The only serious presidential candidates in the United States (for 2008) were Ralph Nader (Independent) and Cynthia McKinney (Green). I've voted for Nader for President 4 X, and written him in during non-presidential election years. There are many more offices than just US Prez.
Ralph Nader would be the best on environment, animal rights, justice, and the economy.

you are going to HATE this. GOOD!!!
no matter WHAT you do with your FUCKING cars and transportation OR ANY OTHER HABITS. you FOOLS will contiunue to make babies just as fast as you can even if you need test tubes to do so. and the immigrants you are sucking in like a giant whirlpool are reproducing at an even higher rate. POPULATION GROWTH OFFSETS ANY AND I MEAN ANY ADVANTAGE OF "ALT" JERKSI!
The speed limit one block from my house is 70mph. I need a car that goes a lot faster than that for acceleration purposes. Also, it's not good to drive a car at top speed all the time. I see some of them are faster but that one had 70mph as a top speed.
LOL, I don't live on the median. The freeway is just nearby. I live here so I can have greater access to the whole metro area. This way I have a greater area to search for new jobs if I need to. I'm about 4 miles from the freeway that runs the other way. That means I can get just about anywhere in town in about 45 min or less. I can reach 90% in 35 min or less. If I lived 15 min from the freeway, that would change everything.
Mike Gravel is definately the one that could have gotten most done for the environment .. And everything else for that sake - he's such an intellectual!
Not a good idea to re-use urban air: it needs a heat-exchanger. Bacteria and contaminants in the captured air are inflicted on a captive population in the office building.
And you know Obama wants to create a treaty organization amongst the worst polluters, which are the G8 nations plus China, Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa, who aren't members of Kyoto. His environmental stand is aggressive AND achievable.
Strangely enough, DeSmogBlog retracted their award for Obama. But they seem to have (had) a point in terms of his support for the coal industry and weak greenhouse gas reduction targets. It's appalling how little attention has been given to this issue in the debates.
I'm not really sure on who I think the greener party is, but I will say this: I tend to notice that Democrats (at least around here, in the bible belt) take global warming much more serious than the Republicans for the sole fact that they don't 'believe' in global warming. I just can't get past why someone thinks of global warming is a belief, and not a fact. Doesn't make sense to me. But for the most part, I'd say Democrat candidates seem to strive more to stop global warming.
I wonder if those three-wheelers will ever uhh.. You know, not be considered ridiculous looking. I'd be interested if it didn't mean me being the only person in my area with such a goofy looking thing. :P
The Oil companies are trying their best to stop free energy ideas from spreading to common people.
We need to put an end to this corruption ,start generating your own electricity now.

Obama's done a great job with the environment thus far. His weakness is he thinks clean coal exists.

ya, but even if he says that he will wait that long, he is very likely to do it.
so what is better, a candidate who might do something great, or a candidate who will do somehting good?
