I wonder if you could take 2 reel to reels, set the first one to record and the other one to play, then have the 2nd one far away and use it as an intercom :) that would be interesting! As long as no one grabbed/cut the tape...
They probably had Craig put by the American company. I have several Craig tape recorders that all seem to be made by Sanyo. I have lots of other-name brand machines that are Sanyo made.
WOW! I still have a reel to reel like that, but put it away, then age got to it. The tape doesnt seem to be moving slow enough....wow I wish I was there. I LOVE THIS & they all work!!! WOW!!! It doesnt seem to be moving slow enough but still....WOW why dont you try overlaping a little bit in the beginning of the statement and get it so it wont feedback...
I did that before. It's quite noisy. Also for the TV comment on the other video, the GE portacolor's picture quality isn't very good, the contrast is not too great.
FABULOUS! That's the most creative thing with vintage tape recorders I have ever seen! 5 stars Cassette Master! What an inspiration! NOW, see if you can pull this trick with cassette recorders! Also, if you rewind that tape and play it back on only one machine, do you get all the strange sounds?
Fun stuff! I did something similar 23 years ago with a Philips and a Sony TC-630. I'd have the Sony placed on the left, recording, with echo and sound-on-sound on. The Philips on the right would take up the tape, play it, and refeed it to the Sony in close circuit. Imagine the exponential addition of echo and s.o.s !!
That looks like....... so, so, so much fun... I am envious.

That's cool! I don't know if it's just me but the craig reel to reel sounds the best to me. Does it have a bigger speaker that the others?
movieman95 3 years ago
It has a bigger (oval) speaker than the others and an more powerful amp. It is the best quality out of the 4 shown in the video.

Cool! Thanks for the reply.

What if you added more tape recorders all in a circle around the table and spliced an endless loop of tape??

holy crap thats awesome!
it sounded a bit scary when you did the feedback thing lol
That Craig unit seems to have the best sound quality, and of course, the Lloyd's unit sounds the worst.
Also, if i did anything like that, my mom would kick my ass LOL LOL
