  • Peter Eastgate is a respectable guy.

  • Who are you talking to dumbass, shandas853 doesn't even excist

  • I think Eastgate and Dwan played it fine. On the river Eastgate's only getting value from are 6X and there's only one other six in the deck, he's behind straights/FH/etc and he can't call a 3bet on the river allowing Tom to bluff. The fact that Dwan had a six (and no FH) in this particular hand makes it seem like he missed an "obvious" raise but against Tom's calling/raising range from raising the turn or river he's not doing so well. Also it adds deception which is a big part of HSP.

  • It's funny how many "poker experts" are commenting here. Ho ho ho... LMAO...

  • lol yea

  • it was a 4 way pot and it's possible that dwan flop a set turn a boat...

he bets 54k on river and a raise on river will means u raise to ~at least 120k and peter is not putting dwan on a 6 either... so if peter raises and dwan calls peter cant feel good about it cuz it's hard to imagine dwan call a river raise with like say.. Ad Kd..

raising on the turn might also means a check/fold on river from dwan and i think eastgate won almost the max in this hand by letting dwan bet big

  • Eastgate missed massive value on the turn by not raising. If anything he should for protection against the pair/draw hands that Tom might be holding. Even gets value from 7s-9s which could also be there. Against someone as loose as TD is then, if he ships the turn you just call it off, still with outs. But as I said, Eastgate missed MASSIVE value on the turn. If he's not raising the turn he shouldn't raise the river. If he raises the turn he plays for stacks.

  • every draw has missed on this board. the fact that eastgate didn't raise on the turn also makes tom think he cant have a 6 unless hes trapping. because raising the 6 on the turn would happen most the time because of how drawy the board is.

this is a clear raise on the river, tom calls light and there's no reason for eastgate to have a 6, or a boat or flopped straight-because all of the above are very unlikely.

If you want a high winrate you have to be capable of making thin raises like this.

  • there is also a possibility u get shoved on in the river and put in a tough spot for 400k

  • i dont understand a raise from eastgate .. the only weaker hands that call him are the case 6 (unlikely, and possible full houses) and AA.

  • If eastgate raises his is only representing A6, KK and maybe 55, 33 but most of those hands don't make a whole lot of sense because peter didn't raise on the flop or turn. I think dwan really would call a bet here as it looks like missed diamonds alot.

  • I would never raise, specially against Dwan, he could be playing 6-5 suited as he played his 7-6, or even worst 4-2 suited, there is no way to know it.

  • if eastgate puts in a raise its hard for durrr to call, but its really hard to 3- bet durr cuz he has a full house like 90% of the time on TV poker

  • Why are you talking about Doyle Brunson, this is Dwan vs Eastgate

  • the face of tom dwan :D...epic...

    ^_^

  • Definitely the right play to just call on river by Eastgate, simply because he has either ran into either a monster and could be 3 bet if he raised, or hes against a bluff in which he would not make any more money by raising. The fact that Dwan such a big hand below Eastgate's was very improbable.

  • And just about one more thing "he can't afford to have a gambling problem", no one can afford to gamble all their money away but man... seriously, Doyle is insanely rich.. yesterday on twitter he bought him, his wife, and son all escalades because he got bummed by a big loss.

Althought, I do get your standpoint and respect your opinion I must say once again, he's just not the player he used to be. When he mixed his game up is when he was winning. Now he plays a hand every other hour.

  • You got a point there. But lets face it, Doyle is an old man playing poker. I may be wrong by saying that playing premium hands is the only way to win in a cash game. Of course you can win with a 7 2 and a good bluff. But you are going to need a lot more concentration and a lot more estamina. Sadly, Doyle just cannot play as much hands as he once did. And of course playing premium hands only and not try to bluff that much is not a bad thing for a 76 year old person.

  • Word. That's very true-- he is getting older. I actually picked up a book by Doyle today called: Poker Wisdom. It used to be called "According to Doyle" but it's a reprint. It's not really about strategy or anything-- he covers that in "The Super System", in this book he just tells stories relative to poker and you can since he's a truly good person from the tales he tells. You should pick it up. Read the whole thing today at Barnes & Nobles. He's a good guy/player. No doubt. Well said above.

  • i like now Daniel really pointed out Tom's reaction... cuz he completely feels the pain or what happened. As Gabe said, Tom probably put him on 8s or 9s

  • lol at dwan's reaction

  • yea, i wanna see the faces he makes playing online LMAO

  • Is it just me or does Brunson only play when he has premo hands? He barely plays at all in any of these torunaments man. And he only plays Ace - High Card

  • do u really think that he won 1 bracelets just playing premium hands???

  • I didn't insinuate that he has played nothing but premium hands his whole life or anything. If that were true he wouldn't be associated with his lucky hand "10, 2 - off-suit", in which he won two times with.

