man, this game is so broken when you go for the top tiers in this game. (Gil, Lancer, Rin, Kotomine) But man, they're dropping combos like crazy. I remember the days when this game was popular when Lancer/Saber/Rin/Gil/etc. will OHKO a char from the foe having 100% health at beginning of the round.

This game is difficult. I dont play alot of fighting games, so im no expert, but i found the combos in this game ridiculously difficult to pull off. They are split second tight on the inputs, and just mastering a single set of combo for one character took my ages... these players are very very skilled. ESPECIALLY those whom know how to pull off more than one set combo efficiently.

this game looks all right but what's with the names; assassin, archer, lancer, caster? was there any real significance to the names besides their obvious fighting style or we're the developers just lazy?

Those characters are actually famed Heroic Spirits summoned into those classes, and take the name of those classes to hide their true names (And, in turn, hide their strengths and weaknesses). For example, if Achilles was summoned, he wouldn't want enemies to know his heel was his weak point.

@kiyoumi4649 i don't know it sounds kind of hoaky if you ask me for instance if achilles really was in this game and if the heel was a significant weak point i'd be kind of pointless cause its hard to get behind your opponent in here

@Rapthorne54 Check out Fate/Stay Night. The game is based off the Visual Novel (anime and manga adaptations as well). It will make more sense if you knew the story.

Different strokes for different folks. That being said, I am glad that the Japanese still play this game, now I'd like to see new Hokuto no Ken, or even Jojo gameplay.

@fataljulio well, its not 3d neither is SSF4. both are 2d-3d blended sprite. the gameplays for both are entirely 2d as it was before for sf2 and sf3 (this one is more of a Melty Blood styled gameplay) but the background elements are 3d for both game. so this and SSF4 both are in 2d fighters genre. 3d fighters are VF, Tekken, SC etc.
