You better hang onto the Media GX those are rare. The media GX was the only cpu from the 90s that was windows and linux compatible that featured an integrated gpu and audio core on to the cpu die/mcm. Most were socked while there was a few rare examples that were embeded. They were made by national semiconductor which later sold cyrix off to via. VIA also bought what was the winchip. They still make cpus to this day. C7 is the modern line. slow at crysis though.
first off thanks for commenting. yes make a vid of it i would like to see it. it seems you are on your way to being a certified computer geek, i should know i am a big computer geek myself. i started off pretty much the same way you did and now i have a basement full of computers and computer parts! i just moved into a house with a big enough basement for a workshop. watch my other vids and you can see how i was working before. have a good one and keep up the good work.
I killed one also. I was new to computers then and I accidentally reversed the mother board power connecters and fried it. I think it was a 40 mhz 486.
the c610 will accommodate up to 1 gigabyte of 144-pin PC133 SODIMM and is currently available on the net at various places for about 100 bucks for 1 gig or 50 bucks for a single 512 mb chip. as for video cards i think you are out of luck unless you can find something on ebay. good luck and thanks for watching!
Windows was indeed smoking some "good shit". Your pipe from the window to cool your computer is sweet, I always thought about doing something like that for my computer just for fun, something to play around with but it is not logical for me because I would have the tube going across my room and over my bed lol. (Wow that was a huge run-on sentence).
haha nice dude i seen your newegg post on the mobo. Pros: everything about this board is great now that i updated the bios...... Cons: does not work with more than one stick of ram unless you update the bios! please install just one stick of ram and then update bios then install second stick of ram! works great!!!!!! Other Thoughts: do the above and you will be up and running at 100% in no time!!!!
yes, it did have an hsf but it was the perfect size for a northbridge cooler, so i snagged it! now i know why i save almost everything,I always find a use for junk.
according to cpuid hardware monitor it lowers my cpu temp to just above freezing and my 3850 to about 26c, depending on the temperature outside which right now is freakin cold!
probably by then ill have my water cooling put together and that wont be a problem. here in ohio winter lasts through march mostly so i have some time.
vista is terrible but still better than Me

Hey, I wtached your vid. I also have a Cyrix CPU. It's a Cyrix 6x86 PR 200+ volted down to a PR 166+ [actual 133MHz] for the SDRAM.
I may make a vide of it sometime. I never made a vid before so that'll be cool.
I got a bunch of old pc's, two Pentium 1MMX pc's, a Pentium 2, 3, & 4. My newest in my AMD Athlon XP 2800 2.12GHz pc. Your pc is cool btw.
I'm really interested in computers. I'm looking into becoming a pc repair tech after college.
