Oh, Gosh! Aren't you the guys who wrote the tell-all book that came out the day he died? I seem to recall you told all about Elvis, but lied about your own adulterous affairs (I remember...I was there!) Golly, you must have felt bad that he died right at the time (the very day) you sold him out. How much did the book bring you, by the way? Was it worth it? And listening to a little of what you're saying here, you're still selling him out to this day....for shame.
Very touching video, from Elvis His Closets Friends. I never met them but I can feel what they feel. I want to say to everyone in this video. Think Always back that you where so Close to Elvis and Think about the Wonderful Time you all had With Elvis.
You listen to these men and watch their expressions, they loved Elvis, they didn't lose a paycheque and a boss, they loss their brother, father, and best friend all at the same time. To be be able to sit and spend time with Elvis' inner circle would only be described by one word, priceless.
These men loved Elvis,I had my doubts until about 6 yrs ago i got thes tapes and watched them.I always though Red and Sonny loved him ,But Billy Idolized him .

@Elvisworld...Gladys' over protection of Elvis was understandable since she lost his twin at birth, & couldn't have any more. I don't think Elvis was coddled at all compared to today's kids. He worked from an early age. I don't know what you mean by primped. She hand made his clothes because she had to, & kept him clean, but why denigrate that? You forgot that Gladys worked like a dog in the cotton fields dragging a baby Elvis & worked the factories. That woman never had anything handed to her!
There's a very good reason that the historical record of E's iconic career indelibly includes an extremely loving, mutually reciprocal, relationship with his mother - unlike any other superstar then or today. Because it was true.
It has been printed widely that Elvis and Gladys had a secret language , interpreted as "Baby Talk", but with Vernon hitting Gladys as was known to happen, maybe just maybe when Gladys said on the phone to Elvis GooGoo BooBoo, I wonder if it really meant Vernon is winding up to hit me again, ring him and defuse him! This could possibly be the real secret to the baby talk. Its worth pondering on.
Damifray The "Baby Talk" was separate from the secret language. Elvis used baby talk with many of his women & they all loved it. I know his early girlfriends like Dixie Locke, Anita Wood & later Priscilla have all talked about it. Anita has said that Elvis would get right in her face & baby talk to her with his mother there. The secret language was just using replacement words like they used "butch" for "milk." Elvis supposedly talked to some of his other relatives that way too.
Sharp ears, so vernon hit Gladys more people should know about this. He was Mamas protector ringing home all the time, to see that she hadnt been bashed by Vernon, so much for being a Mamas boy, there was domestic violence going on, he rang all the time just to check his Dad didnt bash his Mama.He was Mamas protector, not Mamas boy. The truth is now out.
Elvis met Ann Margret just a few months after Priscilla moved in. Elvis had to make promises to Priscilla's dad to marry her some day, but there was no formal commitment & in the 3 yrs since Elvis left Germany in 3/60 & Priscilla moved in 3/63 at almost 18, they had only seen each other for two 2 wk visits Priscilla made in 62 & both had dated others. Elvis Anita Wood who didn't leave GL until 8/62, & affairs with leading ladies like Juliet Prowse, Tuesday Weld, Joan Blackman Anne Helm, etc.
Priscilla dated boys in high school. I feel they were apart so long that they developed an idealized love that couldn't stand up to reality. Ann Margret said when she & Elvis met, they both knew what was going to happen because a current of electricity shot through them that became a "force" they couldn't control, & they fell in love. Elvis even went to Ann in 67 before he announced Pris pregnancy to tell her how he still felt & tried to get her back after his separation in 72.
They were both beautiful and I think Elvis had a love for them both, but it was different. As I said I think with Priscilla it was idealized & became more like family love, and he was IN love with Ann. Priscilla leaving Dec 30, 71 did NOT kill Elvis almost 6 yrs later!
Look these boys are telling the truth. I'm glad to hear their side about what happened. It was really sad. They were under a lot of preasure trying to hold someone up that just could not take care of himself anymore. Really sad what these guys went thru. They lost their best friend.
I am rereading their book right now and I find it so funny in places (only cuz of the way they tell the stories) - but I TRULY believe these guys loved Elvis. Telling somebody the truth is not betraying them. People endulging Elvis was what eventually hurt Elvis. And these guys knew it. And I believe they loved him.
Out of all the interviews I have seen of the Memphis Mafia and everyone associated with him, Why has his last girlfriend, Ginger Alden I think her name was, ever give an interview? Anyone know why? Thanks for posting
these sure have been through alot. after elvis, thier lives must have been empty beyound belief. i think they did what they could to help elvis. i dont know for sure for i wasnt there. but from what i just seen, they really did the best they could to help him. you boys take it easy and God bless you.
I love Sonny's grin when he says "She had every right to be!" referring to Priscilla being intimidated by Elvis's relationship with Ann Margret. Priscilla and Elvis were not married or formally committed at the time, and had actually only seen each other a total of 4 or 5 weeks, on two visits in 62, in the 3 yrs after Elvis left Germany in 3/60 and she moved in 3/63.
Ann Margret was a very important love for Elvis. She said in her book that when they met they both knew what was going to happen because an electrical current shot through them that would become a "force" they couldn't control. What kept them apart is promises Elvis had to make before Priscilla moved to Graceland just a few months before in 3/63 at almost 18. Ann just says "Elvis had promises to keep." The affair lasted a yr, and Elvis tried to get Ann back after his separation in 72.
After listening to Ann's interview again, she says the affair lasted over a year. Everything I have said is the truth taken from Guralnik's Careless Love, Elvis: Day by Day that gives exact dates & documentation. Plus Ann Margret: My story & an interview that on YT "Ann Margret Talks About Elvis" where she says great things about Elvis In contrast, Priscilla makes him look terrible in her movie in particular. I think these guys cared about Elvis--including Red and Sonny.
whats hard for people to understand about our heros is they are human beings just like us. yes they have a special talent. and its hard to imagine that they make mistakes just like we do in everyday normal life. elvis was and will always be one of the greatest artist of all time. and we all wish we could have been so lucky to get that close to them on a personal side to say hey. i knew him. whats bad is stars are judged so much harder in life than me and you could ever imagine. god bless .,
Blame blame blame.... Elvis wasn't blind or stupid, and he chose to employ these men as part of his entourage/crew. Hell, they ADDED to the Elvis mystique! So why do people bash them as "hangers on" and criticize them for their insights into his life when we're all dying to hear what they have to say??? What impresses me is how loyal everyone is to his memory.

