Really when it come down to it, the 2jz's, SR20DETT, and Rotary engines are really the best around for track/drifting. American/Italian cars are pretty shit at it, European is decent at track, but Japanese is better. I've seen worse rims, not too bad, but what wing are you referring to? Sounds like bad timing, though. If it's valve overlap, you shouldn't be running that on the street. it'll ruin the motor and only effective at high RPMs.

It would be called porting on a rotary and street ports are not uncommon on modded cars. Overlap is the time both ports are open. The new stock RX-8's have no overlap all other mazda rotaries have some. Google the visuals help a lot when understanding these motors
