@KlutzyGirl7 This IS clickertraining (you don't necessariliy need a clicker itself). I don't actively tame my mice, they just learn ist by watching the other mice. But this can take half a year and some will never get tame.
I have done quite a bit of agility with my mice, but they don't work for treats! I have tried everything, but all they will chase is my hand. Haha. Not so convienient with tricks though.
Those two look very different than our North American mice - they are larger, have much bigger ears and seem much smarter. Are they a special kind?
How do you tame your mice? I have only been able to truly tame a North American mouse by bottle feeding it from a pinky, a lot of people find our mice too skittish to really tame. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about taming them?
@CreekValleyCritters hi! acutally the two are normal fancy type and quite small, slightly above 20g (the show type mice here can have 80g!) and very agile compared to them. i think they trust me so much because from their point of view, they train me ("i trained my human to give me a treat every time i fetch the dumbbell"), for them, clickertraining is obedience training for their human! and being able to manipulate their environment increases their self-confidence and reduces stress and fear.
How did you get it to learn how to pick up the dumbbell in the first place?

@Blastintoimagination This was free-shaping and quite easy. Clickertraining-experienced mice usually learn this in just one session.
