  • What a sound...

  • this is sex

  • Nice clean engine and engine bay, I can tell you look after your stuff.

  • No air filter?!

  • I thought the GE was super charged?

  • @enticed2zeitgeist GE isnt supercharged but there is a model for it ..its called GZE(supercharged version of 4age)

  • @enticed2zeitgeist those 4age that are super charged came in MR2s

  • @bimbim007 ae92, 101 aswell

  • Dont Get your Fingers Caught !!!!

  • very nice man, what is the size of the trumpets you have on it? im getting a black top 20v BZR car and just wondering whats the best size to put on them?

  • you got to force some air into that turd

  • hello again mate... i have a question for you..

    remember me?

i'm about to buy an apexi power fc with the commander

for my 4 age with the quads from 20v

    to run better...

    any opinions? suggestions?

    thanks

  • So its the Regular 16v Motor With 20v Throttles?

  • fits for ae86

  • sounds like initial D's trueno 86

  • always love the vroom of 4A-GE 20v

  • i dont know whats a piggyback...

in my mod i used a square box about 2 litres and sent all 4 subpressure hoses in that

then i made 2 more holes in it and took out the air for servo

and one for the map with fuel (together)

on the road the AFR from 1500 rpm to 8400 was around 13.2 almost steady

by the way whats an F-con?

nice to meet you ..excuse my english if any mistakes

  • not 20 v head just the 20v quads.. mate

really nice work friend... it sounds like it should ...

i have the same car ... same modification

    again nicely tuned ....

happy to see cars like these treated like that

in my country people who like details are called'' meraklethes'' ''μερακλήδες''

  • LOL dont get so excited over 20v engines. vw's 1.8t is a 20v engine. 3 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves

  • @SlimChris76

The difference is the Toyota 20V engines last forever and the VW engines only last a maximum of 5 years.

  • @TheClubshaker No engine lasts forever. Rebuilds happen on any car. There's no statistic for 5 years lol! what about all the diesel vw's huh?

  • @TheClubshaker LMFAO you are so a fanboy to say toyota engines last forever. I know a 30 year old VW engine which have never had a rebuild.

  • @dogeatinghoebag im sure hes not saying that toyota is the only good car maker cuz i have a stock 240z from 73 never rebuilt enything .. but ive seen toyota cars that just dont give up no matter how much abuse they are put threw... if i had a dollar for every stock toyota pick up ive seen still running today still working hard i would have atleast 200 to 300 $

  • @240ZWarrior this is very true, i own a 1991 tercel and it still fires right up in the mornings, even with 255,000 miles on it, still runs like new, never quits, and ive done some harsh stuff to that car, including towing a jeep liberty 4 miles with it, getting it stuck in 3 feet of mud, stuck in snow, driven countless hours in the snow with chains on. romping, racing, drifting, and more. all i do is keep the oil changed and the motor cleaned once a month with seafoam and im golden lol.

  • Sometimes, you just have to keep it OG and rock the classic 4AGE w/ITBs. :)

  • is it fuel efficient?

  • how do you make a 16 valve 4age to 20 valve 4age?

  • @the0918ronniechris well i bought a 20 valve engine from an import engine dealer, but i think you my be able to just switch the head.

  • @JacobWB93 do you apply 20v to this old 16v engine?

  • @the0918ronniechris no, my old motor was blown, so i just put in the whole new engine

  • what are those filter-less intake manifolds called?

  • @Acornoa throttle bodies, expensive shit

  • @spitty3d - oh makes sense, i didnt see the butterfly valve =P

  • QQQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!

  • y u guys hatin bet you guys have like a 2 cyl engine

  • y u guys hatin bet you guys have like a 2 cyl engine

  • cover your cam gears dude. last thing u need is to jump timing

  • @3star2nr those engines actually never had covers on em.

  • holy shit

  • im building up a Naturaly aspirated 2.6 8v sohc Mitsubishi, im ricey but whoa! TOKYO DRIFT ME OF THE ROAD WONT YA!

  • yuck!

  • i have a 1974 corolla... i want a 4a-ge so bad! anyone know the best way to get one?

  • @BeNn2u MR2 in junkyard

  • put a hks exhaust on it

  • @fungusamogus Hah thats the first thing I noticed too when he started it up. Was like Damn it's gonna pop out and walk off.

