I haven't thought of it that way yet... I am from the u.s. and have been all over Cambodia and it was overpowering to me the amount of destruction from the Khmer Rouge , but now to hear that after the dust settled Ros Sothea's songs filling the air, just crush that weak and cowardly evil ... The light will always prevail... long live the spirit of all those who perished under the weak and cowardly Khmer Rouge.
@WillyBlythe Excellent comment "but now to hear that after the dust settled Ros Sothea's songs filling the air, just crush that weak and cowardly evil ". I can imagine those cowardly Khmers Rouge who are still alive hearing her music all over Cambodia everywhere they go and hide their fucking faces. Thoses bastards don't deserve to live and roam free after what they did, those animals.
FYI, those weak and cowarldy, animalistic, evil Khmer Rouge that should hide their fucking faces did not appear in Cambodia from thin air. They were armed, trained and appointed by U.S government, after illegal bombings in Cambodia after Vietnam war. Those of you who jump to accusations and speak hate, should first know to divide historical facts from media propaganda. Great band BTW.
@vbuselic And still , that does not justify their barbary> don't even understand your posting here, like the cause of the killing was caused by the americans. Just because somebody is bombing your country, will justify killing your own people. You've never seen that in history.
In that case, I cannot imagine those cowardly Americans who bombed Cambodia are still alive and listen Dengue Fever, THEY should hide THEIR fucking faces after killing so many innocent Cambodians. Those bastards don't deserve to live and roam free after what they did.
I don't know why, but everytime I listen to this song (I have no idea what it says) I get this incredible yearning for something I don't know what. Something that almost was; something that is now lost.
@pexex90 not lost because Dengue Fever woke it back up... just on the down low for a sec is all... you can't kill the music ... the fact that evil can never kill the music is such a beautiful thing it makes me want to cry joyous tears all day long.... thank you Dengue Fever for being brave..
I appreciate singing in a native language but it would be more playable for me if the lyrics were sung in English, even the ones you already did in Cambodian. Maybe they don't hold up well? I like when she sings in English, reminds me of good times.
good job guys not bad for americans lots of credit guys guess you still got ur voice chom nimol good to see you do well in america maybe see u some day in cali or unless you travel up to east coast one that got away 1998 saw you in cambodia first night good luck
That's why she's singing the song, to have him shave his beard, she's embarrassed to be around him with that beard. ;) (That's also what she's singing in the song!)
man i love her voice and Dengue Fevers image is so unique and original...love how theyre keeping khmer rock alive...much respect! this is a slower version of ros sereysothea yea? sounds really good!
Actually just2sweeet, this is a remake believe it or not. The original artist was named "Ros Sereysothea". Unfortunately, she was murdered in Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge.
Fantastic that the KR still could not silence her wonderful music, and that there are still bands out there remaking her stuff.
Dengue Fever, MAD CRAZY RESPECT TO YOU for keeping Khmer Rock alive!
The body of Ros Sereysothea has still not been found. She could of escaped then been shot on the spot or she could of been chucked in the water with a weight tied to her. For all we know she could still be alive. Chances are though that she is not still alive. The guy from the original was shot on the spot though. That has been confirmed. Very sad though :(
can't wait to see these guys again!

@vbuselic Not True at all. I advise you to check for factsbefore you state nonsense. They were created by Norordom Sihanouk.

Not sure but I think this may be the best song for Chom Nimol's voice. just so well suited to what her natural range does with the melody.
