  • Man, this was the teaser trailer my sister was talking about. I can't believe she saw and I didn't! I'm a bigger fan of Henry Selick than she is.

You know what the wierd thing is?

I got the movie the day it came out but I never got to use the glasses.

  • This is an awsome movie!

  • I think I saw this teaser when I saw Bolt last Thanksgiving break.

  • hi =)

this movie is really great... if you wanna see a good parody of this movie enter to: karinaline y la puerta no tan secreta

    it is amazing!!! =P

  • its creepy but so fascinating

  • i love this

  • i love this trailer

  • i love this trailer

  • is this ever going to be on dvd? if it is, when? the anticipation is driving me nuts!!!!

  • june 28th its out on dvd

  • Ugh! It was extended to July 21st!

  • Genius book (Neil Gaiman). Genius Movie (Henry Selick). Genius Score (Bruno Coulais). Made by complete Geniuses.

  • agreed

  • never watch this movie when ur baked. itll mess u up.

  • i love this movie and this is an alsome trailer but i thought tim burton was the director of the nightmare before christmas..or was he the creator?

  • Burton wrote and illustrated the poem upon which TNBC was based, so the story and some character design are his, but Henry Selick directed the film.

  • ha makes sense now xp

  • I cant get enough of this trailer!

  • OwO I have the soundtrack for this movie! It's awesome and an awesome movie!

  • where can i find this song. its like "dreaming" without the lyrics!

  • I don't know, maybe the instumental or "Mechanical Lullaby" from the soundtrack?

  • actualy you can find this song

  • um, well i dunno i have the soundtrack has this song, "dreaming" and the other version "mechanical lullaby" but the only differ is that in dreaming the other mother hums at the end,

  • Quite possibly the greatest teaser ever made!!! And the world's greatest movie!! Henry rocks!

  • Me: "Some Doors Should Never Be Open." How mysterious! I LOVE IT! <3

  • Me: Dang, I sure do LOVE Other-mother's hands! xD

    They're freakin' awesome!

  • where is the song from this video.

  • Oh lol this movie was awesome

Lol when the old ladies were performing, that was SOOO unexpected I actually jumped up and spilled all my popcorn on my friend lol

  • this is NOT what this movie was about so who has the right to say that???? this movie was awesome. That part was just supposed to be funny. You shouldn't even bring that up. PLUS it was a book for KIDS!!!

  • i noticed something on the doll coraline in the movie and teaser. the teaser coraline doll's mouth looks more like the mouth on a rag doll but in the movie, the mouth is more like the one a normal doll would have.

  • yah! and at first the dolls neckmis fat then skinny then fat . and the doll in the new trailer u can tell the mouth was reswon over and over. then there are no stitch marks.

  • HEY READ THIS ! at first the doll has a fat neck then it suddenly has a skinny one.

  • well, the doll is layed down at the beginning. the neck will be filled with sand and pushed together. therefore, skinny! i love this movie.

  • well the dolls neck is fat and very close and attached to the head but later it gets long and skinny.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!

  • This movie was sooo awsome! I rembe rthis at the beggining.

  • I remember seeing this when I saw Beowulf back in November 2007. I had never heard of the book until I looked it up, but I still realized three things at once:

    1. This movie is stop motion. F*** YEAH.

    2. Henry Selick + Neil Gaiman= maximum awesome.

    3. I want to see this, NOW.

Then, of course, I came home and found out that it wouldn't be coming out until February '09. I was bummed, but it made me more excited.

  • the end was awesome how the other mother turns all freaky with her spider legs

  • 00:28 was so cool in 3D

  • The part where the two old ladies in the show burnt my eyes!!

  • lolz! Same here!!

  • lol i turned to my friend in the movie and was like "i'm hard" he just laughed for like 10 minutes

  • u got that right.... my mom made us leave after that... i was like O_O' "whyd they put THIS into a kids movie!" i agree with Coraline, "oh my God..."

  • This is an interview.