However, if you watch all of the recent stuff in the last years and especially in high stakes he only plays with AK, AJ, AQ, ect....

It's the truth man. No he didn't play like this his whole life but as of the recent years... he only plays premium hands. I watch him ALOT. He even said it.

  • Yes, but cash game and tournaments are totally different thing. In cash games blinds are not going up so you can fold bad cards and wait for good cards, but in tournaments blinds are rising, so you basically have to play "bad cards" also.

So as you see there is difference between cash game and tournaments, and HSP is cash game, so when you watch HSP you don't see him playing bad cards.

  • Dude. I've been playing poker forever. I don't need some person on youtube (you) to tell me what the difference is in a cash game and tournament. I know I play both all the time online and in real life.

I rarely see Brunson play anything but premium hands in either. Send me links where he plays a ton of low-trash hands. You want find him play anything but quality. Like I said bring the proof, prove me wrong!

  • Ok man, you are right. But you gotta think this. Doyle Brunson is a poker professional. He lives, he eats and he pays the rent with the money earned in poker games. Which means this: Doyle Brunson is there for the money, to win money. Not to have fun and to make friends, thats why he barely talks also. The only way to assure on making money is by playing premium hands. Thats it. Also, obviously he is not playing on tv to prove the world he is a good player cause he has done it all.

  • On the other hand, those young players are there to make the world to see how "good" they are. Like Jamie Gold did. He had the need to make everyone think he wasnt that bad playing cards. Finally, Doyle has proven that he is not quite a gambler. He couldnt afford the risk to have a gambling problem. Poker is about intelligence and psychology not about gambling.

  • He doesn't really have to worry about doing good anymore man. As far as paying rent-- his rent's paid in total he's filthy rich.

Playing premium hands is NOT the only way to win money. And if you only play the same cards, everyone knows what you are playing. He NEVER mixes his game up at all. That's all I'm saying.

He has gambled in the past and does make some crazy calls. Going all in (500k) with Ace King off-suit. Many people have said it. He's not playing his A game. Predictable as hell!

  • Also -- I want to state I am a Doyle fan. He's a poker legend. If you watch poker you know that winners also play the good hands of course, but they also limp in and raise on the button, ect... with trash and low suited connectors ect...

As far as playing premium hands is the only way to win man that's just the most incorrect statement ever. I've seen AK beat AA many times I've seen 7-2 make AA fold on bluffs. There are many ways to win. Doyle has become predictable and isn't that great now!

  • Bit of a dumb statement as they only show about a third of the hands that get played.

  • you gotta be able to play a good hand. It's not all about luck...

  • Is durrr really gay?

  • Well, he wears the pink elephant hat, and he once went to the Pink Hippo in Newquay....

  • According to Durrrr, no.

  • I like it when Dwan wears the Pink Elephant hat

  • wooooow im glad someone could put that little egotistic faggot in his place

  • ALLOWED ALLOWED ALLOWED ALLOWED not aloud fucking idiots

  • tom dwan is lucky as shit

  • yeah he's lucky. he's lucky that he has consistently won online for years making millions in the process. it was all luck. after all, poker is a game of luck

    give me a fucking break.

  • I can't blame Eastgate either.. He isnt doing anything crazy or trying to impress anyone with a crazy play or an insane bluff... I don't see whats wrong with non wreckless poker, when I play tight I NEVER get busted out.. Ever.... Yeah YOU can see Durr's cards but Eastgate can't.. Poker seems so easy when you watch it on TV...

  • Eh, I think Eastgate plays too tight at these cash games -- he's afraid to lose the money he won at the WSOP, LOL

  • Yeah hes nothing special, he can only live off his WSOP fame for so long.

  • He's 1000x better than the donks who won the two main events before him. Sure, he's -EV playing in cash games against the best players in the world, but so are 99.999% of poker players out there.

  • Daniel is jokes

  • dwan the real rainman...so funny when he move his head back and forward all the time.....

  • hes aloud to move his head up and down....let him be who he is...? idiot.

  • yep offcourse hes aloud to move his head but its still funny to see....and i have no problem whit that, just writed that he looked like rainman...so you seem to be the guy who have problems idiot, defend a guy who not need to be defend, you probely watch him on high stakes and trying to lick youre balls at the same time morron

  • yesssssssssss :) it pisses me off i cnt reach my balls with my tounge

  • I love Eastgate :D

  • by that i mean He does play very good but he forgets against who he plays, It should of been a ALL in move there against Durr.

  • show's how fish the eastgate is. heh. congrats with 9mill though.

  • lol. Raising that river has horrible equity. Tom's calling range consists of 6x, straights, and boats. He probably folds out some 6xs, too. He just valuetowns himself against stronger hands.

