@MrTornado300 i love that CAT IN THE HAT movie reference. my favorite line from it and my favorite Mike Myers performance next to the AUSTIN POWERS movies.
thanks...it turns out i'm a swing fan & didn't realize it! funny, cause i took swing dance lessons when they were offered for free at my college, and loved it to no end....definitely an arobic workout though....poor fred... 40 + years and he never gets a break....
does anyone have posted the one with the jazzy scat type band playing around with the blue guy putting things on his head and the female vocalist is singing about the things they put there? it's recent i think and i totally love it!!! i want to favorite it but dunno what it is titled......they( the guy with dreads) put a mat a bat and a bunch of stuff on his head...
@trashpicker1970 I see you found it :-) For anyone else looking, it was a guest appearance by Squirrel Nut Zippers doing their song, "Put A Lid On It".
Does anyone remember the restaurant scene with grover and the count, where the count hypnotizes grover to bring him an endless supply of hot dogs? Could someone please put it up?
@MenollytheBeagle Yep "Grover uses his waiter's memory," is the title. That just might be the best skit between Grover and fat blue lol. Hliarious Grover pegged him good, a large set of beady eyes within that fat blue bubble.
Lol @ Fuddruckers I used to work there and and had an experience similar to this.. There were two sizes to choose from back then and one day I was handing out the trays at the pickup counter someone goes "this was not what I wanted ...this hamburger is so small ...I want the big one!" immediately thought of this skit and I had a hard time to keep from giggling...
When I saw this clip as a little kid, and Grover said "Singe an itty-bitty," I thought he was saying "singelette" something-or-other, and I started using the word "singelette" for various things, like to spray something out of a can was to singelette it. I made up a lot of words based on things I'd hear incorrectly when I was really young.
I'm still waiting for someone to upload the skit where Grover went nuts in the kitchen because Fat Blue didn't make up his mind; first he wanted strips of bacon & a few eggs...then when Grover finally got it right after a long time, he wanted two hot dogs & two pickles...that's when Grover went nuts...lol
@GrilloJ123 It was more entertaining AND more educational. The Sesame Street of today is a far cry from the great show it used to be when I was growing up. Everything about the show was better back then. They decided to dumb the show down and that is really sad. The best time to be a kid was in the 70's and 80's, except for technology we had it much better.
Ha! Ha! Ha! I can remember watching these skits when I was a nipper soooo long ago and 30+ years later they are still spot on. Love Grover saying "No,no,no. Here, let me just sit down, talk to you". Brilliant!! The absolute perfect show for kids & parents to watch together.
Oh, and a big shout out going to Charlie in the kitchen too :-)
The recent sesame street episodes rarely have puppet skits like this. It's nothing but computer generated mini shows like Abby's flying school, Bert and Ernie's adventure or something like that, Murray talking to kids, and Elmo's World. What happened to the good old days with the puppet skits? O___O
@Ant29 Creative writing died when Elmo and his corporate sponsors took over. Everything had to be child appropriate. Long ago it was a show for both child and parents now its a show for a child and his nanny.
@Dtitilator I think Abby is part of Elmo's corporation since Abby is showing up every SINGLE time. Can't she just make her self disappear? It's sickening to see her and Elmo taking over the show every time.
man, this is good comedy right there, a great thing about sesamy street, is that the kids love it for their reasons, and the adults can still appretiate the little touches, references and refined humor.
