@factsanddata The Orthodox church which was before the Catholic church, is not Protestant & claims to be the one true & original church, almost 2000 years old & numbering 300 million members today. Like the evangelicals they too are deeply divided doctrinally from the Monson movement of Maroni & the approx. 100 break off groups that are Mormon.

I do disagree. The Mormons only withheld the 'priesthood' from blacks. If you claim they have a made up church, then you must also believe their priesthood is made up... therefore you must concede they withheld nothing from the blacks. If their church is true, then it was God himself who was withholding the priesthood... so in order for you to prove your point, you must prove the mormon church is false.

You assume a lot.

First the priesthood of Judaism is authentic. Mormons just withheld a synthetic version of the Aaronic priesthood that ONLY decedents of Aaron can even hold (Numbers 3:10). And the Melchizedek priesthood that only Jesus can and does hold (Hebrews 7:23-28)

Just because the Mormon version is not authentic, doesn't mean that they didn't discriminate

It's easy to show the Mormon priesthood is false.

1. The priesthood of Aaron, is the priesthood of sacrifice/atonement. This was fulfilled in Jesus. Hebrews 7. It never needs to be done again. Jesus did it once and for all.

2. The priesthood of Aaron can ONLY be held by Aaron's decent, not just anyone can hold it. Most Mormons aren't decent of Aaron, nor do they claim to be. Numbers 3:10

Numbers 3:10 says WHO can be High Priest?

Lineage of Aaron right?

Hebrews 7:23-28 says WHO is High Priest now?

In the Bible there was not more than 1 High Priest at a time. There was only 1 true high priest at a time. 83 total from Aaron to the second fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

But here is a good one. Hebrews 8:4 says Who couldn't be priest on earth?

And why not?

And if Jesus couldn't be priest while He was on earth, this begs the question. Why?

It all relates back to Numbers 3:10.

Jesus couldn't break the covenant that God made with Aaron and his decent, or else Jesus wouldn't be the spotless lamb.

Jesus was of the tribe of Judah. Not of the priestly tribes. Therefore He could not be priest - on earth - just as Hebrews 8:4 says.

So if Jesus couldn't be priest on earth, because of His lineage. Same applies to others as well.

not my argument but i think your wasting time. any point you touch on will be diflected or disputed. ultimatly the truth of Christianity was the overthrow of ritual sacrifice. this proves the mormon holds a bloody knife and not Christs priesthood.

"Blood of the Prohets" by Bill Bagley is also well documented book!

Lots of opinion, not historically contexted. Phrases like "by some accounts..." what about historical fact? I heard words like probably, maybe, and believe.  Let's get some honest reporting about this. Amplify? Truth outreach? Trying to find it? Worst tragedy? "My opinion?" No documentation about Brigham Young's involvement. No evidence. I would really like to see some responsible reporting on this topic. I am still waiting.