Eastgate probably should've raised the turn, however. Even that said, he was able to get an extra pot bet on the river by Dwan while keeping Dwan's range fairly wide.

  • i don't blame eastgate for not raising the river. Tom played from the blinds so he could have anything, like 4-7, 5-6, k-k, 5-5, 3-3. Tom made a pot size bet on the river on a paired board after a scare card came out. Eastgate knows that tom is not betting a pair of jacks or queen, so either tom is betting a strong hand, or buffing with a missed flush or straight draw.

  • Good to see Dwan get brought back to reality by losing a huge pot playing suited rags.

  • how did "durrr" get his nickname? just curious.

  • it's his online poker screen name. Apparently he chose Durrr to tick people off, because when you get bluffed or bad beaten by a player named "durrr" it's more likely to tilt you, cos it's such an annoying name. which is good for Tom Dwan. That's the origin, supposedly.

  • No it stands for dumb, ugly, river, rat.... Look it up..

  • yeah if you got on Full Tilt Poker and go to the high stake Omaha games, you'll see him on there.

  • This was a very exciting group to watch, lots of big pots and crazy action. Really enjoying season 5 so far...BTW 3:03 was hilarious.

  • yea and he doesnt claim world class poker skils either. he won wsop buy playing solid and getting hit well. thats all it takes.

  • im sorry but eastgate just got lucky at the wsop, hes a good above average player, you see the difference in skill level when he plays with the rest of the pro,s they make him look poor when hes actually a pretty decent player. Thats the difference between world class and just good, but at least he's won the WSOP.

  • "im sorry but eastgate just got lucky at the wsop,"

anybody who wins the ME gets very lucky

"hes a good above average player"

He is a very good player (he is and was before the wsop a pro) and a consistent winner a 25/50NL.

" you see the difference in skill level when he plays with the rest of the pro,s they make him look poor "

Finally I agree w/ something. He is scared money in that game and far inferior to dwan, ivey, and barry. mostly b/c he is not used to sitting w/ 500k

  • yea but you have to start somewhere..

  • I would just prefer it to be at a table that does not have tom dwan, phil ivey, phil galfond, or patrick antonius

  • ive got a huge tell on Durr!! Im going to vegas to bust that chump!

  • same here, when he raises a hand he could have anything lol

  • sssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • why would eastgate raise the river. dwan called from the blinds. he could very easily have a hand like 56 or 36. they are very much in dwan's range. dwan led 3 times in a row, safe call.

  • It seemed like the other players didn't respect Peter Eastgate's game as much as they probably should have. He clearly isn't just a "Jamie Gold" type of world champion. He played these few episodes extremely well.

  • like ive said further up, hes good but hes not a top 16 player, whether it be gaming, football, boxing, golf, poker or whatever

  • "i caaaaalll"

    gabe is the best

  • @quartermexicano - Gabe is great, but even better when he has AJ as his straight man. I missed the back and forth for season 6. If GSN can't get AJ back (I don't know the story), they need another straight man.

  • Comment removed

  • gabe kaplan makes fun of him at 1:49, its pretty hilarious

  • hahaha he looks well on put the cards

  • Coming to a GSN channel near you, Dwan gets AA cracked on an all-in, I fucking love it!!!

  • you love when people get thier money in with the best of it and lose or just tom dwan?...you hate people out playing you all the time so you happy at other people misfortune too...maybe you should learn some class like barry did when he cracked those aces and just be quite!!!

  • No, I just hate Dwan...but you can go suck it...have a nice day, dickey!

  • bigmikeyy classy comments...from a classy person...continue to hate people more succsessful than you and i can see why your so angry...

  • Well, if I MUST hate people more successful than me...I guess that means, I LOVE YOU MAN!!!

  • ur funny...you dream you were half the poker player i am...you actually dream just to break even huh?

  • lmao i caalll!!

  • dwan folds* thats what i meant

  • Tom Dwan is afraid of Daniel Negreanu...everytime when Daniel is in the hand Dwan holds all the time.

  • daniel has pretty much been tilting through most of season 5.

  • daniel, ivey, antonious, are all to be feared

  • daniel negreanu i would assume your talking about has loss over 1 million playing high stake poker...lost close to 1/2 a million in season 5 alone. he has called off alot of money ...and when he hit a hand he gets noone to pay him off...i don't think anyone at the table is overly fearful of him...

  • lol at all of you with your "dwan plays like shit...looks like a shaved chimp blah blah blah" Jealous much? This guy is one of the best players in the world, not many people could play like 50% of hands and turn a profit, let alone make millions like durrr. Respect him for who he is, don't just insult him for not being Phil Hellmuth..

  • Amen to that

    Phil Hellmuth is a nit

  • wait a minute. I thought daniel went bankrupt.

