This video was a very great one. I remember all of this since I live in Bay St. Louis now and before the storm. Things are looking better but we still need to continue to rebuild. Thanks for this. This Mississippian appreciates it.
At least for the US in modern times, I think so... it's still hard to comprehend the massive amount of damage the storm caused, and the pictures and video I've seen of this storm's effects are still so tragic :(
We have family on the Mississippi coast, and, after visiting there, I was amazed that all the damage there had been all but forgotten - or even unknown - by those outside of MS... so I decided to make this tribute for the Mississippi victims of Katrina, using pictures from the MS Coast. :)
i live in metro new orleans. i keep asking myself, why do they not talk about ms.and al.i have relatives on ms. coast who lost everything, but the clothes on their backs and the ground their houses sat on.the news media was making money sensationalizing the plight of persons at the dome and the convention center. i was able to hire people to do my repairs. i watched people on tv who were well insured, getting free help with gutting and repairing their property.
You know, that's EXACTLY what Uncle Joe was telling me - everybody was fixated on New Orleans and ignored the damage in AL and MS. Those states took the full force of the hurricane, and were totally swept away... while New Orleans was devastated, most of it was left standing. It gets on my nerves whenever the media ignores the damage MS and AL... that's why all of these pictures come from Mississippi, 'cause I think more people need to see what happened in ALL the locations along the coast :)
my opinion the media, especially the muckrakers like greg palast. ms.& al don't represent the big $s. the house 3 houses down from my brother-in-law in bay st louis landed on top of his.i see people here who have money who have gotten their property gutted and repaired and pocketed the insurance.i didn't get anything for free.i paid for all the work done on my house.all the beautiful homes along beach blvd.gone forever.other homes reduced to kindling.wake me from this nightmare.
Thank you very much^^! I really do appreciate it! It was difficult to determine which clips I should use... a family member from the Mississippi Coast sent me these pictures. Since tropical cyclones are my field of study, I had a hard time keeping from getting technical :( Katrina was certainly a terrible storm... the death toll stands at 1,836 but
probably is much higher... we have no way of really
You aren't stupid! What do you mean by that? Anyway... as a Louisiana shrimper has said, "Mother nature bitin' back - she bite back haaard too!" Yes, I saw the movie. I am a strong believer in conservation.
Thanks for commenting! And for rating, too! If I weren't the one putting it together I would have cried so much... things such as this make me emotional!
I also faved it! ^^ Yes the world deserves to know what we are doing to the earth, I believe this was a result from golbal warming! If you've ever seen the Day After Tomorrow!

This is really good. this one definitely deserves 5 stars. Katrina was a terrible thing, and I've seen a lot of shows about it. It was horrible.