Q- There's a buxom character voiced by (yadda, yadda, yadda) who performs on stage in just a bikini bottom and elaborate, um, pasties. What led to that choice?

A- Well, she's reenacting a famous work of art, Botticelli's The Birth Of Venus. She had to wear the appropriate costume! Some people were concerned about that scene, but ultimately the ratings board had no problem at all. You know, it's not going to corrupt anyone's morals or anything, it's just funny.

  • exactly!

this is the most awesome movie ever made!

    go Coraline!!! =>

  • hahaha!! my friends and were like "TURN AWAY..."

  • i just dont get why skeleton hands are making it... i guess i gotta watch the movie to understand it, right? lol

  • theyre the other mothers hands, if you notice the fingers are made of sewing needles

  • That is the Other Mother and she is making a Coraline doll that is a spy pretty much. She makes dolls that look like all the kid's that she has put in her little "Trap!"

  • Such a good movie

  • I saw it with my little brother like a week ago, it seemed to me over-childish to the second half of the movie, ´cause being a Gaiman story (Which is really excusable from being a children movie but i had a really good time with it).

  • This moving was absolutely amazing.

  • yeah the movie was better than the book.

  • *laughs*

    Uhhh... no.

  • thats your opinion.

  • i saw the movie and i loved it! SO GOod!

  • Yes. I saw it today and it was so much better than I expected. I expected it to be some completely kid-oriented light and fun cartoon, but they still kept the dark elements of the book and were very true to the book.

  • yah! i actually thought alot of parts werent apropriate for kids. i loved i the book is my favourite( i read it nine times) and now the movies my favourite. thanx neil gaiman and henry selick!

  • cool! i wanna see it sooo bad!!! but, can u tell me why skeleton hands are making the doll? or robot hands... w/e it looks like daddy long legs lol!!! but srsly can u tell me why?

  • You'll have to see the movie for yourself...Lol but I'll give you a hint :"Everything is not always as it seems to be. What you believe to be your dream come true may just be a "web" of lies and hidden secrets." thats just about the movie...but to answer your question... I dont wanna be the spoiler but you asked!! It's the other mothe's hands..they're making the doll because she knows it will somehow get to Coraline...its to spy on her to see what she wants so she can make the "better world".

  • well i didnt get 2 c all the movie, but those r the other mother's hand and they're made out of sewing needles! i think they look cool! but yeah there made from interlocking sewing needles!

  • why didn't you get to see the whole movie?

  • Oh, they ARE made out of sewing needles. I didn't notice that before now. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's a shame your mother made you leave. It's a great movie (and it was expensive where I saw it so it seems like a waste of money) and excellently made. It also has quite a few variations on the book which makes it more than a dull adaptation.

  • MUST.

    WATCH.

    MOVIEEEEE!!!!!

  • YES.

    YOU.

    MUSSSST!!!!!

  • lol

  • Muito boooom! Já li o livro 3 vezes! Quero ver o filme *-*

  • nice punch line. and its true, some doors should never be opened...

  • yeah that reminds me when i saw a cp video when a dumb penguin touched a button and the whole ship exploded and the captain kept telling him not to press the button.

  • how did u get this in 2008?

  • I looked EVERYWHERE on Youtube for the doll making prossess,I liked that part in the moviesand I wanted to see it again. It wasnt the full process but its good enough.

  • That was the only creepy part. The insides of old dolls... Ack! it makes me shiver!

  • henry selick?! no tim burton made nightmare before crhistmas not henry selick!

  • tim burton wrote and produced it but didn't direct it.

  • tim burton wrote and produced the nightmare before christmas. thats why it's called 'tim burton's nightmare before christmas'. henry selick directed it.

  • I kinda like how the music for this trailer is kinda the same as in the opening credits of the movie.

  • It's basically the same, only in the movie it's longer and has people singing. But I like this version too.

  • The book is way better. They changed a couple of things around.

  • It was Selicks vision, as it was meant to be. Not yours.

  • This movie is amazing,I love this part,it's creepy and so amazingly done.

