Great Video and love the chat in the background, as for Chinese lanterns they tend not to last too long I tried one out to discount them from the sightings over London and no way could they do that so high up in the atmosphere as the air gets thinner they go out, or as they seem to collide then they would just burn up. Not sure what they are but great shots.

i really cant argue with that, if u say where there then fair play, as ive neva seen paper lanterns before i cant argue. however, have u looked at my other video of this incident? i would have thought somthing made out of paper would blow in the wind and they would all follow the same path, in my other video, two cross paths, suggesting, perhaps it wasnt just the wind moving them?

There has been a rash of these sighting all over the UK and yes, most of them are indeed paper lanterns released during garden parties. Expect to see more of these as it looks like the paper lanterns have caught on with many night parties.

very good idea never thought of that, only thing is they seemed very high and much larger than paper lanterns, they also crossed the sky way to quick for paper lanters, and diserpeard into high cloud on the horizen. thanks for your comment- oli
