  • Beautiful Inspiring for all people! her voice is stunning and rings the words of truth.

Let us all put away our evil ways toward each other and be humble and bring our heads down to bow whatever Religion or god we believe in. Keep shining the light of god :)

  • i go to sleep with my ipod

  • good voice

  • very nice...i listen every nite

  • Mr Junta450 Please remember that Sikhism is great and it accepts people from everywhere with variations etc. That is why Darbar Sahib has 4 gates.

As long as it is bringing people towards Sikhism .. Gurbani its all good.

And we sould not critisise good. Let us welcome people and not critisize them. Here she is reciting Gurbani and we should just focus on that.

Lets open our hearts to everyone. Akal Takhat says :Anyone who respects Gurbani and believes in the teachings of 10 gurus is a sikh.

  • beautiful

  • I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.

that is very awesome i love this

  • 'I met with the Guru by great, good fortune. He is Unfathomable and Infinite.

Holding me by the hand he pulled me out of the world's sea of poison.

Through the Guru's Word, I was rid of recurring births and deaths.

I will not pass through the gate of pain (reincarnation) again.'

(Todi, M. 5 : Guru Granth Sahib jee)

  • by the way- janes calamity yes it is a traditional indian harmonium- very commonly used to support parts of the bani which are to be recited using music eg. anand sahib

  • i love the voice- excellent pronounciation too- hey folks did you notice the one standing by... is she wearing an invisible chuni? its ironic that she is not covering her head whilst bani is being recited. otherwise very uplifting - thank you for the vid.

  • Well, although I too would rather her head be covered, this is most likely not a Sikh event, but rather it's probably a kundalini yoga event. Again, even in kundalini yoga the head is kept covered while practicing, but it's not a yoga requirement, and the teachers don't usually force students to do so.

  • Snatam Kaur has an angelic voice! I love her a lot. Just I discovered her recently. I feel her words and music under my skin.

  • Can anybody tell me the name of the instrument she is playing? Is it a harmonium of some kind? I see she pumps some bellows.

  • Good guess.

  • Waheguru ji ka khalsa

    Waheguru ji ki Fateh

That is art to the ears

  • sufizm rules

  • Guru Bhajan came to the idea of practicing yoga in it's present universally available form as a divinely revealed way of attaining health and making the body strong for the Dharma. These are not contradictions, but appropriate teachings for a specific time and place.

  • even if one was to trust your distorted interpretation of Yoga, HOW DO YOU JUSTIFY CALLING mr.BHAJAN A 'GURU'? this is the most extreme expression of disrespect!

please be more critical of the propaganda the 3ho crew is spewing without any shame... they are not as innocent as they seem.

  • Everyone's intentions might not be the same, they might be different, especially the instructor, but as a student. I think its more than just connecting movement with each breath. Besides we all breath when we move(energy is inside all of us and those who haven't tried it contradict themselves because they don't realize that the gift of breathing gives everyone the equal opportunity to do yoga)

  • wow i love this and i always try to listen to it before i go to bed if the computer's free. her voice is so beautiful and soft...the best thing before falling asleep!!! it really de-stresses you at the end of the day...just the sounds! its amazing. Is there a JapJi Sahib by Snatam Kaur too??? i'd like to hear that in the mornings!! <3

  • This is wonderful.

On 30 August 2003 I was on an airplane on way to be put to sleep for surgery, and by me was a Sikh lady, so beautifully wonderful, older lady - so elegant they are, such speech of princes in the tone.

OK, so she told me that she was taught by her father in India long ago when she was a little girl his darling, that what she had to really do, always do, was to pray at night before going to bed - it gives you all, and wealth, peache and light.

    Jai Guru

  • That was amazing. (Not Sarcasm)

  • Sounds beautiful.

  • Gur Fateh Ji

I wanted to say that i think this video is great. The sister has a great voice and you can feel a calm and peace before going to sleep. I wont get involved in the yoga debate but the criticism of the Singhs name "Guru Ganesha Singh" is no big issue... Guru Har KRISHAN Ji... GURpreet.

    Gur fateh Ji

  • this moves me top time

  • n lord of ganas/element, Ganesh, has nothing to do with SIkh understanding of life, it carries with it the hindu metaphysics n mythology, that are inseparable from dualism. it has never appeared in Sikh history as a sikh name, let alone a title for Guru Sahiban... unless you consider bichitr natak, gurbani- which is seriously problematic.

  • dude nice for ur criticism...

think about what they do ... how much deicated r u towards sikhi ... kaam, krodh, lobh, moh , ahankar... i hope u have all those 5 evil elements ,, when u r better than some one then we should start cricising...

