that 'irrelevant' stuff is quite important to be a good musician; it allows you to write better peices and to better fit your playing in with other musicians.

Unless you JUST want to be an instrumentalist learn whatever you can aswell as just how to play the songs; but it does help when you get to more complex works

This is just a tutorial, I recorded it maybe a few days after i learned the song... And really this is just the riff of the song... Now I usually play it with chords and the riff, so that u can actually jam to it... its a lil different but u can still recognize the song... I'll post when i get some time, don't trip...

Its not QUITE that simplE :P. i just got me an accoustic... and its taken me 20 mins to get the first 2 notes 100% :P.. well theyr about 60 to be honest.. its real good fun.. u should get 1.. but be prepared to LEARN!

What about the chords? It's Em, D, C#dim, Bm. It's basically a iv, III, ii*, i in the key of B minor with the melody notes in between.