  • so for the 4age engine there are like different sub engines under it? like 4age ae111 engine and 4age ae92 engine? can anyone help me figure this out? xD

  • ae111 silvertop/blacktop are 20valves with ITB while the ae92 had the high compression aka redhat at 10:3.1 ratio

  • @Gin132456 yea there are different kinds of 4ag(z)e engines. ie the blue top, the black top etc. check out toyota engines on wikipedia, its all there. the blacktop is so far the most powerful one, since its 20v

  • hay nice work my m8s got the same thing ke70 wagon with a black top 20v s/s quad throttle bodies hes got his polished up thy sound mean as

  • Sounds really nice.

Hopefully wanting to build up my N/A red top 4A-GE in my AE92 GTi-16 [FX-GT] Corolla

  • QTBs? Those are just called ITBs.

  • Yamaha did a good job on the 4A-GE head!

  • that engine can finally breath

  • nice 4age sounds nice

  • Pretty nice

    5/5

  • what no turbo? what good does it do?

  • @kidehilario u dont need a turbo u tard. lemme guess u bought a skyline and bolted on a 40mm turbo pumped 2.5 bar of boost and blew it up. wake up bud

  • @lingling0432219507 skylines already has a turbo and if im going to buy one it definitly going to be an evo not a skyline..... what i mean to say is that its not that economic car if use daily...

  • can i put a stick between the timing belt??i wanna c wat happens =P...awesome car dude 10/10

  • Is that a Big port?, don't suppose u have a build log somewhere id like to see how its done

  • Yeah it's a good idea to run engines without filters. Helps port and polish the heads and valves, bore and stroke the engine...

  • @eaxnitro Yup, you usually do with ITB's

  • @eaxnitro almost as bright as pouring sand down them for a good polishing of the engine interior

  • @eaxnitro I'm confused. Boring and stroking refers to increasing engine displacement via a larger piston or crank stroke. Porting and polishing is improving the flow of a port by smoothing it out and reshaping it.

Neither is taking the filters off. Explain please.

  • @JordanWallac3 He's exaggerating on how the unfiltered air will damage the engine components. There's no way microscopic airborne contaminants will bore out an engine, but it's not healthy for it regardless lol.

These ITB setups are cool but I hope the owners don't daily drive them without filters.

  • @99Cv Actually, you can run an engine without filters, just need to change the oil more often.

But yes, a filter would be good for the engine.

  • @JordanWallac3 hes joking

  • @XxMusclecarsxX I. Can. Read. And. I. Use. Correct. English. And. Grammar.

    Understood?

  • @JordanWallac3 lolLLLlllLllL

  • how did you get it to run on a standard ecu?

  • I am curious - whats the power gains like on carby? I plan to do it on my mr2 but not sure what the gains would be. If anyone can help me msg me or relpy

    thanks and nice vid.

  • @esko23q not too much of a gain in power for carbies over properly tuned EFI. That said, some ppl use a bunch of moto carbies with flat slide throttle instead of the butterfly setup. Flat side carbies alow for some ridiculous engine response, but thats really its biggest benifit.

  • Thank you for clearing that up i was very curious!

My 4age is dying whats the best motor transplant?

    20v wise.

    cheers! =]

  • @esko23q , not much really , just better responce dont use shitty carbs.... use bike carbs , my mate has r1 boddies on a pug 106gti and its leathel

  • what a small engine!!!

  • 5 valves per cylinder? holy!!

  • @xKILLZONAx

    it's a 16V, the QTBs are from a 20V :)

  • lol no.

  • yes.... 20v 4 cylinder....

  • lol no. 16v. 4 valves a cylinder. a 20v looks nothing like this. it says 20v in the info box because that is what the throttle bodys are off.

  • ooooooooooooo ok

  • yeah youre right.. the 20v doesnt have a dizzy.. so its just got a quad hooked up on the side..

  • YEAH! 4 exhaust and 1 intake....LOL

  • NO!!!! rlly?

  • @xKILLZONAx just think if they put that 5 valve per cylinder into the 7m or the 2jz

  • @xKILLZONAx 1.8(over seas) and 1.8T jettas had 5 valves / cyl as well.

  • @xKILLZONAx That's why it's so damn responsive!

  • @xKILLZONAx 4 valves per cylinder

  • @xKILLZONAx there is no 5 valves per cylinder u dumb ass

  • @KLONIME1001 i can think of several engines that have 5 valves per cylinder.