ELVIS WAS captured by the Soviet KGBs. He couldn't do what he wanted because of them. They controlled him. Joe Esposito was one all along and it was a Soviet game to get Elvis and take advantage and destroy him. They won.
I think these guys cared alot. I don't know why they wrote the book--but there is real love being shared in this video. I think Elvis' situation was so unique and it was like building blocks--one thing led to another and another until it ended badly for them all.
I think they wrote the book to try and HELP Elvis. They wanted him to see what he couldn't see. They didn't WANT to hurt him. But sometimes you have to stop endulging people (as they had all done) and hold the person accountable. Unfortunately, it was too late. But I believe these guys loved and still love Elvis. I'm rereading their book (read it years ago) and I haven't read one word that makes me think they are being mean spirited.
only one that realy did anything on his own before and after elvis died was red west.he wrote songs many elvis recorded( seperate ways,if every day was like christmas and more)and became a good actor.the rest were leeches

Big fat Lamar and his crocodile tears. Shame he did more than cry. Shame he told Goldman such horrible crap. Shame he has no real respect for Elvis. BIG FAT PIG
Elvisworldwide, You did one great job on making this video I bought the DVD, their is always two sides to the story. and by seeing this dvd, more people will understand what both sides went throught .. I have total respect for Elvis and love is music and always will. Thank you
don't think anyone in elvis' entourage really loved him.His so called buddies liked him and enjoyed the ride,as for his wife, there are so many rumours you don't know where to look. But from what I read, heard and had the chance to meet many people who knew him,Elvis could be a pretty complicated person to be around. Its true that without priscilla, graceland might have been sold or worst.I guess its best to just enjoy his music and leave behind the negativity for it just helps tarnish the good time
If you hate something that doesn't exist - then your hatred is misguided. However, if you hate something that did exist for hate's sake - then you are a hatemonger.
You've never denied being a hatemonger. I don't hate you for being a hatemonger or I would have blocked you already.
I find your ignorance and hatred useful. Because it binds the rest of us together even closer. Ironically, the love you try to destroy makes it stronger. It's always worked that way between good and evil.
strungout you here again I see.You really are obsessed with Elvis aren't you? You need to find a new hobby and stop talking through your ass on all these sites you little shit.
"AS YOU CAN SEE,I LOVE ELVIS.I ADORE EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM AND ANY HATERS ARE NOT WELCOME ON THIS PAGE.I WILL DEFEND HIM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE HE DESERVES NO LESS.
HE LOVED HIS FANS AND WE IN TURN LOVE HIM BACK.WITHOUT QUESTION."
I love Elvis, for his talent and for him as a person. There is nothing that people like you can do which will ever dent my affection. Some people are just so unhappy inside that they envy other people's ability to love. I pity you
Elvis was "broken" because the truth came out. He was a doctor-shopping drug addict, all of the "Memphis Mafia" have admitted it by now, and the only ones who don't believe it don't *want* to hear the truth. Stick your heads in the sand.
I noticed that you have an interview by the great John Lennon. The same John Lennon who idolized Elvis in the 50's - the same John Lennon who met Elvis in the 60's and adored him - the same John Lennon who was a drug addict - the same John Lennon who famously wore a lapel pin proclaiming "Before Elvis, there was nothing."
You are a small-minded, hateful hypocrite. We look forward to your continued intellectual musings.
Strungout, we prefer so let you stick your nose up are backsides....Listen carefully we are have no time for retards like you ...Get along now...I heard you have a very pleasant post of sorts??
I read the book Elvis What Happend, This was not a story of the man I knew ( Elvis Presley ) swore I would never read another book on Elvis..Never have...YTR
Sure they pointed at Elvis but as a raw young man with a shy and gentle disposition... dare these same rotten hens laugh later...well Elvis not only had the last laugh but i guess is still laughing ,...
Elvis with his good looks and charm Im sure none of the women were laughing only the guys who were secretly hoping to have the guts he displayed in being different!.
these boys knew him and did their best to protect him. elvis turned on them and abused them as friends and as brothers. without these men, who knew elvis better then anyone deserve some respect. so back off! they love elvis and you can still see it. i dont like the book they wrote elvis what happened, but i understand i think why they did do it. they were there, not us.
