  • easier and faster the normal way

  • @xavcrack Is this multiplication method ok? Check it out! "Speed maths- Multiplying without multiplying". Click on my username and check the vid. Cheers.

  • I don't know how you would do this with larger numbers, but this is a good trick for people with visual spatial issues who can't line up their numbers properly.

  • What is the name of this method? What is the reference? I should like to know more about this.

  • Its gr8 way to master every person in maths as they will take interest in it.

i appreciate to the creator of this video hands up to you

  • ._. :s wow

  • Isn't bad if you are bored, and you want to draw something...

But, i think is easier to do:

    10x34 = 340 ; Now, 34+34 + 340 = 408

  • @Impozyble

This may cannot be applicable in all other conditions. For example: 24 X 12 = ? So use your method and see what i mean.

  • I find the common way more quicker. This is pretty long just for a small factor like that.

  • This is a pretty kewl trick. Not the best way to do multiplication but definately different. Thanks for sharing.

  • To the people complaining how this method is complicated/useless..

This vid was, in no way, made to replace easier/faster methods of multiplication. Its just showing you a more interesting way of solving multiplication problems, not forcing you to use it cause cmon.. have you ever seen anyone solve a multiplication problem like this?

  • To the people trying to defend this nonsense of a post or trying to advocate for it.

The method is crap... anyone with a decent base in mathematics can come up with a billion of similar stupid useless methods for multiplying.

Also, akaLakon, justify why the video is titled a multiplication trick ? If I was to suggest that a good way of multiplying 5 by 7 was to marry 5 women and have 7 children with each of them and then count the number of children.. would you call it a multiplication trick ?

  • A BILLION??!?!?

  • @d4rksol123

This method is to prove the distribution method NOT to replace multiplication. It is used to show the FOIL method: [a+b] [c+d] = ac+ad+bc+bd

    Thus: 11 x 11 = [10+1] [10+1]

    = 100 + 10 + 10 + 1

    =121

Again, this is not meant to "replace" long multiplication OR calculators. This is to prove the FOIL method/distributive law or for the hell of the fun.

  • since ur good in making videos for kids without calculators,,,why dont you try to make a video for me to calculate 78 sin98?

  • I've just posted a video response showing the Russian Grid Method, could you approve it please?

    watch?v=9h1cYwryKG4

  • What is the point of this ? To make it even harder than it is? try 88 X 78 by this method and I would like you to count each circle. This is very lame method.

  • Can you show me 19 x 19 using this method?

  • how would you do larger numbers, make a vdeo about that x

  • OMG

  • How would you do it with more digit numbers? since 2 digit you have 1 pair of 1 circle and 1 pair of a circle within another circle, for 3 would you have for example... if the first number was 111 x whatever

    0 0 0

    0 0 0

    0 0 0 ?

  • fuck i do not like the blue background after the movies can`t you create a pink one i found that coulour more wonderfull than blue aeh

  • this is gettin lamer and lamer,,,,,

  • I was trying 99*99 with circles :)

Now that's a lot of circles.

  • really, i did it faster in my mind with no drawings, i just got used to splitting numbers for easier operation.

    in this case 10 x 34 + 2 x 34 = 340 x 68 wich is 408.

think of other examples, it works every time...

  • yea i do it like that too!!!i dont get what hes drawin anyway!

  • show off.

  • lol...340 X 68=408???

    340 + 68=408...

  • you're right, my bad, typing mistake.

  • Hehe.. I also made a few mistakes like that... keep it up!

  • beautiful !

  • l'ho imparato!!! è facilissimo

  • This method is very, very effective but you don't really need to draw them, it just makes it quicker. You can represent them by using a matrix. it goes like this:

ab=cd (each letter represent a number but they don't multiply themselves)

    |a a| multiplied by |c d|

    |b b| |c d|

    It will become:

    |ac ad| (this time, the letters multiply)

    |bc bd|

and this will be the outcome:

ac(100)+(bc+ad)(10)+bd (again the letters here multipply)

  • Yeah. It is the same. Here is also video on youtube where someone does it like you say. This drawing is stupid.

  • te uff !

  • Good thinking. =D

  • the human brain is the most advanced thing we have, though it is not as fast as a calculator in most cases, I am sure there is some special way out there that we will some day discover and be able to do this in our heads.

and everybody does realize that the normal way we learned in 2nd grade is better then this.