  • Where did this Tom Dwan turd come from ? He plays like shit and he looks more like a shaved chimp than a poker pro. The producers must be desparate.. where are the Hellmuths etc ?

  • Tom Dwan is Durrrr on most sites including FT. He is a sick high stakes cash game player who started online. Same for Ilari Sahamies who is Ziigmund on FT.

The only player I really miss is Sammy. I'm sure he will be on this season at some point though.

  • Plays like shit? You utter, utter moron!!! He plays way higher stakes online than Hellmuth and would crush him playing cash games. In fact he challenged him to play a series of Heads Up matches for $100k a game and Hellmuth pussied out. Dwan took about $6m profit from cash games in '08. You clearly know 2/5 of fuck all mate.

  • This heads Up was a very sick hand man, tom dwan played the hand badly by calling the huge reraise and kicked hellmuth Aces out with tens so. Nonetheless he's good but i don't like loose players..

  • tom dwan is one of the best cash game players in the world...top 5 probably...

  • LOL :D good comment my thoughts exactly ! He looks like a litle fag and his voice is iven more gay !

  • lol @ "plays like shit"

  • how many different cocks has tom dwan had in his ass?

  • TOM DWAN GOT A FACE I WANNA PUNCH SOOOO BAD ......

    fukking milk drinker

  • LOLOLOL @ 2:03 the commentator's hahahahhah ahaha aha haah

  • this sets up ep2 hand for durrrr... Eastgate's 4 2o v. Greenstein's A A v. Dwan's QTs. Look for it during replay if you havent seen it yet.

  • they showed it in reverse order...day 3 first, so the 42 hand actually happened first

  • good point... was sure he would fold when he started takin time because of this hand!

  • yea, i wanted to vomit when dwan raised on flop with the 10's, but he proved me wrong on the turn. he knew where eveyrone stood and what they'd be willing to risk. (in particular eastgate's 500k, with kicker issues). can't argue w/his results.

  • Yeah, that play really impressed me with Tom Dwan. He knew Eastgate had the best hand , but also knew it was a family pot and someone could've easily made a boat, and it was worth a bluff because the pot was so big.

  • I'm referring to the hand when Barry Greenstein had AA UTG and raised and everyone called.

  • that was a sick hand indeed. If you're interested there are some great posts about it on the pokerroad[dot]com site. Certainly Barry Greenstein's audio blog "tips from the bear" is worth listening too, but there are some good posts about the hand in their "red pro" forum also (only known pros can post).

  • theres nothing to comment on, dwans range is that wide, eastgate is almost right to get a lot of the chips in with trips top kicker, almost everytime against dwan. he lost equity by playing too tightly and not raising his river bet 40 50k

  • So Ziigmund. Talk your shit now. David and Dwan are in front of you. Let's you talk your shit to their face!!

  • Ahahahahaaa!!! Durrrr's face says like "WTF??"

  • I CALL...?

  • he said if i raised it, would you call?

  • lmao any1 can translate what eastgate said in the end ?

  • hahaha negreanu

    always makes me laugh

    LOOK AT HIS FACE! LOL

  • maybe i could raise it on the the turn ...then on the river just call

  • thjere was a good chance or dwan holding pocket `pair and hitted a fullhouse. eastgate wanted to keep the pot small because of that i woudda played that hand exactly like he did.

  • I agree if eastgate had the best hand, he would win a decent pot and if he lost he would'nt be committed. If he raise and durr had the boat he would be f cked. I mean if you raise on the turn or river and durr came over the top, then what are you going to do?

  • yeah, Eastgate, could have been afraid of the boat and the pot was already huge already.

  • Yes, it was priceless!

  • wow, do we get to see the the hole show after it shows on gsn on youtube ?

  • Why didn't Durr bet the river?

  • he did bet the river?

  • lol

  • How was that a bad beat? The worst hand lost in the end and was always behind...

  • Arguably a cooler, would have been a better name for it.

  • Icegate is in the house ! Denmark for the win !

  • durrrr likes the backdoor action

  • cant believe he didn't raise dwan on the end

  • scared of the straight I'd say? =/ ...

  • id tell him hes a bytch then slap him like a bytch an he wouldnt say shit apart from run home cryin his eyes out to mummy. therefore , i ''would say it in his face'' and im sure a thousand others would aswell

  • u just another jealous idiot who is mad about someone who makes more money in 2hands than u make in your lifetime. u never spoke a word with durrr and u say such things.

  • LOLZ

  • no homo but dwans face pisses me off

  • And his voice

  • durrr is gay

  • he's not just gay. he's super duper fabulous gay.

if he was in southpark hed be big gay al.

  • Durrrs face was priceless :-D

  • OWNED!

  • I think Dwan is a girl... but she can play poker!

  • AHAHAHAHHAHHAA..

your comment was hilarious man.. lol!