  • @KLONIME1001 the engine in this video has 5 valves per cylinder , dumb ass

    20 vavles / 4 = 5

  • @KLONIME1001 I'm sure you could google facts like this in the future to save yourself a lot of embarrassment.

  • @KLONIME1001 its called a 20v lol fail

  • @sddrifting gay, this 4age is only 16 valve lol fail

  • @zionbnr32 listen troll i was responding to his remark on "their is no such thing as a 20v engine" not the video. Please attempt to give a damn before trying to troll someone u stupid shit

  • @sddrifting actually, listen troll, there is such thing is 4age 20v, dont attempt to give a damn before tyring to troll someone u stupid dick head

  • @KLONIME1001 yamaha did use 5valve engines on their R1's ill 2006 or so, as did toyota and a few other european manufacturers (Ferrari f1 v12 IIRC). So yea there are plenty, and used successfully.

  • @KLONIME1001 yes there are... all vag turbo(new) are 20 v (4cylinders)

  • @ae70gts sorry nvm. yes they do

  • @xKILLZONAx This motor isn't a 20 valve, the throttle bodies are off a 20 valve engine. It's a 16 valve 100kw motor.

  • @xKILLZONAx aint that unusual..

  • @xKILLZONAx and ? audi a3 too :S

  • @xKILLZONAx Not this engine, the throttlebodys is from a 20v 4age, but the engine in this vid is a 16v 4age.

  • @xKILLZONAx 3 intake 2 exhaust

  • Is it true that ITB's are bad for your motor?

  • @RICEFREAK only if u run them with out airfilters on the street :)

  • @somerandomaussie

False...i roll 2 cars without airfilters. My 4AGE Blacktop with velocity stacks and my 7AFE with velocity stack. The 2 Corollas rolls without filter and even the 7AFE equipped one rolls in winter and dusty conditions since a month and i don't have problems with it even in those bad conditions and on that old engine (790 000kms (471 000miles i think)).

  • @Ebbsilen i guarentee u crack open ur engine it will be full of shit...iv seen drag engine which run without filters cracked open after a few months n its not somethin i would want inside my street cars engine

  • @somerandomaussie The Blacktop 20v was designed by Yamaha and uses the genasis 5v system same as whats found on the motocross 4 strokes up to 2006 :D

  • letting the engine run without air filters is bad yes because all the dirty air is getting in the engine but itb's gives little boost of performance and a great sound ^^

  • Nice revving skills...=D

  • what engine is dat?

  • @edriel2006 Are you serious? look at the heading

  • It's like a symphony!!!

  • what ignition do u use ?

  • hey how did you convert from normal to quads? like list the steps...pleaase?

  • Research on forums ect.

  • done. you're on ae86dc hey?

  • Sure am.

  • Suppose I'll be a little more helpful. First of all, it's not cheap. You'll probably need a new computer, adapter plate and the quads themselves. Other than what's required, I'm not really sure. Try asking somebody who's done it on the forum. A lot of them are great guys and will be happy to help.

  • i know what is needed to run quads with an aftermarket computer like an adaptronic or something, but i just wanted to know how he is running them with a standard computer, whether he's running a map sensor or not, etc. sorry, i should have been more specific with my question.

  • Since there's no manifold pressure anymore, I'm guessing he's not running the MAP sensor, so not sure how he did it with standard computer. He's changed engines since, but if you find Skid_KE70 on AE86DC he probably still remembers.

  • ok, cheers. and yeah, his new engine is insane. car has changed so much.

  • Yeah, good build to watch.

  • If you are using the STD ECU you have to use the MAP sensor, how else will the ECU know the load on the engine? I run a STD ECU also, but the fuel comsumption is awful and it only makes around the same power as what a STD 4AG makes. To be honest running the STD ECU you are risking damging the engine. I am going to have the HKS f-con fitted to mine very shortly.

  • Yeah, I looked into it and you do need one obviously. Do you find that you have better throttle response though? I love the thought of quad carbs, so much simpler.

  • quad carburettors is insanely hard to get set up right, try Webers, thats 2 carbs and you`ll still have lots of problems. And even if u did get the sickest carbs (Dellorto or FCR.) they still wont beat Individual Throttle Bodies :)

  • Hell of a lot cheaper and simpler to set up though. No aftermarket ECU or anything.

