statement is after all public unions are gone then all other unions are gone. union jobs push everyones pay up no just union members. remember why should a company hire you when theres a great "undocumented worker" that will do the job for even less. i got out of that lake a long time ago and started to pay attention you should too
MrJeepin420style 1 year ago
@MaryWaterton why shouldnt they?Teachers deserve more money, they're underpaid..
micdagreat1 1 year ago
@micdagreat1 you mean with our future generation's great test scores and graduation rates flying through the roof? Oh yeah, they definitely deserve more money. Oh wait... sorry I misspoke. Plz replace "Great" with "Poor" and "flying" to "falling" and "roof" to "floor".
theaznfishy 1 year ago
@theaznfishy Thats cute and all but you know and I know that the educators are the source of the problem. There has been a paradigm shift of focus away from emphasis on education and social reform. If we invested more resources into education and provided better incentives, the best and the brightest would be attracted to that field.I just think that u do a disservice when you demonize ANY public servant(teachers, firemen, police officers, municipal workers)who forgo higher pay in the private sector

COWARDS.
That's fine.
Let the people of Wisconsin see just who these jokers are.
We the people are sick and tired of paying for those with FAT CAT benefits while the very people who pay the TAXES have LOST their jobs and can't PAY!
Are the workers in the UNIONS the only ones considered WORKERS?????
What about those in the PRIVATE sector?
THEY are not the WORKING PEOPLE????
PLEASE
