I find it amazing how cranked up anti-climate change people are. I am not sure why they don't support renewable green energy. They must either work for the oil companies or have a large portion of their stock portfolio in oil companies?

Investing in green energy will get the US out from under the thumb of OPEC and would be investing in our own infrastructure. What exactly is the downside of that?

Yeah, but the earth has never had humans manipulating the environment on such a large scale before, releasing even more green house gases into the atmosphere. Oh, but you must be right, human activity hasn't done anything to degrade the environment. Come on! Just because climate change and the science behind it doesn't make sense immediately to you, it doesn't mean it isn't real, dude. Those who manipulated data should be condemned, but climate change has not been debunked in the least bit.

They have suppressed dissenting opinions from tens of thousands of scientists with PHD's, outside their AGW circle for years. They've humiliated others who doubted their theory, and even some have been called heretics by their own supposed colleagues.

There is actually more of a qualified "consensus" that considers CO2 emissions to NOT pose any significant threat at all, in the thousands of a percent in temperature change.

@JMehrman, to be honest, I hope the US economy does shatter because I believe that capitalism is one of the most terrible systems that the earth has ever borne witness to. I think people should be in control of their resources and that there should be a system which embraces the production of useful things, not one which only seeks to produce commodities for exchange. We are united in that we are both opposed to a world gov't, but I still think the environment has been seriously damaged.

To say those who manipulated the data "should be condemned" is a bit of a weak statement wouldn't you say? Are you really prepared to have a carbon tax put in place that will tax you and further impoverish third world countries based on ANY lies at all?

Human activity may well cause problems. However, I want scientific facts not fraudulent lies before making decisions of this scale. dont you?

@YTSavedMyLife You're right in that policies shouldn't be crafted when there are reasons to be skeptical of data. It would be extraordinarily terrible to put in place policies which further set back the free and democratic development of impoverished countries. I don't support the bourgeois states imposing their will on the people of less economically advanced countries, simultaneously, I think it is dangerous for people to fall into the Alex Jone's trap that this is all a lie. Ya know?

I tend to agree. We rely on scientists and experts for honest advice. What else can we do? To then learn that some of these scientists are deliberatley covering up the real data is beyond belief! What are their reasons for doing this? Man may well be having an impact on the environment but it would actually be nice to have an open debate, with honesty and scientific fact at its core, for us to all move forward and make the right decisions about what needs to be done.
