The one nurse was a bitch to the Asian girl! lol I am not a fan of this show. It is too much like ER without good actors! Plus, it makes it out like all patients and their families are idiots! They also say how parents just know that their child is sick! My daughter has been hospitalized for 6 months now and I know everything about her medical problems, the medication she takes, the procedures that they do, all of it! I am not a med student or a nurse!

Your average person doesn't know a ton about medicine and anatomy, but they usually know more than the doctors realize. Most people know what an echocardiogram is....

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I find this show offensive. Other allied health professionals are treated no better. Perhaps to make the so called "doctors" look heroic they have to make everyone else appear to be either incompetent or just plain foolish. While I realize the show can not be 100% realistic it should at least make some attempt to portray the other health care professionals in a positive or at least more realistic light.

They are real stories, acted out by the real doctors who "solved" the cases (along with other actors).

So yeah, the stories are real, doctors are real, but this is a dramatization.

Some of them are real doctors. When it takes them aside and they talk alone, it'll show their name and usually their degree by it.

I love this show. Does anyone know the episode where in one case its about this latino couple where the husband keeps on having spasms and they are trying to figure out why that keeps happening and then there is another docter where he is fairly new and there is this 5 year old girl who is sick, but they dont know why and they suspect that its the parents have HIV? I watched the beginning of this episode but never finished it.

in the case with the latino couple the husband is diagnosed with stiff-man syndrome. previously, they thought he had tetanus because according to them it presented with similiar symptoms.

anti-biotics and he was fine.

the five year old girl is diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis, or something like that. they thought brain cancer. the attending noticed a spot that looked like a birth mark but was a sign of the disease which glowed under uv light.

forgot the treatment but she was fine.