  • there already is, it's called the Trachtenberg system.

I learned it yesterday, very cool and easy

  • or just use your brain... it's not fast as colculator but faster than this method...

  • my brain is faster than a calculator in 2*2 numbers multiplying

  • Your video is good, but has limitations. I tried multiplying 37x49 and couldn't get the answer. Would be nice if you add one more of your masterpieces.

  • The answer to 37*49 is 1,813.

  • I Got 1813 with this methods without any problem... what's the problem?

  • So nice that everyone here is a genius at head-calculations. You've never once in your life had to work out a problem on paper (or a calculator)?

Since you're all so smart I didn't think it would need explaining but this is an EXAMPLE.

  • i didnt understand how did u find the 408

  • i use my brain for calculation... /:)

  • I use a calculator

  • HELP PLEASE!! how to solve x^2 + 2x - 115 = 0

  • look for the pQ-formula on wikipedia and you shall be enlightened. ;)

  • An option that works is EZ Times Table, a book. Students make fun patterns on a blank sheet and create the whole times table. It is available on Amazon or on the web: EZTimesTable. Go there or click on MisterNumbers for a link to the video of 2nd grader. Learning multiplication in an hour.

  • Nice but all these cute tricks with lines and circles take way longer to do than just doing it the old fashioned way.

  • Great... Now show us an example of 9897949 * 995868.

  • @bugogorac calculator...

  • elegant and beautiful.

  • lord of the maths hahahaha

  • if you do your math that way your children will be born with an additional chromosome 21

  • matematikforum,tr,gg

  • matematikforum tr gg

  • lord of the maths

  • This is far more complicated than using the ordinary multiplication methods as taught in my school days of 50 years ago. What's the point of it?

  • just to show new methods. without new ideas this world would still be stonehendge or worse

    open up your mind

  • I'm not closed-minded- I just cannot see why it has to be so complicated and time-consuming.

  • waste of time

  • I'd rather use a calculator or my head, lol. But that confused the hell outta me nonetheless. Good work.

  • hahaha that was funnyXD (last comment)

  • try 89 times 78 and have a blast taking all day.

  • Doesn't anyone else realize that this method isn't real. The guys just divided the paper up and drew circles!

Can't people see that vedic math is also a prolonged visual representation that becomes completely innefficient for any integers greater than 4.

I wish that people who didn't understand what was going on wouldn't post

  • absolutely correct

  • I think this is easier than the lines method. Thanks

  • cool thanks :)

  • I'll still with an easier method to use in my head:

    (10*34) + (2*34)

    340 + 74 = 414

  • 2*34=68

btw, how to use his method?

    i tried 32*24 but it doesn't work

  • 2x34=68.... Jeez!

  • this is so cool! i've never seen something like that before.

  • grazie, thnks, gracias, ciao!

  • but thats kinda of a harder way for meh o_O...

  • nice ;)

  • This is the same as your line drawing one right? Except drawn differently. It's quite a nice way of imagining it though!

  • Hahhaa... niceee xDD

  • This shit is WAY slower than working it out

  • OMG MISS YOUTUBE IS HERE!!!!

  • haha :D

  • hard to tell whether one is from a pile of text. I'm a supergeek by the way :)

  • nice stupid joke

  • That took a lot longer to do than the method we learned in school and I suck at Arithmetic.

  • Mate, it's a joke!

  • *dies* my brain hurts.....

  • useless fukkkkkkkkkk

  • doesnt work too well for numbers like 19 x 28 (have to draw lotsa circles.)

  • it's not that hard, just multiply (when formula seen as AB x CD) A x C, A x D, B x C and B x D, then you'll have the exact amount of parts in every circle :)

  • lost...

  • hah, like when you said 19 x 28, i meant the formula as 1=A 9=B x 2=C 8=D, basically to make it easier. When you start to devide the 4 circles up into parts of the amounts 2 and 8, you can instead of counting every square in a circle, just multiply the amount of circles with the amount of parts of that circle, thus 1 x 2, 1 x 8, 9 x 2 and 9 x 8. Actually... i think i might've lost you even more now

  • wat if there is 4 wat do u do then.

  • Wow... i used that in math class my teacher likes using pics.

  • interesting but not very useful.

    Cool though.