  • awesome! that movie rocked!

"You may think this world is a dream come true...But you're worng!"

  • this movie was sooo awsome!

  • HUMONGOUS SPOILERS LIKE HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Coralines parents are never really captured. The other mother still ives after being trapped her hand escapesinto the real world. other whybe gets disfigured by other mother and dies. Other mother isa spider. Rats/dolls are spies of other mother.

  • ....did you even read or watch Coraline? Because you have it all wrong...

  • Yes, they were trapped, they just don't know it anymore. And those spoilers aren't really either HUMONGOUS or HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEE.

  • In fact, that was pretty random stuff you said.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

the hand is really a bunch `o needles

    ITS SO COOL!!!~

  • i saw thsi movie yesterday it was AMAZING!!! u have to see it its so good!!! make sure to pay attention to everything tho or else u could get a little confused!

  • i didnt see it in 3d. and i still thought it was great. somthings in the story never are explained...kinda like it like that

  • Things like what?

  • creepy ._.

  • just wondering...what are teasers really ?

are they just adds that never were used or something?

  • Teasers are the first trailers to pop up for a film. They're usually shorter than a regular trailer, ranging from about forty seconds to a minute or so, just to peak interest without revealing too much about a film (partially because they're still working on the film's effects, editing, soundtrack, etc). Teasers are indeed shown in theaters, and the regular sized trailers, about two to three minutes long, show up a few months after.

  • This movie had better be true to the book...since Gaiman sent the manuscript of the book to Selick 18 months before it was even published :-)

  • I am going to see it tommorow!

  • OMG!!!! it looks so good i cant wait!!!

  • the book of this is pretty good ^^ The movie came out yesterday :P

  • oh shit that last line gives me the shivers lol

  • heh..... sorta creepy at the end...

  • Wahh! i wanna watch it so bad! i'd also LOVE to read it!

  • I JUST finished the book today. Even before I read it, I wanted to see the movie SOOOOOO bad. Now I only have to wait until Friday. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH can't wait that long @_@

  • what's the name of the song?

  • I would love to know. Maybe it's original?

  • Comment removed

  • Dreaming, It's on the Soundtrack. Although they seem to use only the instrumental of it.

  • Does the rat song appear in the movie, like in the book?

  • No, the rats don't sing at all in the movie.

I recommend to go see the movie for yourself though. The plot keeps jumping from the changes made to the original book to the book!

  • IM going freeking psyco waiting for it!!!

  • I learned the full commercial by heart i read the book and oh it is so good

  • me too before the REAL trailers came out I TOTALLY memorized this teaser.

  • GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE

  • i really want to see yhis

  • I really want to see this!!

  • I normally hate 3D but this movie is the first stop-motion animated one to be shot in 3D so I may just have to see it in 3D for that!!

I have complete confidence in Henry Selick!!

This movie looks so good!! 2 Thumbs up from here!!

  • Visit Petition Online, keyword "Coraline."

The keyword is case sensitive, so type exactly as you see it.

  • wait a minute, I thought Tim Burton directed the nightmare before christmas

  • He produced it.

  • no he created it, he just came up withthe ideas, and another director actually DID it

  • He produced it AND created the characters in the story. Henry Selick directed it.

  • no he didn't i think he was the actor?

  • Tim Burton created the nightmare before Christmas, he created the characters and plot, it was all his idea, it is his movie, but he was busy with his batman movie so Henry Selik was asked to direct it

  • I remember seeing some movie or other w/ my friend, and they handed us the 3d glasses for the trailer as we walked in. And everyone was all "what the heck?" then this came on. EVeryone in the theater was all, "That was pointless!" but I LOVED IT!!! In 3D it was that much creepier!

  • my last comment was meant for toajaller5544

just to clear up things a bit

  • ok,please don't call me a noob for this, but,i have yet to figure this out....dose coraline have blue or black hair? and cool trailer! i wanna go see the movie!

this book is so scary i almost got nightmares

    heh the other mother

some doors should never be opened

ima go watch the movie because it might be good

  • the book isn't scary, I just found it weird that when she was talking to the policeman and he said have some hot chocolate, then when she went to the other world the other father gave her hot chocolate.

