Henry told that he loved Jane but I think that he didn't appreciated her. When he should choose between her life and life the child he had chosen a life of the child I understand him child was him welcome son but Jane could give birth to Henry son after a while. All the same Anne's daughter become Great Queen
i liked jane seymour because of her graceful nature but also on how she tried to get henry to forgive those who rose in protest even though she failed. but also i REALLY like the fact she went to lengths to include henry's daughters in his lie along with that of her son unlike anne who just went total bitch mode and pitted mary low next to elizabeth's magnificence.
@Tekirai Jane didn't have to go to total bitch mode, her marriage to Henry was never disputed like Anne's was, both previous wives were dead by the time they married. Hence, her children by Henry could never be considered bastards, and lose their standing in the line of succession like Elizabeth could. Anne's actions towards Mary must be seen in light of this. Also, some historians now suggest Jane was not just the innocent wife, but also calculating, in a disguised manner. We'll never know...
@ladythalia hmmm interesting.....its too bad we cant talk to them to learn more if jane was calculating then she has my respect even more *just hope she calculate for good things >,>* plus there are some things i wanna tell henry viii that are none too nice nor lady like
@Tekirai Well, some historians believes that Jane played a role in Anne's death. She refused to become a mistress, she wanted marriage, just as Anne did. She made this demand while Anne was inprisoned in the Tower, and it is thought that Jane knew this would mean Anne would have to be executed, because Henry could not risk another divorce. She got engaged to Henry the day after Anne's execution and married 11 days later. She was seen happy/partying the day after Anne's death. IMO, not very pious
@ladythalia Really? I mean, I'm sure she wanted marriage (like Anne did before her). But pushing Henry to execute Anne? I think we can all agree that Henry was pretty sick of "meddling women". Had she tried to do any finagling, I think Henry would probably have told her not to meddle (as he did to her during the pilgrimage of grace).
And I'd say the quick engagement is a bad reflection on Henry, not Jane. Where did you get your sources for Jane partying? I'd like to read them over, if I may.
@Stargazer19 These accounts were among my reading material when I was a history major, I cannot recall which book. I suggest you go consult your library, they should be able to find the the eye witness accounts. You might also want to read the modern historians Eric Ives, Agnes Strickland and David Starkey. They have all claimed to find ample proof regarding her character. Eyewitness; ambassador Chapuys described her as "rather proud and haughty”, not as the meek caricature we know today.
@ladythalia Mmmm....didn't Chapuys also say that Anne Boleyn celebrated and paraded around in yellow when Katherine died?
Oh and I dug out my Starkey book and found the quote, which in it's entirety was "it is said that in private she is rather proud and haughty." We know that alot of what Chapuys claimed as fact was slanted by severe bias, and in this case he's admitting that it is second hand information.
People are cruel to Jane Seymour, I think she was a better woman than Anne Boleyn in terms of a loving and nurturing nature but certainly not in greatness, I think Jane deserves more credit than she has, shame on everyone who talks down about her.
@Murdoc2Dbabe I agree. She got me with her kindness to Mary and Elizabeth. She could have just focused on her child but she did that and made the effort to show concern for both girls. I really like Anne Boleyn but it's disappointing she couldn't do the same.
I've noticed the die hard Anne Boleyn fans go into attack mode on petty high school drama blaming Jane for the downfall not even thinking about Anne's many powerful male enemies. Overall the ONLY one at fault.....
@bubblinbrownsugar616 "His Royal Fat Ass".....I just about died when I read that. LOL!
And I totally agree with what you're saying. It seems like every time I watch a tudor vid there is bashing of one wife or another. They should *all* be respected for having to put up with a man like Henry.
the boleyn was the manifestation of free mind...they protected artists like holbein, musicians, poets...people always speak about their ambitions but what about the Seymour! jane was the maid of the 2 first queens! but too much invisible to be interesting by the king. Finally, the family arrived to put her into the nose 's king. catherin was dead. ...it was not to difficult for them to betrayed queen ann. I hate the seymour's family.
I honestly don't like Jane very much XD and I think Henry VIII only "loved" her because she gave him an heir, I disagree about her being fair I found her really ugly :S, it's a great video though I really like your vids =)

Sluts can become very expensive. Just ask Henry. (Ouija board on standby.)
Jane wasn't a slut at all. But her family were pimps.
Poor Jane.
But how willing was she? She died just after the birth. But she must have had plans.

Jane was just a belly for Henri. And did perfectly the job. After Ann's character, it was a moment of calm with her. not more.

When I say Jane is fair, I mean she was very pale.. I agree that she does appear quite plain in her paintings.
