could you explane what is the: hold the top power button down for three seconds,

and "then use your finger to slide the power switch on the screen to off. Leave the unit off for two to three minutes before turning it back on.

@pqr9ap if you just hold down the top button and the menu button (just under the screen for 5 seconds, it will restart the iphone, ipod.

this is the X-Plane Trainer....not X-Plane Airliner or any of the other X-Plane they have for the iPod Touch or iPhone.....the X-Plane Trainer is a free download while the others cost up to $10.00 thats why its missing alot and in the trainer its a Cessna not Airbus or Boeing thats why it has CRAPPY power lol but yeah X-Plane Airliner etc is way better then the trainer

@Airportchris2 dude, out of the many versions of the simulator, the largest version is no bigger than 50 MB. not GB. iPhoneOS games are REALLY convenient with size.

How in hell is this possible. I looked at the top apps and I saw X-Plane. I'm thinkin "No fcking way!!!!" and it's really there! How in hell did they engieer such an amazing flight sim on such a small device!? I mean they didn't do it with the PSP (yet) but it's already on the iPhone! I'm freaking amazed!

there are alot of hardware limitations on the PSP. Look aroung. The iPhone is way more powerful compared to the old tech (3 years old) in the PSP.

You're actually very wrong here, the PSP is vastely superior to the iPhone in many aspects, it falls short on two things though, the first being the amount of RAM.

the iPhone has 128MB RAM total, the PSP got 32MB.

The other being developer licensing, development on the iPhone cost $99 and some luck.

development cost for the PSP is disclosed, but I can tell you it's more than 4 digits.

I basically said "No you're wrong", The PSP is stronger than the iPhone except two points being RAM and development cost.

The graphics chipset on the PSP is stronger than the slow PowerVR the iPhone and many other smartphones got.

The CPU is stronger in most cases dispite the iPhone having a higher clocked CPU- the PSP got two CPUs btw, plus an FPU which the iPhone lacks alltogether.

But enough about this, the iPhone is a versatile device- but it's no game console.

uhh the iPhone has a VFPU actually, and the CPU is usually significantly faster than the PSP's. interestingly RAM is actually one place they come out closer, the iPhone has more RAM but using more than 30-40MB makes unstable apps, because Apple's OS sucks, wheras the PSP has 28/~60(on slim) mb usable. the powervr on the iPhone is about the same perf as the PSP's GU and implements GLES rather than the close-but-not-quite pspGu calls, eliminating a learning curve for devs.

GLES vs GU is not an matter of performance, the GU is more powerful period.

You also totally ignore the fact the PSP got 2 CPUs.

using the ME is a pain. but you're right, it does exist.

you're right that the VFPU on PSP is more powerful, especially in its matrix support, but I think for a lot of float applications the iPhone's clock speed win helps more (i'm working on porting a very float-heavy physics sim app to iphone right now, and finding that the iphone is mostly faster except when apple's sdk has gimped it, although i was was unable to take advantage of most advanced vfpu features on psp, other apps might differ.)

the scenery is the innsubrook in austria...same as in the demo