Glynamus...Were you there...I guess not so shut the fuck up now! These men cared yes a great deal but as I said befor the love turned to greed drunken brawls and and womanizing...they were treated like royality, paid to do a job to protect him failed miserably. Cost Elvis millions in lawsuits and thrown out by Vernon sadly after many warnings /were to return but YET again greed and lies in a book which BOMBED ,,,took its toll on them!
whoa! relax or something. i never met E. I was 11 when i heard he died that afternoon. you asked if i knew him and i ask you the same, did you meet him? if so when and where, share it please.
Strungout...I think a dick is waiting in the form of Sttrungoutsacocksucker...sorry folks thats someones ID too! Strungout is in denial regarding the massive differences that are so obvious between a between a Beatle Elvis in awe fans that proclaimed him the Greater and that of.... The King himself!
While...Elvis wasnt in awe of anyone see strungstring...
I have a question for you, why do you use so much energy talking about Elvis this way? I feel sorry for you, I can only imagine how pathetic your life must be. Maybe you should find something positive in your life and focus on that. You'll probably feel better....
If you don't "worship" him, then why do always post comments about him? Why are you always talking about him? And by the way, you don't know me, so don't assume I'm mentally challenged. Get a life.
You see that is your problem, you don't believe in God, that is why you are so hateful and judgemental, by being that way you only prove more that God exists, for only people who don't know the peace that God gives spend ALL their time being critical.
I agree. Outspoken hatred of God makes believers in God that much more passionate about defending God - works in mysterious ways! The hollow shell of a human being who came along without solicitation to malaciously denegrate Elvis and his fans - is an evil spirit.
No strungout you may not worship a "dead drug addict" as you call him but your obsessed with him, only a obsessed person could possible spend their time on Elvis video's when they dislike him so much.
I spend about 5 minutes a day at this. You freaks build elaborate YouTube shrines with hearts and flowers, get together to talk about how great he was, network with each other to discuss what to do about *me*, and create passive-aggressive tantrum channels when you can't shut me or the truth up.
I throw pebbles, and you morons get whipped into a hate frenzy tsunami. If that's not obsession,I don't know what is.
Nobody has the energy to hate you, I just wish you would see that these guys loved him like a brother and you taking shots at him to them is just wrong.
Did they best?????? By what ? A SO CALLED TELL ALL TALE WITH WONDERFUL LAYERS a little truth and lots of fillings? Or were they paid to destroy him? Thats exactly what they did! He WEPT!! He knew, had the confidence of a man so loved by his fans ...it was always a two way street and even that...ELVIS KNEW!
Red and Sonny were the best ones out of the bunch. There's only a few books worth reading and they are red and sonny's book and also june's and priscilla's. I've met all these guys. I've hung out with them. It's Joe Esposito who is the devil. Okay? Thank you. Elvis wanted to get rid of them, they hung on too long as a meal ticket. The King is not buried in the meditation garden. FYI I know. Black Piano. More 2 it than meets the eye. I feel bad2
I have part of this collection, I really enjoyed it, I go back and forth over these guys, much like Elvis did I am sure, I don't like how some of them did Elvis but from interviews like this I can see that they really did care for him, just wish one of them had got through and helped him if he really did have a problem.
It's a shame that Elvis, such a gifted, talented man, surrounded by sooo many people, Memphis Mafia and all, did not have ONE person who could stop him from his destructive behavior. 42 years old, what a shame. He had so much more to give us. RIP Elvis.
This documentary about the boys around E. is very, very good. Should be seen by everyone. I think it shows their true feelings and engagement for Elvis! I think it contains 4-6 hours!
Very Interesting video! I can feel the pain of this Man Red, Sonny, Marty, Lamar and Billy! They where the only one who has been that close to Elvis! I Dont know if they read this comment from me! But If they do! I will say to them You have stiil The Wonderful Memories of your Friend
At the end of the day the Bastards sold him out!! NONE of those guys have ever held a steady job since he died. Maybe RED. Diamond Joe Esposito Loved Elvis too but he NEVER sold him out!! epmelodygirl 2 years ago 4
There's a very good reason that the historical record of E's iconic career indelibly includes an extremely loving, mutually reciprocal, relationship with his mother - unlike any other superstar then or today. Because it was true.
elvisworldwide 2 years ago
It has been printed widely that Elvis and Gladys had a secret language , interpreted as "Baby Talk", but with Vernon hitting Gladys as was known to happen, maybe just maybe when Gladys said on the phone to Elvis GooGoo BooBoo, I wonder if it really meant Vernon is winding up to hit me again, ring him and defuse him! This could possibly be the real secret to the baby talk. Its worth pondering on.
DamiFray 2 years ago