  • 0_o

    good point

    anyways

couldnt the other mother have created the fence to keep the cat out herself?

if so the other fathjer didnt have to buiuld it

    great book though

  • I remember seeing the preview for this a long time ago, when Meet the Robinsons came out. It bugged the heck out of me that I saw it once, then didn't hear about it again. Till yesterday! :D

  • anyone know where to find the song from the trailer?

  • I wanna see this movie

  • Whats up with the doll? Was that in the book?

  • Nope. It's symbolism for what the Other Mother wants to do to Coraline.

  • Spooky

  • i thout this was a tim burton movie didnt he do nightmar befor christmas

  • Selick directed The Nightmare Before Christmas, while Tim Burton wrote it.

  • no he was the producer henry selick was the director

  • read this in eighth grade. it was so strangely awesome.

  • LOVE THE BOOK, so read it!

the movie is not even half of the adventure in the book!!

  • I can't wait to the movie! I got the book last night and i finished it this mooring i stayed up all night reading it! I loved it!!!!!!

  • I read the book it is now one of my favs.

  • um...I kinda love the music in this one. Anyone know the song? D:

  • please reply to this. i need to know the song!!!

  • i ♥ coraline!! its like my favorit book!! ^_^ cant wait!!

  • Are the hands the Other Mother's hands?

  • hey those of you who have read the book, do know if there is like a condensed version of the book that's not as long as the original? Cuz if there is, I think I might have gotten that version by mistake. It doesn't say "condensed version" anywhere on the book, but I just feel like part of the book was missing. Because the plot was very clever and fascinating, but there was all this stuff that I expected was going to be explained at one point, but then it was never really explained.

  • I haven't heard of a condensed version either. But seeing that the original has only 194 pages I don't think it'd be necessary to shorten the book.

what parts did you feel needed explaining?

  • Well I just looked and my book is 162 pages, but I don't see why they would shorten it like that. I felt like the whole button eyes thing wasn't explained and should have been, i felt like it should have been explained why the other mother wanted to keep Coraline so much, and I thought it should of been explained why the stone with the whole was magic. Besides that it was an amazing book though.

  • Neil Gaiman obviously felt the buttons didn't need to be explained, any more than most storytellers explain why vampires's incisors grow when they need to feed. It's just taken as a given and that's it. Besides, it's creepier not to have it explained, isn't it? As for why she wants children, even the cat isn't sure. She's a creature that wants something to play with or something to eat...you can't tell with things like that and so the reader is left to make up their minds about her.

  • Well ya know what? I posted that comment awhile ago, and since then I went back and re-read the book, and the button eyes actually do have a significance. You know how the things in the other world are just variations of things in the real world? Well the buttons actually do come from something. At least I think they do if I read the book correctly lol!

  • I've read the book a few times. While this teaser shows a typical doll with button eyes (hinting the other mother makes people into dolls to be played with), I don't recall the eyes having any explanation in the book. All the copied humans have buttons for eyes--Miss Spinks, Miss Forcible, the creepy old man upstairs, the other father, etc. There's even a copied picture featuring a boy with something wrong with his eyes. But there's no explanation about them. To what conclusion did you come?

  • same here jordyd10

  • I hope it's PG-13 so there won't be any little kids in the theater to ruin the creepyness!!!XD

  • i saw this trailer when i went to see High School Musical 3 and i was like "what the heck is coraline?" but i was in my library at school and found the book and was like "what the heck?" so i checked it out and its sooooo good! its kinda scary but its goood!!!! haha cant wait 4 the movie =D

  • The official trailer is OUT!!!

  • im going 2 see it- love the book.

trailer doesnt look 2 gr8 though

  • im excited! at first i thought i didnt like the book but later i loved it. very creepy. but isnt the door like gigantic, and in a hallway?
