sad. this will affect young, up and coming talent. the established arts dont need public funding. i wonder how the history boks will record this. it is, once more, youth that will suffer.
I love music and art, but I see NO reason why it should be a funded by the public. These are hobby subjects. We can re-direct that capital into useful means like NHS.
SOMERSET? good - arts grants dont save lives - what has it got to do with the council - arts ? time to get real jobs guys - people are losing frontline services helping vulnerable people bollox to funding arts.
"hile other more deserving companies can whistle in the wind?" That is the only wrong part of the description. Who is or is not 'deserving' is not for the state to decide. It is immoral and unacceptable that stolen money be given to ANY company; that is crony capitalism writ large.
@loveisall1000 I not sure how to reply to that, I enjoy commenting on posts, if that deems me a troll then I guess I am, comments are there for opinion, if my opinion is not to your liking then I suggest you skip over what I say.
Government founding of the arts also pollutes the arts. Now you have the government deciding what art is. Instead of letting the free market of ideas deciding what art is.
So sad, and this is only the beginning of it all.