Elvis Anita Wood who didn't leave GL until 8/62, & affairs with leading ladies like Juliet Prowse, Tuesday Weld, Joan Blackman Anne Helm, etc.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 2
Priscilla dated boys in high school. I feel they were apart so long that they developed an idealized love that couldn't stand up to reality. Ann Margret said when she & Elvis met, they both knew what was going to happen because a current of electricity shot through them that became a "force" they couldn't control, & they fell in love. Elvis even went to Ann in 67 before he announced Pris pregnancy to tell her how he still felt & tried to get her back after his separation in 72.

Priscilla cute...Ann Margret...GORGEOUS!
gowestward1 2 years ago 8
They were both beautiful and I think Elvis had a love for them both, but it was different. As I said I think with Priscilla it was idealized & became more like family love, and he was IN love with Ann. Priscilla leaving Dec 30, 71 did NOT kill Elvis almost 6 yrs later!

Look these boys are telling the truth. I'm glad to hear their side about what happened. It was really sad. They were under a lot of preasure trying to hold someone up that just could not take care of himself anymore. Really sad what these guys went thru. They lost their best friend.
gmajorspresents 2 years ago 2
It's hard to believe these so called friends and even a cousin could betray Elvis like they did in their book.
This really hurt Elvis inside.
If they really loved him they wouldn't have told lies about him like they did. I'm sure they are sorry now but you can't take it back once it's done.
Yes he had an addiction blame the Vegas doctors, not Elvis ! He was only human, it happens all the time. The irresponsible doctors killed him !!!
Doctors and dentists know what drugs not to mix !!!!

