I noticed that in one of your videos you had the istats menu in your tool bar up top? I have it too and i was jw how to take it COMPLETELY off I deleted the "application" but it's still there and idk how to get completely rid of it any thoughts?
They do it like that for people seeking to upgrade from an older version of iLife. And if you do a clean install of Mac OS X you need to install the iLife Apps.
@capnfrankly That is for people who got a macbook before that version of iLife came out so that you can upgrade to it. eg if you had iLife 08 and wanted iLife 09
@TrueTechGeek For me it was, but it really depends on what kinda of computer user you are. Like my Mom is the type who uses the computer for the internet so we got her a netbook but I like to create games and stuff so I got a mac.
@truetechgeek of course i think macs are worth it! for the making music, they are perfect since they come with garageband and you an purchase logic if you are really serious
Bad answer. Macs DO have viruses, but they are not as many in numbers as Windows. Macs have a smaller market share than Windows so hackers don't even bother with them. Most corporations use Windows on their servers and it makes hackers more tempted to make viruses and other malware for that particular platform. Trust me if hackers had the time and reasons to focus on Macs, they'd be as dead as Windows. No system is safe.
True no system is safe. But Macs are the safest. Because Apple release updates every few months. Unlikely to get any viruses since Apple will delete them in the updates.

Ok. I like making music, and I like cool programs. Not into gaming though.
TrueTechGeek 2 years ago
Macs have some great software for making music. U should go to an Apple store or best buy just to play around with one.
Anyway, what kinda of music do you make?

Does a mac require virus protection? Sorry for the noob question, =)
Summer0234 2 years ago
NO! Macs are virus free! Macs are built from UNIX. In 2006, there was 114,000 known viruses for WIndows PCs, but not Macs.

no. no system requries it. But windows gets a lot more viruses then mac. For a mac, if you want to use one then use it.

@TheAppleGeniuses the most Macs to get a virus in a year was 13. PC's, over 100,000
