me and my family flew to us in 1984 and the pan am 747 was also called clipper maid of the seas,were they all called by that name,i ask cos me and my sister were allowed into the flight deck as a reward for a seating cock up and that the fleet name was written on the control panels in the cockpit

I flew to lhr from jfk on "Maid of the Seas" in summer 1984. I remember looking at the plane from the lounge windows before departure. I also remember looking at the emergency info card in the seatback. It said "PANAM 747...Just in case!"

Strange that I remember that. I was 12.

I remember this being shown on the news. I was twenty at the time, the same age as a lot of the students on board. I have visited Lockerbie a few times over the past five years and its such a beautiful place with friendly people. The memorial garden is a very sad place to visit, but it's nice to pay tribute to the tragic victims.
