The older 121.5 MHz EPIRBs are no longer Satellite detectable. The 121.5 MHz is still used as a homing frequency, but if you have an older EPIRB you need to upgrade to a 406 MHz signal.
Also remember, make sure you register your EPIRB every 2 years. Your registration is what tells Search and Rescue who owns the beacon.
