Nice! This is quite inspiring cos I just started learning drums at school and I'm beginning to love it even though i never thought about it when I was younger. Now that i've done a bit I can really appreciate watching someone else play. Oh and Isley Brothers.. adore them! :)
@jettison27 Hey Thanks for the kind words. That is excellentthat you are strating the drums. It's never too late. You are still young and will be amazed at how much you will learn even the first year. I started when I was 13, took a few lessons then just continued on my own. Enjoy it and keep it fun...Nick
you all most got it just tighten up on the rolls, and get a little more lose and flow with it with some soul!! you got a lot better as the song went on. over all very good, good job!
@laketahoeron Hey thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the constructive criticism. I will take a look at it with your comments in mind. This is how we get better. Sometimes when I have just started playing a tune I get caught up a bit too much in the thinking department and it does take away from playing with feel. Thanks again....Nick
@angryredcom Richard, Thanks for checking it out and your kind comments. This Old Hear is a good call. I am headed home and I'll tell you what...I'll make it to my kit and do that drum cover for you. It is a great tune and a nice blast from the past for an old fart like me. I'll keep the groove on for ya. BTW your profile on your channel cracked me up.....Nick.
@karenmuenchen Thanks Karen...I knew you would like this song...it is a great tune...I am working on some other drum covers and I think you will like the songs. Hope to have at least 1 up this week. Worked on it yesterday. Next time I have a chance to do some drumming I should be ready to record it....you will have to wait.. ha ha ha ... Take It Easy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nick
Nice Nick., like your ride cymbal work...The Isleys., the band that Jimmy H played w/ early on, before disco ruined everything...back when cars had real v-8's and you didnt worry how much it cost to fillup, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
@Steeleydankid Thanks Colin. For guys like us we always had our roots in Rock and Roll. I can remember that 1973 was the last time I paid 25 cents for a gallon. You are right, gas was never a $ issue...fill'r up and cruise around for the night. That's right about Hendrix. Also, he lived with the Isley family from '63-'65. Ernie Isley taught JH how to play guit behind the back. Check Ernie out playing WTL. He sounds like Hendrix. Keep Rocking !!