  • Where did you get those circle? how can I know how many division should i put in a circle? and what happen to the 1 circle that represents number "2"? ( I know its stupid question) need more examples. lol

  • i fell asleep

  • Wow! This is so cool. I ant to grow up to be this cool and smart

  • that's the bubble method

  • thank you!

  • pfft who cares?

  • I'd rather use a calculator.

    Or even do the math.

  • nice drawing :D but you can calculate this 5 times while you draw that shit....

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!

  • cool, where did you learn this?

  • omg...so many time for this???

  • wtf??????????????????????

    oO

  • thats a good way... IF YOUR A FUCKING RETARD!. I fell asleep watching this shit! x

  • i just use a cal-q-later =P

  • Another graphical multiplication trick

Why do you think it says "Another"

It neither says "it is the best technique ever" nore "calculators suck"...

  • Another graphical multiplication trick

Why do you think it says "Another"

It neither says "it is the best technique ever" nore "calculators suck"...

  • Ha, people that post about how it takes too long so it is stupid just don't get it! It's like a Rube Goldberg machine - the interest is in the process, not the efficiency of the design!

  • I totally agree with you.

  • gay

  • Hum ok, 1 minute to find the result, I did it in 5 seconds...

  • neat technique :-))

if you break it down to what you usually do in multiplication it is the very same thing just a little bit more visual :-))

    i like it !! :-))

  • looks like a lot of work - neat tho..

  • i worked that out faster in my head

  • that is so fake!

jk. Ive been looking at videos all day because I have nothing better to do and thats all I see...no matter what

  • I know, or with lattice or something :D

  • I don't get it!!

  • the person who calculates things like 12*34 with this technique is an idiot ... it's much easier to make this using a column...

  • lol, yeah it's even easier to do it in your head

  • No one actually calculates things like this. It's just a math trick. And why have you resorted to name calling? Who are you to judge who's an idiot? Very mature...

  • i dont get it

  • me either!

  • stupid are those who don't use a calculator!!! JK no one is really stupid everyone has their own way, so stop insulting those who didn't get it ya hurd?!!!!!

  • fuckn retarded!

for those of you who dont get it:

the 3 is next to the circle divided 3 ways, reading "30"

the same does not apply to the 10

    30 + 10 = 40 and just throw the last number on the end = 408.

  • wow, that's clever!

  • :( I don't get it

  • Lol

  • i thought you were drawing lady bugs

  • Lmfao.

  • lol

  • omgwtfrotflmao.

  • A picture is worth a thousand words and 408 is worth a lot of pictures.

  • this sucks i'd better use da old way

  • god this example is shit,

    12x 34 for me its

    10x34 + 2x34

    340 +68=408

try to find a harder example

  • 67x83

  • I think I understood that - LOL!

    -=PasstheyawnDOTcom=-

  • wow. that was kind of neat. but i doesnt exactly fit standards of learning and im sure my teacher would blow her top if she saw me doodling in class.

  • I think you need more liberal teachers. XD

  • probably yes ^^ lol

  • I had the time to go outsite buy a Kebab and you were still on it!

  • or you could just do it in your head for a fifth of time :O

  • groove, kind a stupid and log but still cool

  • hes actually not solving the problem in a different way than if you did normal math. hes just using circles to represent the different numbers. on the left side is 3 * 2 and 3 * 1 and on the right side is 4 * 1 and 4 * 2 it just looks cool

  • Hmm all so inteligent based on your responses !!!

Good then explain why it works........

Ohhhh and at the same time why 3x2= 33.

    Bye !!!

  • Hahahah you're fucking ignorant

  • very cool

  • Standard method is still ten times quicker

  • pretty cool.

  • what do u think, ur a friggin genius?

why didnt u explain what the hell u were doin.

pff....tryin to teach math with a bunch of robot nipples..

    u should be ashamed.

  • LMAO!!!!

  • Um, okay, let's see 99x99.

  • that would be 9,801

  • Broooggghhh !!! Thor understands ! Thor happy !

  • great but, for a larger number what do you do? what signs do you use for continue moltiplication? Thanks

  • it takes a minute to do it with this method, but it takes 5 seconds with a calculator. im not using my brain anyway so why the eff would i do this instead of using a calculator?

  • what was that? were you doing math or just drawing robot nipples?? looks like robot nipples and lines and shit to me. PS i could have done that faster in my head.