  • nope it`s not cheaper, Webers in decent condition costs a grand, FCR`s anything from 1350 to 750. Then it`s gotta be set up just right (Either by specialist for 500-600 bucks, or ure lucky and manage to set them half-right on ur own.) whereas a quad throttle body costs 200 bucks, then a T3 adaptor, some injectors and a ecu, which is just a matter of following instructions on a internet site :)

  • Decent aftermarket ECUs cost more than a grand...

You can get carb conversion kits for under a grand

  • @Startliter you just have to install a''thief'' in line with the map sensor this thief is messing with the voltage reached to the map and as a result you get smooth idle low consumpion at low revs

at hight revs there is no problem any way

  • @ae70gts I have had F-con fitted to my engine now, it is noticeably smoother and faster. You will find that with the std ECU it will run rich low down and then it will run lean up in the rev range... Not really what you want happen. Unless you are talking about a piggyback?

  • cool.

  • yeah !

  • Hey, its been a long time since i have checked youtube... thanks for comments guys.

this was my old engine, it was a smallport 100kw map sensor engine.. was running on standard ecu at the time of the video, was completely standard engine with silvertop 20v throttle boddies, i was also using a T3 adaptor. the lumpy idle was just because it was a "fat" tune. standard ECU worked fine but would pick up more power with an aftermarket unit eg. haltech, motec ect.

  • @SkidKE70 how did u get the quad throttles to work wif stock ecu and map sensor cuz doesnt only one of the throttles have have a vacume line coming off it? and wat about all the cold start stuff?

  • @SkidKE70

I have an AE86 with stock blue top 4AGE. Could you please tell me a process of installing "yon suro" from silver top or black top? Especially - what is a T3 adapter?

  • dont stand to close you may get sucked in its so awsome

  • i miss working on those cars

you got so much more space under the hood you can sleep in it... not really, but you get the point

  • sick!

  • itbs dont need filteration for racing purposes so basicly you dont have filteration

  • why did you keep standard ECU?

  • The cam gears look like they aren't even moving at the beginning.

  • Where does that flutter like sound come when he releases gas?

  • Aftermarket cams, you can hear them when he idles inside of the car, also when the stacks suck in air, you can actually hear the pistons inside of the engine

  • Nice, thanks for the info. =)

  • you can run them open but run the risk of picking up bugs or rocks. you can put socks(not for your feet btw) over them that works like a filter

  • wow that's sweet. I wonder if you could do that to a 3rz engine.

  • All you Douche's are ignent fools you don't know shit about shit. Don't even know where to begin. Even the guy who posted the video "QTB Quad Throttle Boddies" ACRONYM!!!

  • nice...im buying an aw11 with a jdm 16v cant wait..

  • What kind of 4AGE is this? The smallport with MAP? How do these ITBs run with the stock ECU? Any problems?

  • Uh, you can't run with the stock ECU. You'd need a standalone... MegaSquirt seems to be the most popular.

  • just runs a bit rich, other than that they run fine

  • i hate cam covers. lol

  • Yet -another- set of ITB with no filter of any kind to be found...

  • well the stock blacktop comes with a filter and everything but this is how you would want it for aftermarket itb's...

  • And how exactly do you justify that statement? Do aftermarket ITB have some sort of built in invisible filtration system that I'm unaware of?

  • You can either have socks fitted on them for filtration, or take them off for a video or racing, and have them unobstructed. Filter socks are rather restrictive, so sometimes people like to leave them off in high power situations, again such as racing. They also just make a better sound without socks.

  • hey That I need to improve my engine as yours and if one can costs the parts

  • i care if its too loud

  • Touche

  • Are the throttle bodies off the 20v engine the only work that has been done?

  • props 2 tha ae101 swap

  • hello there, what kind of ECU do you use??

  • where do you get an engine like that besides JDM

  • build it.

  • JDM isnt a place...

  • The Japanese Domestic Market is very much a place.

  • i hope to god youre joking

  • The market is the area of the planet (Japan in this case) where their cars are sold domestically. Therefore, JDM is a place.

    Ha!

  • then just say Japan, fuck.

saying "i gotta go get my JDM sidemarkers from the JDM" just sounds fuckin stupid.

  • Just saying JDM is a place, therefore, ha!

  • haha

  • i always guessed it was japanese domestic motors