  • NO. NO, Guru Sahib did yoga. none advocated it. Guru Nank Sahib strictly prohibited it (see Sidh ghost). Yogi bhajan fellow, was very charismatic and bright, he invented a cult called Seeekh Darma, with 3h0 kundalini jargon- a complete neglect of KHalsai path/also known as SIKHI.

  • Dude he never said u cannot do yoga but showing off ur skills with yoga and tricks was wat he criticised.. do get the meaning of all those things ... try to know about guru gobind singh ji... try to know about BABA Nand ji...

  • With all respect, Brother Junta, you are missing a subtle truth here. Every specific teaching, such as whether to practice Hatha Yoga or not, has a context, it's time and place. Guru Nanak did not want his followers practicing Yoga because in his time it was connected with Hindu religious teaching as the narrow way to enlightenment, was available only to a few men of a certain caste, and in prescribed circumstances, excluding many people.

  • BALCKTHOREROSE, I'm sorry but religions are'nt historical movements, or social reforms- to think that the Guru sahib was reacting to the social/political events while giving us Sikhi, rehat, or GurBani is an Exteremely Reductive, infact, Athiestic approach. I will like to remind you of the simple truth that Historicism is a very bad way to think about religion. can u say alchohol, tobacco are historical prohibition only? YOGA, is ENTIRELY opposite approach that the Gurus EXPLICITLY rejected.

  • Another interpretation of the Sanskrit word Yoga is "union", the analogy is to two oxens being brought together to work as one under a yoke. As we know, Sanskrit words have many meanings and interpretations. This idea of union refers to uniting the body, mind, and spirit so that they act in harmony.

  • Yoga, comes from sanskrit to yoke, restrict. its essence lies in negating, literally annihilating, away all that is other than empty consciousness, i.e. Purusa/Self.- that is complete 'restriction' of 'flutuations' caused by living as a body, person, family member, citizen, friend, student-- ANY human relationship you can think of, and even subtle memories (Samskaras). Yoga basically requires one to negate all that is bodily, mental, pschological b/c its condisered irreal.(prakirti).

  • It has to do with stilling temporal thoughts, and purifying, and making healthy and strong the body so that one can become capable of complete focus on the Eternal. Yoga is about right treatment of the body and discipline of the mind to help the individual acheive understanding and connection with God. NOT NEGATION OF THE BODY ACTION (KARMA yoga) to realize the true self that is ONE with Divinity, also Bhakti Yoga, realizing God through DEVOTION usually primarily KIRTAN, singing and thru Grace

  • YOga is based in DUALITY:SELf(purusa)Vs No-self(prakirti).Yog is the realization of the former through negation of latter.the two never united, atmost brought closer, hence term Yoga-to yoke(togerther)this diff. is eternal, even at highest state of asamprajnata samadhi, yogi remains in process of negating memories! Guru's path is most beautiful, for there is only one, our ego sees two,but upon realization, through Kirt/action n NAdar/grace,the "body/matter" gets TRANSFORMED into the ONE,that it is.

  • the cultization of our prayers, certain Guru Sahib's names, are not separate from the cult-ization of Yogi Bhajan humself and his key followers. In order to position himself in a hierarchial position, above other SIkhs/n whites he has to create this entire culture of cult mentality. please do not think this is SIkhi, this is a perversion, a manipulation.

  • Mr. Sirach,

I am not referring to her talk, rather I am pointing out the abnormal Name of the Guitarist sitting next to her, and infact to the whole abnormal situation that is pictured here. Sikh prayer much more respectful and sincere in its appraoch- there is no tradition of reciting only Guru Ramdas ji's name when saying Waheguru, there is no distinction between the Guru SAhiban they are all Guru Nanak Sahib's light...

  • that is a LONG prayer! Dang!

  • the last guru jee is guru gorbin singh jee , the other gurus maybe hindu pandits but that is nothink to do with sikhi. I guess that is the part of sikhi missed from learning sikhi.

  • in this video all i wanted to share was prayer ,... do we do kirtan sohila b4 going to bed... there r many sikh's who doesnot and cannot

its for them .. so that they can pray .. i believe in praying and more we pray more we get closer to babaji ... thats all we should b thinking about ... how to find god .. if u believe in sikhi.. do try for that ,... hope u will get what they have..

  • @ManmukhSingh manmukh singh teeri maat mari gaai..... you calling other guru's pandits.. you better change your name from manmukh to gurmukh. don't come on you tube again you making me ANGRY AND SAD

  • what does "Ganesh" have to SIkhi? and why is he a "Guru", how can any Sikh call himself a "Guru"?

someone needs to let these people know that Sikhi is not hinduism nor can it be "hippized" like hinduism.
