  • awesome :)

  • when he left he realized "WTF am i doing"

  • no

  • ive been doing arnis for a few years now but im inrested in doing somthing with long swords or even a katana but i wouldnt know where to start is there an kind of basic style which is uniivearsly considerd the basic style i know ots a stupid question but i figure i more likely to get a decent anwser out of you guys then anyone else...probally

  • que cara babaca, até eu faço isso x/

  • May I ask if this is a fightning style? If so, could you give me the name and maybe inform me a little about it? Thank you.

  • @kikikikia It's not any particular style. It's just me free-styling. I am trained in wing chun and jeet kune do, but this is just me playing around.

  • @LordNapalm I see, thanks

  • you have a good style but if i may add a suggestion.

switch your swords to smallswords and use less twirling or try reverse twirling...

  • @tiddle7 sorry i didn't mean that as instruction wise...i meant i'd like to see a video like that from you---

  • I agree with racethathird, and to add to his point you should also get the right footwork in.

  • lol its like u see sumone doing that then later a ninja comes from behind with a tazor ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT

  • yeah but how much of that would actually be decisive cuts? It appears that the side would hit many more times with all the twisting than the blade would...

  • Positively speaking_ I'm glad tht U have the appreciation & desire to apply your time to train N the use of these "Chinese Longswords". As U practice keep N mind the importance of not only fluidity, but "conviction N purpose"; meaning understnding the difference btwn wht is an actual strike & wht is merely a transition to a posture for "preparation" to strike.....conviction N purpose! I knw U could B an awsome swordsman 1 day. Please keep practicing safely & good luck N your training.

  • @Raceythathird Thank you very much for the kind words and constructive criticism. :)

  • you shouyld stick to the 2 sword technique as in 2 guys hitting thier cocks together

  • Ive seen swords like that before, Used like that 2, they look like a pair of Chinese Swords

  • @downtoearth1990

Yep, they are a pair. The come in the same sheath. One side of the handles are flat.

  • gay ass

  • Ya, like a lot of people have said, this was me "playing". It's not an instructional video :P

Maybe I should make one though, this was 3 years ago.

  • @LordNapalm Please do make one, I would love to learn how to do those tricks with as little injury as possible haha

  • Please upload more!

  • 4/5 for choreography, just need some more different moves.

  • like he said.. PLAYING with swords

  • all i would need to do to stop that is put ONE sword in the way of the blades and then the SECOND in to his gut... learn some real sword fighting techniques please...

  • YEAH CANADIAN CHAIRS BITCH! CAPS FTW

  • yeah kali > than this

  • want some real dual sword technique? learn kali/escrima/arnis

  • Kali is stick-fighting isn't it?

don't kill me if i'm wrong...

  • the original kali/escrima/arnis has vareity of weapons but the main emphasis is on bladed ones like swords or daggers..

  • that seems very flimsy and ineffective.

  • This is not a technique. It's just a show.

  • an amateur video. why not. an advice to make it less amateur: don't lift your leg when you're not supposed to, it's the easiest way for a fighter to take you off balanced.

  • I love videos like this, not just for the video itself, but for comments from people who know a hell of a lot more about fighting than I do, arguing over a technique's effectiveness or lack thereof, and whether or not the people in the vid actually know what the hell they're doing and if it's a good reference.

You guys help my writing and arts so much. <3

  • In the creator's defense, he DOES write in the description that his is "playing" with the swords. Though it is a tad mileading that the vid title says "technique". In any case, it is clear that any longsword style could undue this pattern in one well-placed blow, whether it be from a simple knight's longsword, a bastard sword, a greatsword, a talwar or shamshir even, rapier, broadsword, or japanese blades like katana, o-katana, nodachi, hell, even chinese gim, taiji, dao, or dadao.

  • Altough great for show, these techniques lack both power and effectivness. I once had a new student try this against me, and I simply struck his fists as they crossed. This pattern assumes that the other person will be too busy backing away. Once you know the pattern (which is not that hard to find out) you will see that it is very easy to inturrupt.

  • What's so great here to post it on youtube? Anyone can do that, you don't even have to be ambidextrous.

  • that should only be used to get cordination....

  • i agree with tlhoney but if u think about it this movement makes the hands extremely slippery so there are to conclusion in my opinion:1)if u r not very experienced u can cut yourself(because the blades rotate in a random movement manner) or 2) in a fight Vs one or maybe more a hard horizontal blow can make u miss the movement speed u used and break ur concentration, disarming u or even make u hit urself.I think this technique should be used only in a demonstration and not in a real fight.

  • There are ways of dealing with those issues. Look up T.O.A.S. Nabard's sword techniques.

  • seems like he uses techniques from poy's. (you know the balls on a robe, and some people put them on fire for show.) Not really martial arts. There are a lot of moment that he is flipping the sword handle, something not favoured in combat. But you what can you tell from one vid.

  • Poi balls were actually originally developed as a way to practice technique for the patu, mere, and kotiate style clubs. It would not be difficult to adapt the styles to swords, and it would probably work pretty well.

  • que mal weon encerio ke mal

  • dao = knife

    jian = sword

    jian dao = scissors?

    LOL

  • Thats an impressive way to shave!

  • nana yo queria que le pegue a la pared!

  • Isnt what your doing called kalli? (no idea how to spell it)

  • Looks like fun flourishes... but as said before, just make sure you don't think that's how people actually fought.

  • Actually, what he is doing is quite similar to some of the middle-eastern disciplines. If you can do it fast enough, it works surprisingly well when one is dealing with multiple opponents.

  • Nice to know how to handle a katana like that but there is no such technique which is thought by japanese. Bunch of westerners who doesn't know the real use of katana. No Disrespect. Keep it up!

  • They're not katana.. they're chinese longswords.

  • dao i think

  • i see straightswords (jian) but maybe that's just me

  • Right, because the Japanese are the world's sole source of all swordsmanship techniques, amirite?

  • looks cramped in there XD

  • heh you noticed? :P

  • a bit XD
