Dickens was talking about fog. If he was living today , he would have been talking about flying mud everywhere, at least at every section that goverment have some sort of power.
Good stuff. I found Professor F. W. Maitland's book very good to read...
- "Equity, also the forms of action at common law" (two courses of lectures)
Check it out. Amazing book on common law and on equity and trusts.
For those interested in law, also read Sir William Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England.
Both are available online for free. The first is on archive org (search the book name above in quotes) and the second on The Avalon Project at Yale Law School's website.
Mishamichalnichael - Tu che, tu che my friend. I wholly concur with everything you you say. For too long I was looking at law in black and white, Alastair gives it a stupendous injection of colour.
the web site is usefull not for the sake of simplicity and dumbing things down but for opening your eyes up that have been permenantly shut by incompetent lecturers more concerned with publishing research than educating the masses. I'm glad I had the opportunity to spot this man's work as it has completely altered my perspective on the study of law, or maybe I am one of many who has not got access to decent university tuition.
I must say, this guy is a legend! I had to go through the extra effort of signing up for an account with you tube to pay this man tribute. On the verge of losing complete intrest in the study of law i came upon one of many of his articles on the concept of trusts in corporate law and contemporary application.

has made me realise even more so the extent of disparity between red brick university education and the polytechnic equivlnt.