These guys truly loved him! they had all the "perks" but all the bullshit from the col. and everything else! but these memories these guys share.
depaolajr 2 years ago 5
I am rereading their book right now and I find it so funny in places (only cuz of the way they tell the stories) - but I TRULY believe these guys loved Elvis. Telling somebody the truth is not betraying them. People endulging Elvis was what eventually hurt Elvis. And these guys knew it. And I believe they loved him.

It's funny.
Red and Sonny got a lot more heat for their book than did Marty, Lamar and Billy.
But I thought their book was much harsher and more tell-all than Sony and Red's.

It's not funny.
They should all get down on their knees and ask for God's forgiveness for all the lies and all the grief they put Elvis through !!
He never deserved what they did to him !!

I love Sonny's grin when he says "She had every right to be!" referring to Priscilla being intimidated by Elvis's relationship with Ann Margret. Priscilla and Elvis were not married or formally committed at the time, and had actually only seen each other a total of 4 or 5 weeks, on two visits in 62, in the 3 yrs after Elvis left Germany in 3/60 and she moved in 3/63.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 5
Ann Margret was a very important love for Elvis. She said in her book that when they met they both knew what was going to happen because an electrical current shot through them that would become a "force" they couldn't control. What kept them apart is promises Elvis had to make before Priscilla moved to Graceland just a few months before in 3/63 at almost 18. Ann just says "Elvis had promises to keep." The affair lasted a yr, and Elvis tried to get Ann back after his separation in 72.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 23
After listening to Ann's interview again, she says the affair lasted over a year. Everything I have said is the truth taken from Guralnik's Careless Love, Elvis: Day by Day that gives exact dates & documentation. Plus Ann Margret: My story & an interview that on YT "Ann Margret Talks About Elvis" where she says great things about Elvis In contrast, Priscilla makes him look terrible in her movie in particular. I think these guys cared about Elvis--including Red and Sonny.

whats hard for people to understand about our heros is they are human beings just like us. yes they have a special talent. and its hard to imagine that they make mistakes just like we do in everyday normal life. elvis was and will always be one of the greatest artist of all time. and we all wish we could have been so lucky to get that close to them on a personal side to say hey. i knew him. whats bad is stars are judged so much harder in life than me and you could ever imagine. god bless .,
39tommyboy 2 years ago 18
Blame blame blame.... Elvis wasn't blind or stupid, and he chose to employ these men as part of his entourage/crew. Hell, they ADDED to the Elvis mystique! So why do people bash them as "hangers on" and criticize them for their insights into his life when we're all dying to hear what they have to say??? What impresses me is how loyal everyone is to his memory.
Elvis died of EXCESS, plain and simple.

I think Elvis' situation was so unique and it was like building blocks--one thing led to another and another until it ended badly for them all.
char4him99 2 years ago 3
I think they wrote the book to try and HELP Elvis. They wanted him to see what he couldn't see. They didn't WANT to hurt him. But sometimes you have to stop endulging people (as they had all done) and hold the person accountable. Unfortunately, it was too late. But I believe these guys loved and still love Elvis. I'm rereading their book (read it years ago) and I haven't read one word that makes me think they are being mean spirited.

don't think anyone in elvis' entourage really loved him.His so called buddies liked him and enjoyed the ride,as for his wife, there are so many rumours you don't know where to look. But from what I read, heard and had the chance to meet many people who knew him,Elvis could be a pretty complicated person to be around. Its true that without priscilla, graceland might have been sold or worst.I guess its best to just enjoy his music and leave behind the negativity for it just helps tarnish the good time

Elvis was "broken" because the truth came out. He was a doctor-shopping drug addict, all of the "Memphis Mafia" have admitted it by now, and the only ones who don't believe it don't *want* to hear the truth. Stick your heads in the sand.
elviswasSTRUNGOUT 2 years ago
I noticed that you have an interview by the great John Lennon. The same John Lennon who idolized Elvis in the 50's - the same John Lennon who met Elvis in the 60's and adored him - the same John Lennon who was a drug addict - the same John Lennon who famously wore a lapel pin proclaiming "Before Elvis, there was nothing."
You are a small-minded, hateful hypocrite. We look forward to your continued intellectual musings.
