Good stuff. I need to take another look at these. I have yet to find one that I enjoyed playing, but I've always just loved the non-reverse firebirds. I will need to own one at some point. That is a beautiful green Firebird, and I'm really happy that you can actually play, so many of these review videos have people strumming on an electric guitar as if it was a D-Size acoustic, a total waste of time when trying to show what a guitar can do.
One of the coolest Firebird videos I've seen - I really like the effort you put into explaining the history of the model, and the things to look for in a vintage guitar.
Check out my channel to see my modified Encore model - probably the absolute opposite of this guitar! :)
love your collection! we like a lot of the same models (is that a roger Mc Ric on the wall?). would love to play them. i have the custom shop reissue which is nice, the new p-90's are a lot nicer than the new mini h's. of course it can't beat the sixties (most of the time).
You indicate in your video that you installed a repro bridge, where did you get the reproduction bridge... any suggestions on where can i get parts to restore my late 60's non-reverse Firebird?
I find it funny how the original firebird looks like this, but all the modern ones are the supposed reverse shape. I always thought it was the other way around
This non reverse is possibly the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen, I love, love, love the green finish and the vibrola. And it sounds awesome. Too bad its so rare and surely way out of my budget, sigh...
mornin n hi. great informative video. good job. ive owned a 65 firebird 5 since 1965. will never part with it.had to replace the tuners and the pickup switch over the years. great guit tho. also surf steve moore firebird site, you probably already do but if its a new site to you its worth the reading.also mine is in the registry section of his site. g sheridan richmond michigan. thanks for your time and video.
@MrVintagemusic I know if heaven forbid my house were on fire I would be grabbing that SG and that Firebird very tasteful collection from what I see, where did you find that SG if you don't mind my asking?
@waynealarsen snap, i've got a firebird 3 practically identical to this one earlier SN (302...) with gibson deluxe tuners instead being about the only real difference. i'd been led to believe it was faded pelham blue, but it looks much closer to this colour.
I've been in love with this guitar for months, ever since I saw your gbase post. Still hoping I can afford to make an offer someday. Do you have an asking price?
hey dave I need your advice. If you had a vox super beatle cabinet but with no speakers in it...which speakers would you put in it to try and get the original super beatle cabinet speakers sound?
How much does one of these uaually cost?

Are you a collector or a dealer?
Marshallstack3203 1 month ago
YES! My g/f builds and restores guitars, and she can smell "old lacquer" in a second!
A local vintage dealer always hands her a Strat or Tele so she can sniff it.
She only works in lacquer, so she is around it all day.
Enjoy your videos, thank you for taking the time and thought you put into them.

It is the highest color. I also did Refinish to Inverness Green. It was a color of a Japanese car and there was furniture good [i] color.

@voltageguitarist there is a brand called Godin. They're made in Canada. Pretty clean stuff from what I've handled. Their acoustics are really nice.

@sirvidia Correct, the wilkinson has the correct radius. The radius of the original bridge, which I have, is not.

I played a 1965 firebird III in sunburst. Hummed like a bitch, but sounded amaaazing through the 100 watt marshall I was using.
